  • Dash removal to access the infotainment head, Rlink2.
    Sequence of removal
Remove the screen trim by gentle starting in the slot at the bottom, use a trim tool and work away round, disconnect the cables.
Remove the screen by unscrewing the torxs screws at the mount to dash in the back, you see these not the ones on the screen it’s self.
Unplug the cables and keep safe.
Unscrew the torxs screws from the heater controls, disconnect the multi plug and put to a side.
At this stage you can see the radio head in the dash, all the connections are at the bottom of the unit. To gain more access we need to remove the vents as follows.
Prise apart the top cowling on the steering column, there’s a cloth cover, lift the cowling up with the cover which gives access to two screws that hold the dash clocks trim. Remove the screws and carefully ease the speedo cowl towards you, it may need a tug, then put to a side.
This gives access to further t screws that secure the top cowling, remove these screws and slid and lift the cowl towards you.
The whole vents system can then come of in one piece, by pulling towards you.
Sometimes if the trims haven’t been of before it’s a little hard to start them off.
While you have any trims off it’s a good time to use some electrical loom tape, very thin cloth tape to cover the plastic to plastic contact areas of the different pieces of trim, reduces or even cuts out squeaky trims that can occur.

Do you know if the r-link ecu/head unit is just behind the screen?
