I have a COLEMAN LANTERN 215BH. That I bought late last season. I love your videos because I’m new to the RV world and you’ve help me out a lot already. Keep the videos coming!
It's a $13,000 camper , that if you had to , you could live in it. I think it's a great deal, they do have upgraded models for just a few thousand more.
I like the bunk house curtains and the back splash idea, I'm stealing those....but I added a sink in the bathroom, Its a collapsible wash sink that hangs on the shower wall and drains straight down for washing hands and brushing teeth. I also added shelves on the side wall top to bottom wall to wall to store a tons on things from towels to TP.
These are really good ideas. Definitely will be looking into the collapsible sink. Never thought of that. And we definitely need some shelves as well. Thanks for watching!
I added an outlet on the wall that separates the dining area from the bunks. Dual 110 with 2 USB -A and a USB -C. Tied it into the line that is used for the microwave. I also added another dual 12v port on top of that wall. One port is power socket and the other is dual USB. In case the electricity goes out, I can still charge the phone and use an inverter to run a fan. I also put an outside light on it. Used the wire that was already ran behind the switch panel. I installed a curved shower rod. It helps a little bit. I took out the bunks and added book shelves for storage. Coleman really cut corners. I wish I had done more homework on campers, but this was a rush decision due to relocating for a job. All in all, the 17B is garbage unless you just want to go camping a few times a year. Minimal insulation and poor construction. The rooftop antenna doesn't even work. Never has.
Oh my gosh!! I was wondering about that kitchen window! Every time I've seen a video or walk thru, they never mention that window. That shower, oh my goodness! Thanks for this video!
Nice job. We love our 17B, but you are correct about the things to mentioned. The only thing I would add to you list is the fact that it didn't come with spare tire, but that it true for virtually all smaller trailers now. I solved a little bit of the issue with no power on the left side for charging phones or pads by tapping in to the radio power and installing a USB port on that side. Really good video! I happily subscribed. I predict that you will do well once you hit 1000 subscribers.
I totally agree👍I hate cheap plastic toilets, shower curtains, no shower surround, Dollar Store 4” fart fans and no bathroom sink to wash your hands, brush your teeth and shave🤢and uncomfortable “1950’s diner” booth dinettes as an only seating option☹️
hey iv got a aviner 17bh wich is almost identical to your coleman.... my A/C is not draining outside and when we pull out to head home the condensate water goes right on my bed and pillows have you encountered this ?
We haven’t however I’ve heard of this being a problem. Is the drain holes plugged? Also maybe make sure the ac side of the rig is a tiny bit lower to help with the drainage
I would suggest a shower seat to put in it and it'll at least make it easier on you (and more comfy while doing so) If the window is the same size as the other side, might be able to find one as replacement from another rv at a upull it or online. Prob have the part list or Coleman might be able to help out. I love what you did with the dining table set up!
I’ve got the 21 bunkhouse can’t move the dinette like you did because the furnace is underneath it and every bunk and both sides of the master bed. Have 110 V and receptacles for your fall.
I have this and the Keystone Hideout 175BH on my list. I'm leaning much more towards the Hideout as it fixes many of the issues you have with the Coleman.
I noticed it didn’t have a mirror or sink in the bathroom. I’d add a mirror above the toilet and add a caddy that could hold a deep bowl for a makeshift sink before I used that kitchen sink for brushing my teeth lol 😂. Not having any water or toothpaste anywhere near my bacon and eggs 😂😂😂
That’s a good idea and something to think about. There is a small mirror on the back of the door but it doesn’t serve much purpose. Nobody wants toothpaste in their eggs😂
To be honest if i nit pick every detail that is bad about the 17b . Then why did i buy it . I knew all about no sink in the bathroom not much storage . The ac unit the window and less outlets i dont let any of that stuff get to me. I got it for a reason and i can modify anything i see that it needs
Well, this RV I have one too. It is cheaply put together, but the price kind of gives you that because a lot of the smaller RVs are not having a sink in the bathroom anymore. I was kind of surprised that there was no hood over the gas burners with a Fan I thought that was kinda like a fire hazard possibly. I don’t like that. The kitchen window doesn’t open because of what I just spoke about before being that there is no fan to rid the RV of any smoke and then your alarm goes off I’d like the fireplace, but I wish it was also a furnace as well but that’s to save money and look at the refrigerator. That’s not propane driven either. That’s all electric so you have to be on campsite with electricity. This camper is not meant to Boondock at all. It’s cheaply put together the walls, I had to buy a staple gun because the ceiling and the walls are collapsing, also the air conditioner not the usual model you have to watch for leaking inside your wall. I guess you get what you pay for and with this RV, not much.
@@Thecampingloop Well, on some of the models, the factory overdid with the caulking and covered the drainage holes. So unless you're watching for it.The water is draining inside the wall.
Sounds like you bought a cargo trailer with a bed and cabinets in it. I hope it was cheap cause it sounds cheap. I get that in a 17ft trailer space is a premium, but no bathroom sink would have prevented me from purchasing it.
These are $11,000. I would expect little for something so large. I’d buy a tiny 13 foot, with less space but more quality for a few grand more. You could have heating as well, and just better materials. Also pull behind many 4 cylinder cars.

