People are way too romantic about Japan, it's nice, I love Japan but in terms of roads Japan is behind the west (at least western Europe). I was doing a road trip all over Japan last year and the road quality in most parts isn't as good as in Europe, they have more pot holes, more crumbling roads than here. Then, the speed limits are very low, very often you're on country roads with a 40km/h speed limit (European inner cities have a 50 km/h), when you're lucky it will go up to 80 km/h, compare this to the typical 100km/h limit in Europe. Getting anywhere is so slow for that reason but not that reason only because traffic is another huge problem. In cities you'll often drive for less than a minute, only to arrive at the next red light, then drive again for a minute, next red light, it just continues like this for hours. They have reaaally bad traffic management in many places. Then another thing is roads are super narrow, highways are okay but in the cities it's sometimes extremely hard or even impossible to get to certain places, you often risk getting stuck. The narrowness of roads has a historic reason as they still use the roads from the time before cars were around, similar to Europe, but in Europe they would usually widen the roads at least, I've never seen THIS narrow roads. Now, this narrowness will also lead to cars being made to fit them, so they are much smaller, which is cute but it also means they are also extremely unsafe, the car bodies are really thin and they often don't have a so called "crumple zone", it's just road (or other car/tree) right in front of you, there is a reason these cars are illegal in Europe. And... for the last thing I can remember about driving in Japan, they don't pay a lot of attention very often, I've seen DRIVERS watch TV while they're driving, drivers looking at their phones, stuff like this, all the time, and I've only been there for a few weeks. To end my rant I wanna say something positive though, what I love is their politeness, in the countryside you will have cars moving out of your way once they see you're coming behind them at a faster speed, they actually move to the side of a road, or often they have these turnout areas, where they drive into and wait for you to pass, this was crazy to me, very polite!
No traffic at all. It’s amazing that you can drive from Tokyo to mt fuji in 2 hours or you can drive from Los Angeles to Los Angeles in the same amount of time
It’s so peaceful. It’s like a train or high speed rocket cruising through the air. Japanese roads are built and maintained differently. It’s clean and well made. Also the roads are made perfectly and smooth. Truly ahead of its time. Japan truly has great developments for the people to use on a daily basis. The sound barrier and glass panels around the urban and surrounding countryside with lots of house. What a way to reduce the noise pollution. I’m amazed by it
@@nymez6968it actually is :) Japan is basically the perfect place to form snow, being completely surrounded by warm oceans keeping the whole island moist all year, and as soon winter hits, the cold winds from the eurasian continent lets all the moist be snow, by blowing the moist masses up the mountain ranges of japan. This is extremely simplified, but more or less works like that.
You pushing lies and stereotypes - Japan streets and highways can get very dirty and messy - you never been and just making up model minority tropes with Asian culture
I came across your channel and watched the drive to Mt. Fuji. I loved it. Very beautiful and peaceful. Japan is something else. I pray it stay like that for ever. Thank you for sharing.
I went to Kawaguchiko last month I’m from Brazil… I cried when I saw it 🗻. It’s magical, one of the most beautiful sights i’ve ever seen. Worth of my 29 hour flight. 🎉
well japan is tiny with an extremely high population density compared to the US so obviously it's wayyyy easier for them to have smooth roads everywhere
Very cool. Mt Fuji is one of the most beautiful looking mountains in the world. Little wonder the japanese people revere it.I never been to Japan but my dad was in Japan in the canadian army for training for the korean war but I don't know if he visted Mt. Fuji. My mom's uncle is buried I think in Yokohama he died as a POW during WW2.
Even though this is a video, absolutely stunning and gorgeous seeing Mt. Fuji in the background, its like a self-portrait. I will hike Mt. Fuji one Summer in Japan in the near future since the temperature drops going higher on altitude.
I remember being there in 2016, i was on a backpack roadtrip, i found a pretty nice Hostel, im from France and the owner spended 7 years in Lyon and was speaking an amazing french, i really feel inlove with fujiyoshida and the fuji san, thanks for the video, it bring somuch good memories.
Things I noticed in the first 15 minutes of this video: 1 ~ The road surface is perfect 2 ~ Everyone seems to drive with respect and to the speed limit 3 ~ The city is so compact, every square inch is accounted for 4 ~ I want to play Gran Turismo now 😂
My goodness what a journey! I am happy that I wasn't driving from Tokyo even if you do drive on the same side of the road as I do in England. But I enjoyed every minute of it and what a beautiful view of Mt Fiji. Thank you so much for sharing this video. :)
Good luck having a smoothe and stress-free drive like that here in the UK. Our motorways are poorly maintained despite having constant road works and the drivers are always at war with each other instead of being considerate.
Definitely the right day for this drive 💙 - first scenic views of Tokyo in early morning light, full moon in the sky, and later through fog uphill to a true winter fairy tale - fresh snow, blue sky❄☀️❄, and the iconic Mt.Fuji, brilliant, sharp view 🤗, you were lucky 🍀👍!!
what a beautiful country, what a beautiful views. I miss Japan so much. I dream if my daily routine work-home-work road could look like that.
I have seen your video 3/4 time & loved it. ,very beautifull. Mt Fuji 's view. Is awesome . From India .❤ Waiting for your an other video. .pls share the back side of mt.fuji .
Best view starts from 1:31:15 thanks for sharing this
Thanks beautiful mountain 🏔️
No graffity, no dirty roads, no dirt on cars or trucks, wow, magnificent

