In conclusion I believe Renee hating Carmen was planned, like yes Carmen did do some unacceptable inappropriate things like how she addressed the young lady as creature and asking if the young man was gay or straight. But it’s clear that Renee’s only bitter toward Carmen because of the B-word she said that was on the exercise paper. I believe they did this on purpose for her to hate Carmen because in no way is the B-word ever allowed to be used as a greeting towards anybody. They kinda did Renee dirty here by portraying her as a stereotypical angry black woman with that exercise sheet situation. But I still don’t think that’s a proper reason to hate someone, the production definitely did this on purpose to stir in unnecessary drama between the two mothers.
Yeah, tbh, I didn't hate Carmen. Bruno was irredeemable. I've seen people comparing Bruno to Micheal Scott, but I don't think so. Micheal is naive and ignorant, well meaning, and those traits make him a likeable and charming character. Bruno is ignorant, but not in a well meaning way. He definitely has some maliciousness in this personality. I think Carmen is actually more similar to Micheal. She says and does some stupid and racist things, but I don't think there's malicious intent. She is just not the brightest and ignorant. Her saying "Hey, bitch!" is such a Micheal move. So is the "beautiful black creature", as cringey and racist as that was, that was pure Micheal energy.

It's crazy the black parents gave better advice to Rose than her own parents probably would have. Her momma was hollering at her because she didn't want to be corrected for the connotation of her words. And her father is....an overt racist/narcissists.
I watched the latest movie 🍿 about Harriet Tubman with this older white woman i was taking care of.. and when the white slave masters were torturing the black slaves she laughed. As if it was amusing to her. i cried because i felt their pain and agony and so many other emotions through the screen. I was hoping by her seeing the movie it would bring her a more sense of empathy and remorse. But nope.
They took body parts home of lynching victims as souvenirs, and posed for pictures as the bodies burned. Of course she laughed. Black pain has always been white joy in the U.S. Why do you think they defend fatal police interactions?
@Mohamoud Said can’t remember, but I found out that it was incorrect. They did break up after a long partnership, but according to Carmen W. (The wh*te woman), they were never actually married to begin with, but that complications from the show, and other things led them to split.

This was a great project👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 42:11 Bruno has made it about changing his values, when that was not even the focus. I think Rose should have just been herself without black face for the poetry reading, coming from her honest self. Outside of all this. And Nick was right the police 👮♀️ are a MESS. The pigs are a mess. They carry guns and kill people legally. Nick is just a kid completely reacting as one should react to this because this whole thing is abnormal. And NICK IS ARTICULATE. When Rose said that I realize she has a LOT to STILL learn.
I found out about this show from Jarvis Johnson as most people likely did. I 100% believe the existence of this miniseries is very important so people understand what is really going on in the world. I don't think Jarvis understands that. Granted the fact that both families are fortunate & have big high class houses doesn't speak to most Americans.
4:14 - "Prejudism" Carmen is a naive flower child, but enamored with Black culture. Bruno is naive to race but a know-it-all. Rose is a typical teenage girl - she's emotional and thinks about every detail super deeply. Nick is a typical teenage boy; he's sullen and kinda jerky, and a little dopey. Brian & Renée are know-it-alls about race relations, and don't realize they're all stubborn as Bruno, if at least a little more knowledgeable of the real world.
@@dawsonhebert5601 nah. bruno arbitrarily decided from day one that *he* already knew everything he needed to know and was there to prove it. renee was open to the experience, but her perspective was constantly twisted and invalidated. instead of being sorry, carmen played victim and bruno backed her up. a sincere heartfelt apology and effort to *listen* from carmen would have changed renee’s behavior while absolutely nothing would have changed bruno’s.

@@cloutmastermemes2007 honestly I kind of feel like it's the opposite, it seems like sexuality and genders are more welcome and known now, and consider what's been going on I feel like racism is still a huge thing that no one really talks about anymore- I'd like to hear more on your opinion and the way you see the world now though!
