How did you get to the old united search bar? I’m trying to find Ana award availability. Help please!
Link is in the video description!
You're showing the most important part of the process which is booking the award tickets! Thank you
You're welcome!
You’re the best man! Showing actual step by step! Thank you so much!
This is terrific. I really appreciate. Have been looking at SFO to IST. I didn’t see a course on your website. Only consulting. This is really good info. Thanks again.
Wowo .. thanks a lot .
We'll explained .. looking forward to the next video explaining partner airlines booking through Turkish
I don't think anyone has ever explained the redemption process so well and in detail, thank you very much man!
Glad you liked it! thanks for watching!
Thanks for creating such a useful video! I just booked a ticket in business from Seattle to Athens for this May following the steps you laid out.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! I’m so glad you made this video bc I was stuck earlier today. Then BOOM…we booked Israel for next Fall! Thank you so much!!
These are my favorite types of videos! Actual strategy and redemption!
Thanks! Didn’t you say you like the vlogs too?! 🧐😂
Thank you for the old united search!! The new one is frustrating.
So useful! Thanks!
Love this! Had no idea there was a way to search for Turkish award availability on United, or that the old United search tool existed 🎉
thanks, super helpful video! i'd been doing award searches with the new united page, wondering how everyone else was finding availability so easily.
You're making some of the best videos out there on points redemptions!!!!
Thanks Luke!
Excellent tutorial. Thank you.
Extremely helpful, thank you
I literally just did this 3 days ago to Rome. But booking another passenger with you was a pain. Their customer support is not the best. But definitely worth it. Thanks.
Couldn’t you just make two separate bookings?
@@Venturer788 the points were in my account so I could only book me or the name of the person with the account. You have to call to book reward flight for anyone else. After trying 5 different agents I finally talked to someone that booked it with ease and only took 5 mins. Best advice I can give if they can’t help you or they are confused just hang up and try again.
Been planning a trip to visit my home country Kazakhstan for a while. I used your exact strategy and just booked DFW-IST-NQZ R/T in Turkish Airline Business Class all the way and back for 105K. This trip would cost me 5K. Thank you for this video million times! ❤
I just booked business class KUL IST NAP, then VIE IST SEA, all for 63k points and $650 in taxes and fees. Can’t believe it! Can’t wait!
Tremendous. Crisp. Clear. Comprehensive!
The great explainer with the smoothest graphics strikes again. My award redemption overwhelm meter just went down to 😅😊🎉 Max, what are your top 3 US to Europe redemption methods? I’ve only done VS, and the taxes are killer 🙃🚫
yes
Great video! Thanks
Your videos are so thorough. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You are single-handedly improving me and my family's travel experiences.
Love the channel. Just curious When’s the next “search with me” segment?
Maybe in tomorrow’s newsletter 👀😄 I haven’t done one in a while 😅!
thank you!
Please do a partner airline video ASAP! Great video once again!
Great Video man! Can you please make a best points redemption video for travelers who wants to travel from JFK to DEL? Appreciate it 😊
Just getting into all of this! Great video, thank you.
If I want to use points for one part of the route, is there a way to book the return with cash? In the past I've had to book a return flight even if I only want a one way ticket as the prices were so high.
great content as always!!!
Love the channel so helpful. Thanks. Can't wait until you do one for Japan :)
I have an older video on Japan . But I should make another

@@MaxMilesPoints Cool thanks :)
Hey Max. Thanks for your hard work and sharing. Question. Did I get it right that booking with business class ticket will be cheaper vs economy?
Love the channel used my venturex points to buy roundtrip economy tickets for me n spouse to paris for thanksgiving.
What airline
@@TheAuditorMoment british airways 130k venture x points from dfw to paris for 2 round trip economy tickets
Like the way you put this together. Why do you always recommend to choose nonstop flght? Also, Can you create a video for finding a award flight for Germany? I coudnt find any Turkish airlines flight to Germany from SFO which would be Europe2 & North America.. Thanks
Awesome content, thanks! Do you think it's too late to open one of these cards you mentioned in order to get all the bonus points to book a late June flight to Europe? I know it usually takes a few months to earn the bonus points. Thank you!
