Present day economy makes living below your means seem impossible but it is still very feasible. Money is just a tool, use it to create the life you want
Tips only work when taken into a personal perspective, what works for you may not apply for the next person. 1. Practice "selective spending" I don't think "no spend" works out that much 2. Scale of preference on goals and even bills. 3. Save, no matter how little the percentage and Lastly invest; that's the only way to grow it without putting in the hours. Hope this works for you
I related to so much in this video! It’s okay to be boring :) I love the simplicity of meals at home, time in my garden, walks to enjoy the seasons, slow travel, time with family, reading, and learning new things. What is most important is knowing yourself and what brings you joy. Thank you for the reminder!
Thanks for your video! Very relatable to me at this point of my life in my 50s, with no children. I always thought there’s something wrong with me coz I really just wanna stay home, walk around my “naturey” neighborhood with my doggie and hubby, and watch what’s good in Prime Videos. And eat outside our small but plant-heavy patio on a Sunday morning. And also …. Roam around my closest bookstores. I have a demanding job that requires a lot of decision-making but I like it and grateful for it. However, I realized I’ve always been an introvert nerd. I Don’t know a lot of people like me so it’s good to hear that it’s okay and I’m not missing out if I don’t travel all the time or eat out at nice restaurants or watch cool shows/events. That it’s okay to just enjoy my life, with whatever my own house and neighborhood offer …. Even if this is all the time. ☺️
You are right on with so much of your content. Those small impulse purchases DO add up over time. I heard this saying once and I believe it rings true: "The chief cause of failure is giving up what you want most for what you want at the moment." Think about that every time the impulse to spend money comes along.
I recently started to get into the idea of minimalism because I found more happiness with owing less. Thank you for your channel. Change is hard, but I am sure I can do it. We just have to believe in it.
I love that you are able to find different layers of the topic minimalism and how we can apply it to our daily lives. This topic particularly hits home because ever since I’ve been mindful about approaching life with a minimalist viewpoint, I’m saving money in ways I didn’t think was possible. I am able to feel content with what I already have. With that said, I’m also learning wealth doesn’t necessarily mean the dollar amount, but the feeling of accomplishment, knowing priorities, and feeling proud. Thank you for providing an opportunity to self-reflect and remind myself again what is most important to ME and what brings ME joy.
I have been watching your videos since a long time now.. I am from India.. but I never felt that we are people from different cultures and different countries.. The things you talk about in your videos connects so so much .. its like I am watching someone exactly like me and she is guiding me for what should I do further .. people says if you can help any one person in your life in any way that means u lived a successful life… and I think sophie you are helping many like me.. I love you..❤ keep going..✨
I am not bored with minimalism at all! I have been working on decluttering and simplifying since 2005, but I get distracted and need constant reminders!
I agree. I am in a career where it’s “easy” to scale and grow and I have tried. However, at the end of the day… it’s not who I am or who I want to be. I like being small and thank you for helping me contemplate how I can be more intentional.
You demonstrate so well how a life that is not centered around material things can lead to a unique authentic person emerging. So Sophie this is not just another miniminalism channel but instead a portrait of a young lady, wise and graceful beyond her years not mistaken for anyone else.
I love the concept you introduce at the very beginning of this video: re-directing your funds. Most people don't realize - trillions are circling the world, each and every day, looking for a place to land. Taken locally, each person's hard earned money is doing the very same. Intentionally directing it toward what you want, guarantees that you will have a life you can be proud of.. Intentionally re-directing it from what you don't want,to what you want, guarantees that you can have a life free from the enslavement of debt. Thx. This was my discovery the day.
Your approach and mindset is so refreshing, and you came to it much earlier than I did. I used to have up to about 12 employees, always trying to do more. Now I am an solopreneur, and I'll never go back to having employees. Your ideas about keeping everything to yourself are spot on as far as I'm concerned. And I love your videos- Thanks!
the vibes in this video are amazing. there's just something so simple about listening to you talk, mixed with the diction and amazing editing and colour on this. as a fellow creator (just started two months ago!) i'm drawing so much inspiration from your work here. keep this up! also reflecting on similar points as you.