Everyone but the white patents were so wholesome
the gangsta dude sounded like Jordan peele in the skteches lol but was spittin facts
Jesus. It’s like they made Carmen’s “disguise” right out of a minstrel show playbook. My goodness. It is horrible and looks so fake and stereotypical.
She and bruno both looked so fake
@@erin4885 especially Bruno’s LMAO
@@wdvnge All of the adult's makeup looked terrible to be honest lol! I can't believe that the show won an Emmy for makeup; the blackface looked scary and the whiteface looked sickly and gave Uncanny Valley vibes😬
@@RainbowFlowerCrow no way they ely got an award 😂😂
Actually Bruno could’ve learned real quick from a traffic stop as black Bruno 🤣
I think it’s just like they said people aren’t outward with it.. it comes off as them following you, blocking you from entering a building, calling the police and assuming the worst which can end in deadly results
The therapist they brought in just gaslighted the black couple and left.
This was an amazing show. Thank you for posting this. I hope to see a reunion show!!
I love the interactions between the parents and the other children. That is when you see the most honesty. Black dad is so praying for white dad to see racism, he refuses to realize white dad refuses to even acknowledge it because he knows it well. The moms as natural educators refused to learn from and educate each other.
yo that ex gang member, thats a real ass dude man, respect to dude. many blessings to him.
I felt that way too! Like it was on Carmen’s paper but not Renee’s.
Yooooo the Wurgel family wasn’t even a family Bruno’s real last name is Marcotulii he was on Days of our Lives as a Cop, and he wasn’t married to Carmen and was not Roses dad!!!! But it was a good idea
I hope the boy comes to his senses because he's in for such a rude cold awakening. If his parents bailed, he'd be screwed. I would've left him either Kenny for a while. 🤣 he come begging to do right.
Bruno did not ever open up.
His daughter got it.
And his wife learned something.
love how there will always be a bruno. that guy straight out of a kitchen nightmare episode lmao
This was a pretty good finale actually
this was a fun series :'>
Nick jealous I'm weak
Aww I’m all done :( they need to bring this back. And Bruno is scary
The sad thing is ppl like Bruno really exist in 2021 not a lot off ppl are like but it’s enough for it to be noticeable in today society that ppl like him exist.
The only question on my mind is, did Rose get her man? 😅
The talk at the end was powerful stuff!
Carmen saying “Bruno and I wanted to go to Rose’s black poetry performance in black because we WERE her parents and her parents would obviously be black” is a dead give away they are actors lmao. Even Rose addresses them by name instead of mom and dad always.
Bruno’s on IMDb like he’s been in actual movies smh he was probably put in this to stir shit up
Rose and Carmen are mother and daughter for real. Bruno was Carmen’s longtime boyfriend.
@@youssy6344usually people who want to get into acting will go on these types of shows so it doesn’t necessarily mean this show was filled with actors and not real family members.
If you read it that way. Don’t read into the word “were”. She was just trying to explain that they needed to be in black because she was and they’re her parents.
at 40:40 I'm literally in tears... I hope that we can all love each other.
I loved this. I would love to see more like this Awesome concept.
Black Rose looks like Tia & Tamera 😂
I said the same thing. Sounds like them too
Tia and Tamera as well as Doja Cat
An open mind can receive new information
wont lie rose is the best one on the show, she seems to be trying most to get something genuine out of it but man is her poetry cringe lol she just rights 10 second lectures they dont sound like poetry
Yeah, she's just reading speeches, not really slam poetry.
Did we all come here because of Jarvis
Yes
Yup
Yes
Yes.
Yup
this b hitting deep, making me cry real hard in a good way tho.
This is why we don't talk about Bruno
Oh please, a white American stole my pandora ring🙄. Maybe in Switzerland or a scandi country the lady could leave her wallet.
Lol seriously. In Korea I was able to leave my belongings out, but I would never do it here in America. And they way she said “well in *some* places” seemed a little .. ehhhhhhhh....
Watching this bc Jarvis and jordan haven’t done another episode
That man Kenny was a sage. Would like to get a beer with him.
