As an ex-HGV driver class one of 50+years driving has got steadily worse over the years without a doubt especially when joining or leaving the Motorway. It’s probably down to the increase in traffic volume over the years, people joining the motorway trundle down the slip road and join the first lane without at a low speed without a thought of vehicles coming up behind them which causes that vehicle to swerve out of this slow moving vehicle, sometimes this cause’s multi vehicle pile ups all because the idiot joining the motorway hasn’t built up enough speed to allow for drivers in the first lane travelling at motorway speeds, people towing heavy caravans with low powered cars are famous for theses manoeuvre’s causing vehicle pile ups,it’s time people who want to tow these caravans were made to take a test to see if they are competent to handle them, the number of accidents I’ve seen over the years involving caravans on motorways is unbelievable but it’s always someone else’s fault when the police turn up,driving on a motorway is a different ball game because of the weight and speed of vehicles compared to A-roads,i grant you not all HGV drivers are the same using their weight and size to Bully other drivers, see it everyday when using the motorway they pull out on vehicles as they are being overtaken without checking what’s along side them causing them to swerve into other vehicles and causing carnage.

And the M5 and the M6 and probably every motorway. If they got a bonus for every middle lane hogger then they would probably outnumber those speeding.
Problem is the only time I see a police car is on these shows, IRL where are they? Too busy making TV shows to do real police work?

It looked like after you advised him what to do pulling off the hard shoulder he ignored your advice and pulled straight out,
Middle lane hoggers cause danger for other drivers
Big white arrows pointing left might give them a clue
Or don't hogg written on lane

I suspect big signs on carriageways would be ignored as well as white lines! Fine and point them off road, or re-take test with motorway instruction as well!

Looks like the driver was pulling out before getting up to speed in the hard shoulder.