I love your videos: They are so inspirational and of a great example of how I intentionally live my life , From capsule Wardrobes, minimalism through items to a financial aspect , Slow intentional living -- it’s so amazing to watch🙏🏾 Thank you
Thank you love 🩷 people think that I’m so boring and I miss out a lot of fun in life. But being true to what I really love, like going out to the beach instead of malls and reading books instead of partying, makes me really happy.
This is a timely reminder that mindlessly buying stuff does not make you happy. I’ve been down that road so many times! Thanks for a very thoughtful and thought-provoking video ❤
I’m so glad I found your channel! I have just recently made the move to minimalistic thinking and I’m in the process of getting rid of SO MUCH clutter and “stuff” from our home. I was always trying to buy more bins and baskets and even adding pieces of furniture to “organize” our things and I finally realized we just have too many things. It was making me feel anxious all the time-just a sense of anxiety/dread in the back of my mind and I never really understood why I was always feeling that way. I have gone through a LOT of things and I’m amazed how much more I still need to go through. I feel like we are basically living paycheck to paycheck (although thankfully we have retirement funds and are putting away money for our kids’ education) but we seem unable to get ahead with our savings and when I was taking all of the unused stored stuff out of our house I couldn’t help thinking how much of that money could have been saved instead. It’s still going to be a long process but I will keep working on it and hopefully in a few months or a couple of years I can have much less stuff and much more saved for a rainy day! I love your emphasis on simple living! So necessary for our mental health as well!
This is the only one youtube channel i admire a lot. Sophie, your uniquiness is amazing! I learned a lot from you and it changed my perspective on life. I learned how to practice gratitude & slow living from you.. God has given you a very precious talent! Thank you so much.. keep going!❤
Your videos are such a joy to watch. How effortlessly you walk us through some key aspects of life to live in peace amd contentment. I watch your videos to vibe in, pause and reflect. Thanks a ton dear❤
Thanks for all sharing, I find myself and feel that I'm not alone. There're so many ways to make me happy but only me know what brings me real happiness
I am going to Oahu at the end of April. I went there twice last year. The island brings me joy and peace. My intention for this year is experiences. I don’t need or care for the “latest and greatest” but I appreciate nature, relaxation, and fun.
Absolutely agree. I’ve been saving for years to put my son through university. Having a goal that is close to my heart and matters to me a lot, made saving so much easier. It’s easier to walk away from things and realise they don’t matter as much to me as what I’m saving for.😊
So relatable! I am far from minimalism but I want to slow down, I could feel it when you said are we deriving value or just filling in time. Kudos to you❤
I am 23 and I do occasionally go out to restaurants but a lot of times now I spend time making similar foods at home which is helping for saving money but at the same time I do love having those experiences going out with friends
My faith has helped me so much with my mindset around money and overconsumption. True happiness is found in the lord and we are all trying to fill that void with vacations, clothes and trying to obtain a certain lifestyle. Give it over to God, surrender these things to Him and walk in His will. Peace will prevail 🕊️
You're an Angel 😍 Thank you so much for this video and I CANNOT WAIT for the second part ❤️ You're a proof to me that being yourself, being authentic gives the greatest GOOD to the world. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Sophie, for your many videos on simple living, appreciating what you have, and minimalism. There may be many videos on minimalism out there but you put it so well. I also treasure the constant reminders in order to continue living simply. I find we always need reminders and listening to you is just what I need.
You are right on again. Things do not buy happiness, the car, shoes, purses, tv’s that you thought were so important when you bought them now are gone, old and forgotten. Happiness and freedom does not come from a huge company with lots of employees if you own it either because if you are stressed, work 16 hours a day, all you are is a slave to it. Happiness comes from freedom to do what you want each day. Thanks for your sweet thoughts.