I have no doubt rose will be forever a gem hope she forever keep that light shining
It's crazy the black parents gave better advice to Rose than her own parents probably would have. Her momma was hollering at her because she didn't want to be corrected for the connotation of her words. And her father is....an overt racist/narcissists.
I wish they would bring this back 😂 cant imagine how much ppl would lose there mind in the 2020s...... Anyone know any other shows like this
The Producers should of put Bruno in Luxury Car and make him drive in Malibu, Brentwood, Bel-Air, Westwood and Beverly Hills to be pulled over.
They purposely insulated him. They know the real deal...
@@jagbrit3723 mmmm. Smh 😒 that's sad 😢
Nice show
Rose. You made me cry. I felt that girl. Proud of you.
I need an update …now!!!
The wife divorced the husband Bruno. That’s all I know.
@Mohamoud Said can’t remember, but I found out that it was incorrect. They did break up after a long partnership, but according to Carmen W. (The wh*te woman), they were never actually married to begin with, but that complications from the show, and other things led them to split.
I heard that Rose has a podcast now.
@@MiuXiu where?
@@astro875 Her podcast is called Path and Purpose. Her name is Rose Bloomfield. I hope you actually care to watch it since I just spent the time googling that all for you when you could have done it yourself.
I don’t think I’ve hated anyone more than Bruno.
That white mother didn't mean it that way when she said "what up btch" or whatever it was. it wasn't directed at her, she was reading off the paper, joking about it and speaking it to the black mother. It wasn't personal. I have no clue why she got in her feelings about it, ridiculous
because thats prejudice. if it was a white woman she wouldn’t have came at her saying “yo bitch” she had an inch and took a mile.
@@poetryholden3530 Yeah youre right. true
The daughter was 19 during this. The son was 16. I have a feeling he found out she was just an actor and didn't trust her.
She's 17 here
This was a great project👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
42:11 Bruno has made it about changing his values, when that was not even the focus. The focus was abouts walking in another person's shoes to get a small or large glimpse of what goes on in their world; and to recognize rayzizm in its subtle and overt manifestations.
Wishing both families well🙏🏼
Bruno needed his ass handed to him. This was not a good conclusion bc I did not see him learn in anyway. He's blatantly racist and showed no progress, lol
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 this is so. Fuckin backwards, the rose kid , you gotta believe its going to end
I feel sorry for Nick praying he finds a connection with Jesus 🙏🏿❣️
Maaaan im invested into this series,so i went and researched some shit.....the spark family is a real family......the white family are all actors.
He gave him the OG talk..
Watching this in 2024 you would not be able do this show now 🤔
If only the Sparks were the actual family…then where was the real experience?
Ice Cube we need more seasons of this Please sir!
racism will never be gone
i wonder what feedback they got after the show. i wish they caught up with them a few years later and interviewed them. i cant imagine bruno not getting huge backlash. i think rose really grew and learned. i think her mom has the potential to grow and learn. i worry for nicholas being so closed off and shut down- there seems to be some untreated trauma there.
@ponds andlakes I didn’t know tv shows can have sexualities…
IM FINALLY FINISHED WITH THIS
I think Rose should have just been herself without black face for the poetry reading, coming from her honest self.
Based black bruno
18:08 Bruno cosplaying a watermelon???
This is the best comment here
"No body likes the police"
Damn right
Normal people do.
Yeah that was a miss from Kenny imo. "Normal people" like the police seems mitigating to minority struggles with profiling and crooked cops
4:14 - "Prejudism"
Carmen is a naive flower child, but enamored with Black culture.
Renée is more stubborn than Bruno
@@dawsonhebert5601 nah. bruno arbitrarily decided from day one that *he* already knew everything he needed to know and was there to prove it. renee was open to the experience, but her perspective was constantly twisted and invalidated. instead of being sorry, carmen played victim and bruno backed her up. a sincere heartfelt apology and effort to *listen* from carmen would have changed renee’s behavior while absolutely nothing would have changed bruno’s.
So true on your observation
