This reminds me of the case here in Australia documented in the book Sarah's Last Wish. A pre-pubescent girl was taken to hospital by her parents. They found a mass in her abdomen straight away just from examining her. They jumped to pregnancy by the father conclusion. Almost straight away they got a negative pregnancy test and found a massive tumour that she wasn't ever going to survive. They still maintained that the family were a danger as child services had already been notified. They medically kidnapped her and forced chemo on her even though she was old enough to sign a document saying that she didn't want chemo as she was going to die anyway and wanted to enjoy the time she had left with her family. Her family had her taken away from them and she wasn't even allowed out in the hospital grounds. Her dying wish was for this to never be allowed to happen to anyone else

I’ve had this since 1998, and at the time they were four stages of RSD, and I was at the worst at stage four. Exactly what Maia went through. I did the same thing. The thing that I learned about this procedure is that I will never trust American doctors compared to doctors that study from other countries, because they knew exactly what it was and I had to go through 16 doctors to finally find out what I had. I have an over 85% of my body and at times I could be bedridden for 2 to 3 months. There is no relief for me and all I want to do at times is just to die because my body gets so tired of it and it’s like you’re living off 1 foot off the cliff and just stepping out with the other foot.

@@Idonotcommentanymore this is how the doctors work when it comes to this condition. They decided to do a nerve block only to find out that the stair walk is only going to help me with 10% of my body and that is it according to the doctor they can’t do anymore which is a big joke so instead of having 85% of my body in excruciating pain it’s only gonna be 75. Now they told me I have to make a choice. A dorsal column stimulator. My choice is the stimulator could only work for me if I want my arms, hands and fingers to be some sort of relief or my legs and feet with some sort of relief. Now in order for them to permanently put this machine inside of me to help I’m being told Amy 50% success. Three of my doctor says there is never going to be in 50%. for me but may be 15% at the most. So they tell me go and tell them when they ask you and they want to put in this to tell them yeah I’m getting 50% of them success so I could at least get 15% reduction. American doctors don’t care about this condition because they do not make any money off of this condition. even though they’ve made probably close to $5 million off of me. The only doctors that know about things and the ones that really are saving or trying to save my life or the doctors that did not come to American medical schools. All my doctors are either Vietnamese Pakistani and Ukrainian etc. because they studied this in their countries of what I have and there’s a way.

And not only did it happened in America but in _several_ western countries. Even in Nordic countries which are the most progressive and particularly strong rule of law and civilized states. But if you've tried to talk about these things, you've been belittled (and often also mocked), saying that healthcare and social workers knows what they're doing and that there must be something wrong with the parents and it's a shame that the officials can't tell the 'truth' because of their duty of confidentiality. Everything is so infinitely simple. That is, for infinitely simple people, i.e. about 80-90 percent of the entire population.
But fortunately this trial came, as terrible as it is. After this, a few more people might wake up to all the injustice that is related to the industry. Perhaps. And no, I'm not a pessimist, I'm a realist with about 50 years of life experience (and I really have experienced in front of many people, unfortunately), studies, other knowledge acquisition, etc. If the people dealing with this case have any brains and heart at all, they know how to solve this. This family now all has serious trauma on multiple levels. This daughter and son now have to live without a mother who very obviously loved them more than anything. This husband now has to live the rest of his life without his partner. How dare this hospital even attempt to defend themselves in this situation. Investigate that entire institution. Trying to "prove" that a child is lying about a serious medical condition that was ALREADY DOCUMENTED AND DIAGNOSED. Then when she was getting worse in the hospital they still stuck to their guns to try and cover their own necks??? And only released her AFTER her mother took her own life from the overwhelming depression and hopelessness this hospital CREATED WITH THEIR ACTIONS. This poor daughter didn't get to see her mother for months and is only granted freedom after she's gone and it is ENTIRELY TOO LATE. I am absolutely repulsed by this tragic situation and my heart breaks for this family. They deserve justice, restitution, and an unbiased investigation of that entire hospital and all of it's staff. That kind of misconduct runs deep and needs to be exposed.

The 911 operator, “tell me why she looks dead” are you kidding me? Are those operators not trained to 1. Don’t interrupt the caller. 2. Don’t ask someone who just found his wife dead, what makes you think she is dead. She was tone deaf for sure! And definitely needs training! Did she not hear the boy crying in the background or hear the desperation in the callers voice…

If it was Munchausen, often the only motivation is attention and control. Beata was angry and demanding of radical treatment of a huge amount of a very strong sedation for Maya. Medical coma was an inappropriate demand. IMO as an RN for forty years, Beata set off multiple red flags. Her daughters confusing set of symptoms, that don’t go together, was another red flag. I’m sorry, but it is true. It needed to be looked at. The mom killing herself after three months of not being with her daughter was another red flag. Why was she not thinking about her daughters welfare at that time?

I grew up in Shriner's Children's Hospital from age 5 until I became an adult. Then I was sent to Oregon Health Science University, where I spent MANY, MANY days, weeks, months in hospital. I have Myasthenia Gravis.
Watching the TRUE LIVE (recordings) VIDEO and HEARING the recordings of those phone conversations..... We're SO SURREAL!!! It broke my heart!! None of my NURSES or DR.'s were like that.... But SOME PARENTS WERE TOWARDS OTHER CHILDREN and parents.
This was back in the mid '70's, around 1973-74 when I started seeing Drs there.
I bawled, many times watching this video. Even had to stop and walk away for a bit. Heartbreaking!!!
For Maya, 💐 Sweetie, LISTEN TO YOUR HEART, love your choices, AND NEVER GET DEFEATED!! If you can't pick a cup or rag up today... LEAVE IT, YOU WILL LATER IR TOMORROW!! Do not let people bring you down, SOMETIMES, IT JUST TAKES US LONGER... BUT WE WILL ALWAYS PREVAIL!! MY MOTTO.... CAN'T, ISN'T IN MY VOCABULARY WHEN IT COMES TO PHYSICAL OBSTACLES!! ❤

Not where a child is abducted/kidnapped & alienated from the people she loves the most. I pray that justice is carried out and that NO other families going forward will be subjected to such horror. There are NO winners in this case as Beata cannot be bought back! To know that John Hopkins denied parents their right , carried out character assassination of Beata and making her feel like a criminal! It's makes no difference how many zeros one adds to the amount , life is priceless. For a hospital to deny the parents and that Maya had CRPS and yet took money from the insurance company stating it's CRPS!!Surely this speaks volumes,Why the family is being put through yet another ordeal is beyond belief!!!!!