Awesome to hear! Thank you very much! Happy Camping in your new rig!
Good video to watch before making a purchase. Nice job
Glad you enjoyed it!

Just bought one and it’s a great starter. Thanks for the tips

Thank you so much for your informative videos. We have decided that purchasing a camper is not for us. I wish you all happy times at the campgrounds!
Our pleasure! Thanks so much for watching!
Love your videos! Thanks for keeping us informed. We don't like how our awning doesn't cover the back door
Our pleasure! We appreciate you watching!
You're next rig will have more of your wants... That's what we did....Good luck ✌🏿🏕
Thanks for watching!

2 of my biggest complaints! Thanks for watching!

It’s comments like this that help drive us so thank you! We also have the USB tapped into the radio. Hopefully we’ll hit 1000 soon! Happy Camping!

😂😂😂 4” fart fan! Thanks for watching!
It’s better than a tent 🏕️
@@djdigital3806 Yes it is😂
I’m a happy camper in my 2024 Coleman 17b.🤗
It’s still a small house.
We love ours!
I'd look at a diesel heater. Good vid.
Smart thinking! Thanks for watching 👍
I bought mine solely on my tow vehicle when I purchased a bigger truck got a bigger camper although the 17b is a good starter csmper
Nice! They are great staters. Thanks for watching!
Lets hit 1,000 subscribers!!!
Let’s gooooo!!!!!

I have a jayco jayflight 21 foot.. its small but all windows open, propane furnaces & 6'3 shower.. it works for me😊
Nice! Happy camping!
We made multiple sacrifices including price when we bought ours😂
😂typical

Shower seat is a great idea. At least we wouldn’t be hitting our heads. We appreciate the feedback! Happy Camping
The one sink thing is big for me but not a deal breaker
We’ve learned to adapt 👍
I’ve got the 21 bunkhouse can’t move the dinette like you did because the furnace is underneath it and every bunk and both sides of the master bed. Have 110 V and receptacles for your fall.
Appreciate you taking the time to watch👍🏼

That’s a nice rig for sure! Tough choice
We got a Jay Flight 174bh and love it, though the bathroom is not comfortable. The layout is similar to yours.
The bathroom in ours definitely is functional but not comfortable. Thanks for watching!
What is the shower height floor to ceiling and Shower head height?
Not exactly sure but I’m 6’1 and don’t fit very well😂
No range hood or a kitchen window? What were they thinking?
Range hood - good point! Thanks for watching
The ceiling look like a trailer home, boo. I'm thinking so hard about my approved loan from Camping World though.
It does😂
I wish we had more outlets especially in the bunk area.
I totally agree outlets in the bunk are a must

They can be easily modified. Good point👍
Sounds like it's a great camper for weekend trip but not week long excursions
We rarely do week long excursions so it’s perfect for us. Thanks for watching!
@@Thecampingloop thanks for sharing :)
The new 2025 has 6 inches more height so it's not bad
I’ll have to check it out!

A lot of folks do. They are cheap and that’s what we love! Happy camping.

@bobbieabbott that’s what we’ve heard. Hopefully people keep an eye out for it👍🏼
Air b and b is cheaper when you consider gas, insurance, storage, payment, camping lot fee
True but then you’re not really camping I guess. Thanks for watching!
Sounds like you bought a cargo trailer with a bed and cabinets in it. I hope it was cheap cause it sounds cheap. I get that in a 17ft trailer space is a premium, but no bathroom sink would have prevented me from purchasing it.
Might have been bett off😂 Thanks for watching!
Cargo trailers are built 3 times better than ANY Coleman, that’s why I’m building one. 💣💣🤣

I agree with all you said
Thanks for watching!
I hate when the boogers get burned!!
😂😂😂
Dont need a sink to brush your teeth. Spray bottle would work. The 2025 is much better.
Looking forward to checking it out
Not really cons, they all can be a avoided or accomplished by other means. Its a cheap trailer.
True