When I watch minimalism videos, it also means a calm voice that give me peace. Some videos are people talking too fast, loud voice and judging others are not minimalism for me.
This is exactly the way I feel. Sometimes we can get caught in society expectations and values that do not align with ours. Feels empowering to know other (sweet and smart) people share the same feeling. 😘
I've been waiting for a new video from you and I absolutely love this video. In times like these, one appreciates reminders like these regarding lifestyle choices one makes. And you speak your truth beautifully. The video reflects it so well. Thank you thank you thank you. Be well and thrive ❤
I love to cook and create beautiful dishes for family and friends.. this helps calm me down and keep my grounded. I love your content as it really resonates with me in being mindful.
Having children - someone other than myself to worry about and care for - was the first step towards getting my life and priorities straight. Someone once said that an individual never reaches true maturity until they’ve had someone other than themselves to care for.
Sooo relate with enjoying more organizing the closet hahaha. I love you Sophie! I remember, I was actually thinking of where to go or what to do today and tomorrow since my partner has a long weekend from his 8-5 job (he works mon-sat) & I realized I was just thinking about it for the sake of going out just like what you said. Good thing he had an interesting suggestion, he said how about we go jogging in a park that we love but never visit as much because it’s a 1 hr drive from our home and I really love that! About the video suggestions, for me I love all your videos because it’s you, I love your personality especially your voice. The ones I enjoy the most though are your routine/habits videos 😍😍😍
Love love watching 4k walk videos Greece is definitely on my short list to visit, as is Italy. I truly find your videos uplifting and inspiring thank you for making them for us.
I had my own big business and me and my husband were working so hard but we weren’t happy, we hardly got to see our friends , family because of it and the biggest regret was not spending more time with my mother in law before she passed away, so I closed it and back scaled it so I could work less hours and just enjoy life, sure it was a massive pay cut but I had everything I wanted in life already from that business. Best thing I ever did in life ❤
The pay adjustment is very hard to contend with isn't it? I was in your shoes as well and my health was falling quickly after 15 years of over 80 hours a week and no life. This is an excellent video. Your point at the end about appreciating what we have now so that we can appreciate what comes hit home for me. Thank you for sharing that. 💯🙏🏽💪🏽🧘🏽♂️
Thank you for this video i think i need it right now! 👌 I Literally wait always for your Videos and im truly happy When i see a New Video from you on my yt Feed. Thanks a lot! You always bring Real Joy & Value to my Life! Lots of love ❤
It's always a breath of fresh air! Thanks for your beautiful 😍 video And a suggestion, it's been a while since you'd made a video about your daily routine vlog and the books you read and how they are impacting you, Any quick meal ideas... Thanks in advance ❤
Dear Sophie, thank you for such an honest and valuable video as always. :) I loved your views on fun, I really believe It's very transformative to embrace what fun actually means to us personally! Not much related but can I ask where you found that claw clip you wore in the clip? I've as long hair as yours and struggle to find one that holds my hair and doesn't fall out in a minute.

Love your videos, Sophie! Truly worth the wait! I hope you post contents more often 🥹🫶
Most important is to be aligned with your truth 😇
I now live on the island, recognize a lot of place and looks like you were in Savers. Nice video you have a relaxing voice and vibe.
I'm a new subscriber and I'm just very glad that somebody has the same principles as I do. I felt seen and heard. So happy to hear that 😁❤️
Also, Thank you for the support 🙏 ❤️
4:50 sec in.... Love seeing BOTH of the dogs!! I Hadn't seen the white one in a while.

Thank you for being one of the few channels still talking about minimalism.
Whenever I started to scroll to randomly purchase things, before I hit to pay button, il come here to remind myself of “what exactly will make me happy/ what exactly that I need” - turn out I just need a walk or good book to read
Malama I loved every word that you said in this video ❤