Love when channels do these, though I always wonder if getting back is as ‘easy’!
Just like the outbond flight, it all depends on award availability. Depending on where you're flying and when award availability can sometimes be even better on the inbound flight vs the outbound found.
Hey Max, did you already make that video about turkish transfer partner? Thanks Max!!!
Been watching this channel for a minute. Great content! I have a question….im looking to travel specifically to MNL from Washington DC using venture x points during the Christmas holiday weekend. Is it possible for you to help?
Love these around about ways and links to find what you're looking for (if they were obvious, then they'd be gone). I've got United points, would I be able to book the Turkish promotion of 45000 using United points, but through the Turkish site?
Can’t wait for the partner airlines video!
Great explanation
You should've made the video "too long".
I know it's all about maximizing the views across multiple videos, though, so I can't hate on that.
I'm hoping FlyingBlue will do a transfer bonus for TY/UR for December as my wife and I are hitting up EU in Feb or March, but I may have to go TK both ways because the value is so hard to beat. It'd be nice to try out AF new 777-300ER Business class though. Plus, she may like the spa treatment at AF Business class lounge in CDG prior to departure.
PLEASE make a video on booking Awards on Star Alliance partners via TK. Its a PAIN and so difficult to find any availability!
Anyway to transfer Amex or Chase points to Turkish airlines?
I had a question why did u go all the way to October .. and how did u narrow down the flight that was on the business promo .. i didn't see that flagged any where
I really appreciate your videos- to the point and very informative! Do you need to have points transferred from United to Turkish airlines before searching with the miles option?
Thanks for watching! No you don’t need points in your United or Turkish account to run a search
How often citi runs promotion on transfers to Turkish? Thank you
Hey Max.. quick question... I'm seeing Turkish also flies the AirbusA330 to some of these destinations... is this Business Class product similar to the A350 and the 787 or more like the 777???
Thank you so much!
Hi. Maybe you can publicize this. The Capital One function to convert C1 points to and third party miles, like British Airways, is NOT functional. You can’t get past the point where you verify your account via text.
Apparently, after talking with four over several hours, C1 is reworking this section and it’s not available. There used to be NO estimate on how long it will be before it’s running again I asked: hours, days, months, years and she said she didn’t know. She did say that this benefit of converting points is NOT going away.
Do you know what major cities does Turkish goes to in Europe? especially for 45,000 miles Business Class Miles from something like New York..
Where to stay if layover is 9-10 hours at Istanbul airport and can we buy just for someone else online separately?
Can I have a stopover in Istanbul for a few days before connecting to my final destination? Can I call to do this for same 45k pts?
Hey Max, can you do the same thing with Chase points ? Specifically for Turkish Airlines flights
Thank You
This is pretty cool stuff. I'm not very familiar with travel rules but is there a certain time frame limit for connecting flights? For example, fly to Istanbul then to Paris but with a long layover in between so you can enjoy some time in Turkey?
Turkish airlines promotes this, actually. If you fly business class with a long layover they'll put you in a hotel for up to 5 days, I think (I know it's at least 3 days) with transportation there and back included in your fare. I'm thinking of going one-way from ATL (or further west if it's 787 or A350) to FCO with TK Business class and tossed around the idea of a free night in Istanbul. It's on their website and you can read the deets there.
@@ryanshannon6963 this sounds like a great opportunity to see Turkey for little cost. I’m surprised this is not promoted on IG by the travel community. Would love to learn more about this
@@kimdiep6830 I'm unfamiliar with IG travel community. If you want to learn more just go to Turkish airline website and read about it, that's what I did. If you fly economy (or maybe premium economy, that's a little hazy for me) then I think they put you up for the night, but they explain all of that on their site.
In the words of the great Dr House proclaiming to Jimmy Quidd played by Jeremy Renner, "I don't do it for you, I do it for me!"
I'm not finding promotional availability for NYE to go to EU 😞
does the united old link still work? I clicked the link and it is only showing united flights
Can you do a video on how to fly from Canada to Europe on Aeroplan points that is less than the usual 120,000 Aeroplan points?
