On timestamp of 1:42:23 you see an Astound Broadband van. I use Astound as my cable/internet/phone company. Odd seeing a van on your video and I use that. I just love reading the billboards when I can on all your videos.
I like how I-95 is continuous from Florida to Maine it wasn’t like that for years until 2018 when I-95 was rerouted to the Pennsylvania Turnpike where I-295 was extended there.
Thank you for having this video. I will be visiting Baltimore from NC. I also will be travelling to Philly Jersey and Delaware. I might even get to New York. Thanksgiving 2022.
I've lived in MD my entire life and I agree. For outsiders, the sign should read Philadelphia at the top and New York at the bottom, especially considering that Philly is a very large city by itself. It doesn't need New York as a "sponsor" of sorts.
This is - almost literally - my Main Street - despite it being north of my house in its entirety. I call it the Baltington Express- as it connects the two Beltways. And even predates the Fort McHenry Tunnel. On some Sundays - during the summer - you can go near flat out. And with open road tolling in place at both tunnels, only traffic forces slowdowns.
There was a mileage sign somewhere near or crossing over the Susquehanna River where they listed NYC literally 171 miles away. That was really weird, considering how I-95 looked like it was quite far from Maryland to New York and yet it is just 171 miles away from the George Washington Bridge.
I don’t know if it’s true or not but - I have a friend in Maryland and he said the state uses NYC because 1) there was a missing link between 95 and the NJ Turnpike until a few years ago and 2) a lot of elderly New York/New Jersey residents drive from Florida and will take the wrong exit.
I took this route from Charlotte NC to NYC next time I’m taking the alternate route thru Charlottesville to PA then onto NYC to avoid the DC Baltimore traffic. Any Suggestions??? Thanks
You could also take US Route 301 from I-95's Virginia Exit 82 and take Route 301 all the way via the Chesapeake Bay Bridge up to its Delaware Route 1 terminus. From there, you can get on I-295 in Delaware and take the NJ Turnpike up to your NYC destination.
I remember taking this route few months ago from North Carolina to New York City late at night seeing the alleyways of Baltimore and New York
If it was only a few months ago, I'd hope you'd still remember it!

What Maryland needs is fix I-95 North Signs to say Philadelphia New York. Virginia uses Baltimore New York in the Alexandria Area
In Delaware it does have the sign Wilmington Philadelphia one 1⃣
And.nj and nyc on the other sign

Awesome ride on interstate 95 north from Baltimore MD to Philadelphia PA

Awesome drive! Loving these NE drives!!
Also interesting how i95 in Baltimore “control place” is New York and not Philly or Wilmington?
Yeah that was strange to me. Philadelphia being such a large city not even appearing as a control city until you're almost there.

@@jamesanthonygreen8233 NJ turnpike tolls are like $30 though
@@wallflower1230 Was just going t say what you said - stay off of the MD route 50, especially that bridge,. It is a disaster!

I prefer milk and cookies
This stretch is some of the worst traveling a motorist can experience.
Hellish at times
The only part that is really bad at all times is going through Chester.