奇跡的な天候ですね~。早朝の東京、霧深い山間、そして雲一つない雪の富士、景色が次々と変わっていくので2時間があっという間でした。日本の美しさがぎゅっと詰まった素晴らしい動画をありがとうございます!
No traffic at all. It’s amazing that you can drive from Tokyo to mt fuji in 2 hours or you can drive from Los Angeles to Los Angeles in the same amount of time
Don't try it from Kawaguchiko to Tokyo on Sunday evening. It's going to be a traffic nightmare. 🤣
I'm pretty sure you could get out of Los Angeles in two hours early in the morning
Take a look at the other lane going into the city. You might change your mind about the traffic in Tokyo.
Thank Tokyo's robust regional rail network for that. Los Angeles needs a rail network exactly like Tokyo's
And all that while tokyo is the largest city of all 😂

It's amazing how snowy Japan gets. It's not that far north but gets more snow than any other country.
Because they have a healthy environment.
@@donfredo8013 That has nothing to do with it.
ANY other country? I highly doubt that.

@@leavefrog Thats crazy. I would note have guessed that
Beautiful roads...
How I miss Japan! Beautiful view
Super! As if I myself am driving. No stress, no nervousness. Very calm, safe and peaceful. Japan is fantastic country )))
Very satisfying. Lots of familiar parts of Tokyo. Thanks.
It's unbelievable how clean it is... I'm envious

FROM THE CONCRETE JUNGLE OF TOKYO TO THE DEEP AND BEAUTIFUL GREEN OF JAPAN
I REALLY like your driving style. A+

Don’t visit Japan or America. We do not want south or Central Americans in Japan or America. Stay where you belong
I wish I could one day take a car in Japan and just drive around there for hours seeing this marvellous landscapes. Its simply stunning !
❤❤
Perfect angle, snow reflecting, wonderful memories of Mount Fuji. I am deeply grateful.
What wonderful weather for the drive too.
Me sitting here in Michigan, looking at how smooth the roads are 🤯
Hey
your country spends 800 Billion Dollar on Military and many more hundres of Billions go to other Countries.
well japan is tiny with an extremely high population density compared to the US so obviously it's wayyyy easier for them to have smooth roads everywhere
I was looking for someone else from Michigan to comment! Lol. The comparison is unreal. We need those Japanese roads SO badly😭
I miss my japan glorious life
50:58 This view + dark ambient music = perfect

The view of Fuji-san at the end was spectacular!