Very helpful video! I didnt know about the old United search engine. One question. If both you and your partner have Capital one miles is there any disadvantage to make two separate bookings online (one for each person)so you dont have to call them?
Good question... I wanna know too.
Great video...I'm a fan now.. Thank u.. question can I book this same flight but stay in Turkey a few day b4 I fly to Paris for the same 45k? Basically which airlines allow long lay over ?
I don’t think Turkish airlines allows stopovers on award tickets. Or at least I haven’t been able to figure it out.
awesome vid! my fiancée and i are looking to book this redemption for our honeymoon to greece. have you noticed if there’s a good time frame to start looking for award availability with turkish? I know different airlines are different with when they release saver space
yes
We did exactly like you did, but the awards promo availability is as low as 65,000 to fly out from some US airports in 2024. Turkish A may have devalued the points too. Should we peruse for this Business class? We wonder if it is as good as Polaris or Upper Class of VA.
yes, they recently updated it from 45k to 65k
Do you know if I transfer points but I didn’t buy ticket. Are those transferred points have exp date in Turkish?
Hey Max! Hoping you might be able to help with this, wondering if anyone has ever had an issue logging into Turkish Airline's website after creating an account. I have an account and have reset my password a couple different times (on different days etc.) and i'm still unable to login with any of their options!
Just tried to see if this would work for me. Its 130.000 points, and the promotion part of it for business class wasnt an option. jfk to IST
Trying to book a flight thru Turkish Airlines but the promo award does not show want to use 45000 miles
...help please!
Newbie here. @max miles points in the vudeo you mention that United and Turkish airlines are both members of the same group (Star alliance?). So can I use united points in the turkish airlines website? Can I transfer my pints from amex to united and yhen use them in the Turkish airlines?
12:26 Hey Max did you make the video about redeeming with Star Alliance partners?
Would you have a tutorial on best way to book from Tokyo to JFK one way on business class?
This is an older video that needs to be updated. But the booking strategy / method is still valid: ruclips.net/video/vH6iOMStM44/видео.html
@@MaxMilesPoints thank you! I have watched this video many time before but the issue is no award flight on the date I am looking for
I'm seeing the availability on United JFK/IST for 88k but not showing up on the Turkish app for 45k. Only seeing for 105k
Turkish is not the best at seeing its own award space sometimes. You might need to call them to check. You should check to see if you see the same award space on LifeMiles and air Canada just to make sure United is not showing you phantom award space
no way to find 45000 miles business class with Turkish airlines now. it is all 105000 miles one way
Hi Max, which airline website from each alliance has the best feature for searching/filtering award flights?
United - Star Alliance
AA - OneWorld
SkyTeam - no good choices but i'd say Air France or KLM
@@MaxMilesPoints really appreciate it
Hello friend, my name is Luis, I am writing to you from Orlando, FL, I am from Puerto Rico, I like your videos but not knowing English, I cannot understand them, you do not have the possibility of how I could understand them, from what I see in the images, you explain it super Well, I would like to be able to understand them, thank you.
Hi max, I am flying with turkish airline this coming sunday, so I created an account with miles& smiles. Can i upgrade my flight to business using points?
Hey Max! Favorite travel guru. Wanted to transfer points over from Citi to Miles and Smiles. Any idea if I need to put the TK in for my member number on Citi's end? Or should I leave it off since all M&S accounts start with TK. Don't want them getting stuck in limbo. Thanks, my friend.
Hey! I included the TK when I transferred in the past and had no issues. Other data points have mentioned that with or without the TK it will still transfer!
@@MaxMilesPoints really appreciate it. Ended up having to put the TK in, Citi wouldn’t allow it otherwise. Kept prompting an error message without. Also happened to be an instant transfer - either I got lucky or Citi > TK is now instant.
