Hi, I’m interested in specifically what’s your issue with the BMW Nav preparation considering it allows connection of a Garmin for Navigation, the BMW Connected Cradle, which allows a phone and BMW’s own Connected Ride App, which has Navigation, and now the new Connected Ride Navigator? 😊
The issue with the app it does not work you Can’t download an pre planned wey pointed map to the device it greyed out , and the complete mess they have made of the connection from phone to bike and the lack of information from bmw them selves I rode bike not stand in the side of the road in the rain messing with Teck
Thanks for the instructions! Do I need to remove the side covers first to do this, or can it be done without? I have ordered mine without the navigator preparation. Do you know if the plug is still there then?
I'd like to think the plug would be there, but knowing BMW will probably like to charge you two hours in the workshop to install it so I don't know the local dealer hasn't even had the front off of the bulkhead yet so they wouldn't know but anyway at the moment, the navigation is not fair for purpose. Let's see if it redeems itself
Two questions what's the name and model number of the device you're using, and can you use the control buttons and the wheel on the left handlebar to control it?
The answer no the controller on the headboard does not work www.thorkracing.com take a look John does many different devices I’ve had three of them. This is the most compact and neatest device, but one key factor they all work perfectly, unlike previous versions of navigator from bmw.
What screen have you got ? I’ve got a genuine BMW tinted one for my 1300 but its got radar lines lower down ?

great video, but how did you exactly remove the plug from the socket (min 6'05 - 6'09)? You seemed to use some kind of tool? Extra info would be useful, as I'm clumsy and therefore afraid to break it...

Watching this with interest as my 1300 arrives in Winnipeg in February..what’s the issue with the Connected Ride navigator??
They have issues with the app you can’t download maps and the way it connects if you ever been in the side of the road messing with nav 5 and 6 trying to get connected you know what I mean

thank you so much for your video. I´ve been trying to ask to a BMW Dealer where the connector was on an 1300 GS? As I had coonected my garmin to a 1200 lc. So just going to conect it by myself. Regards.
Follow the instructions and it's a piece of cake. You can actually buy the connector from BMW and sold it on to your Garmin and plug it in in the front of the bike rather than having a USB hanging out in the rain.

It works absolutely perfectly with all the software. The DMD software takes some getting used to all I need is navigation and Cardo and music. It does all of these things absolutely perfectly.