@@sperrin198787Citi transfers to TK are now instant as of last year. Though I still put TK awards on hold since:
1. It’s Free Regardless.
2. You never know. Good piece of mind knowing you’ll still have your flight even though it now takes less than 60 seconds to transfer points 😂
I have been trying this for the last hour and nothing is available from Chicago, ATL, SEA, JFK for business class nonstop to Istanbul. I searched up to June 2024 :(
The award space got snatched up quickly , the award space gets released in waves , sometimes there's a lot of award space other times there are only a few select dates
Hi Max, can we use United Airlines miles to book Lufthansa award flight or Air Canada award flights or any of the star alliance airlines? I have an offer for a United Airlines card but I rarely fly United. Any ideas? Thanks.
hmm
Will this promo happen again in the future? Looked into booking this morning for a flight from Chicago and then a few hours later the points were no longer 45k. 😭
it's actually not a promotion. It's their standard saver award redemption rate. So if you don't see the award availability now at 45k the airline can choose to release more and you might see it again later.
So if it cost 45000 airline miles and the venture x card gives you 2 miles per dollar you spend. You had to spend $22,500 to accumulate those points? How long did it take you to spend that much money? Lol
How long does Turkish Airlines hold the award reservation for you? Thank you Max.
up to 48 hours I believe
@@MaxMilesPoints Max, How long does it take to transfer from Capital One Venture X miles to Turkish account? Thank you.
@@MaxMilesPointsjust call and put on hold 2 tickets for 72 hours. Thank you for posting this educational video!
I can't see any other airlines but Turkish airlines on smiles and miles site for any flights lax to Nyc lax to Europe, nothing! tried to call and they say no availablity. I only have 66k points ,am I missing something?
Yeah Turkish airlines website is a pain
1. Find saver award availability
2. Log into Turkish airlines
3. In your account go to Miles Transactions
4. star alliance award ticket
That’s how you can search. Wether TK sees the same saver award space other airlines sees that’s a whole other thing
I checked LAX to IST. NOTHING came up for the next year :(((( is that because im out of LAX?
Turkish Airlines award space from LAX is tough. Try SFO or SEA as alternative options
I am trying to book a trip to Greece. All this is a bit confusing. And not going to lie sometimes I do question when Instagrammers or travel hackers say they can get business class for 50k points because when I go look itll be 125k +
It’s all based on award availability. In the video I show awards availability for over 2 dozen dates from Seattle to Istanbul and beyond. Hope the video is helpful and shows more transparency as to how we’re able to book business class award tickets for around 50k points
@@MaxMilesPoints Yes your videos have helped more than others. However, I couldnt log into my turkish rewards. It is missing a letter or a number I cant type in. Then when I try to reset my password, it doesnt even let me enter anything past 1 character.
Hey Siri pause the details I was looking for it. 😊
Hahahahahahaha sorry I noticed that while editing the video too. Good to know you made it that far in the video though haha
LAX to IST doesn't show any availability for the rest of 2023.
I know i just tried checking as well. Seems like I could never find business class ever with any airline and availability
what if I only have points on a Chase Sapphire but I want to travel to Istanbul on a business class seat? Any suggestions? I don't have enough on my citi card. Sadly.
You can book via United or Air Canada; it'll cost more in points though.
How do you move chase to air Canada to Turkish?
You can move Chase points to Air Canada then book Turkish flights through Air Canada
@@MaxMilesPoints Wow. Thank you!
Right now it is 135.000 miles just for one way! Is that the case or am I looking something wrong?
The devalued the redemption a few months ago. The cheapest is 65k business class one way
I did the same thing and it's 105k points and not 45k :(
i only found april one day
Mine says chicago to ktm is 52500 miles?
KTM airport is in Nepal which is not in Europe. The video focuses on flights from the US to Turkey or Europe. It’s more points because it’s not Europe
@@MaxMilesPoints gotz ya, thanks for the reply thou
Does this still work? I cant find any lol?
Yes. Might be no award availability right now. Something that’s out of my control
@@MaxMilesPoints thanks for the reply 🙏 all good though I'll keep an eye out for when there is.
could you talk slower ? my english isn’t good😢
The problem that I have with redeeming points is that people on RUclips always show NYC flights which is much closer and cheaper than flying out of LA (where I live). The cheapest flights out of LAX are usually like 20-50% higher than out of NYC.
Pretty much no matter where I want to go, it costs a lot of points.
I’m SoCal based and fly out of LAX and SFO often. You can find the same redemption rate at 45k from SFO, SEA, LAX you just need to find award availability
