I did this too best decision I’ve ever made and I’ll be putting a customer side table / storage shelves in between the bed and benches . But thank you for making this video and helping me with my space 😊
I like it. Turns the dinette into sort of a "lounge" area. You can sit in that corner with the pillows and put your feet up on the other bench. Sort of like a sectional sofa.
0:21 warning for table removal and remodel: Went as specified until opposing corner screws. They were driven deep in the wood and one was stripped. Used every tool in my arsenal finally removing them with needle nose vise grips...just sayin...😮😮
Cheap curtain rods, wife cut and sewed the one above the bench. Attached with command strips and very small screw so not to make holes in the ceiling. They work great for years now. Perfect for privacy
Easy mod and good idea. Would like see the table in there to get an idea if you did want to use it to eat on it how much room it takes up. Looks great.
If manufacturers really cared about what we think they would give us a sofa “option” for those outdated uncomfortable “1950’s diner” booth dinettes whenever possible😂
Great idea. That’s a way better floor plan. Great idea with the curtain. I would also put a big curtain in front of the queen bed for even more privacy when you have visitors.
I was thinking the same thing about removing the dinette because it takes up so much space and either replace with a jackknife sofa or with a 3 piece bistro set so you still have a table set that takes half the amount of space. Since I’m single I would choose the 17R model and do a a straight sofa design and just buy some tv dinner tables to eat on and collapse afterwards. Great idea! 💡
I wish mine had bunks. I'm thinking of adding one over the couch?? Also, add some small benches around the back to make it one big U couch. You can get those individual folding tables. They fold away nicely. My fear is to screw into the wall and possibly into Electric or something. I love your privacy curtains around the bunks too.
I cut the wall down to the height of the back chair. I installed day bed in dinette area for extra sleeping area. I cut top bunk back flush to wall to make upper storage area. Gives bottom bunk area to sit up now and still sleeps four to five with the daybed. Just have to fix AC unit since it's way too small and the RV fridge struggles with hardly anything in it.
How difficult would it be to completely remove the bunks? I was looking at the 17R that has the "larger" bath area but we do not need the bath. What we do need is a little desk space and that bunk area would be the perfect size
Removing the actual boards that make up the bunks wouldn’t be that difficult. However you’d have to consider what to do with the items under the bottom bunk.(power cord, circuit breaker, wheel well) if anything maybe just lower the top bunk to a desk height and use it that way? At least it could always be put back. Hope this helps
We had to fill 2 holes on the wall. The floor is not noticeable unless someone pointed it out. We were a bit worried what the floor would look like as well. Thanks for watching!
So what do you do about the holes that are in the floor from where it was before? I would be worried about the vinyl coming up after a period of being walked on. And if there is a spill getting under the vinyl.
Just switched mine after watching your video!
Thanks for sharing! My 17 month old love the new space too play around
That is awesome! Thanks for watching!👍

Sorry this didn’t work out easily. Thanks for watching
Wow. 🙄 So innovative.
Thanks a lot 🙄
Cool i can take out a section and put a recliner
I suppose you could👍🏼
100 times better than those decades old “Denny’s” diner booth dinettes that manufacturers still force upon us👍
That what we thought too
Dude! Watched this this morning, 30 min later done with the project. Thanks. Was trying to figure out how to make a little more room 😁
Awesome! Glad it worked out. Talk about much more room huh👍
What a good idea. Looks good
Thanks. Works well
4:37 I like it. How did you do your curtains?

Such a good idea to make more room. Looks great

Thanks we love it. Definitely should have showed with the table but still decent room. Thanks for watching!
We have a u-shaped dinette that drives me crazy with how much space it takes up. We rarely use it as most meals are eaten outside. Looks good!
Our thought exactly on meals outside. Thanks for watching!
Love your new "lounge" area! 👍🏻
Thanks👍
Look forward to more videos! New subscriber

This was a great idea for gaining more floor space and better access to all the bed storage. Looks great.
Glad you like it!
Excellent ❤
Thanks 😊
We took ours completely out and put a couch in and cut down the wall closer to the bunks
Good idea! Thanks for watching!

Do you have enough room to make the bed North South? Would be great and much easier to use..
There would probably be enough room but you’d have to reconfigure the frame
Looks good
Thanks for watching!
Great job! I don't own one yet, but I'm thinking of getting a camper like this in the fall. I enjoy seeing updates.
Appreciate that. Thanks for watching. Good luck with the new purchase!

We thought the same and actually do have a curtain in front of the queen. Thanks for watching!
Looks much better and more room
Thanks for watching!
Looks great
Thanks! Appreciate you watching!
I like that arrangement of the benches better.
Thanks! We love it
I likevthe new look so much better! Nice job.
I think so too! Thanks for watching!
Love this idea. However I need that extra bed when I go camping is there a way to still use this set up for a bed if needed 😊
Unfortunately not but we never used it as a bed. Good luck! Thanks for watching!
U have two camper?
Only the Coleman now
Have you had any problems with the wall paper seams, or bubbling in it?
We haven’t had any issues
🤔WAY TO GO WENDY ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🎉🥳🙂
I prefer this! I looked at this camper yesterday and told my husband I didn't think we would use the dinette. This is perfect
It really is! Thanks for watching!

The bunks definitely make great storage as well. Privacy curtains were simple. Thanks so much for watching!
Now you’ve given me some ideas. Also realized we’re not that far apart. I’m in Western mass.
Not far at all! Thanks for watching!
i am trying to figure out how to do this but without losing the ability to have someone sleep on it.
Some have replaced the entire dinette with a futon🤷♂️ good luck

Good idea for space! Thx for watching
good job bro i have a 2022 coleman 242bh and i am a new sub
Nice 👍 Thanks for watching! Appreciate the sub. Happy camping!
Looks good. Curious what the screw holes look like in the floor. Did you have to fill them with something?
The old holes are not noticeable unless pointed out. We did have a couple screw holes in the wall that needed to be filled. Thanks for watching!

@@Thecampingloop I didnt give much thought to that lol
Does this void the manufactures warranty? I want to do this, but i don't want to shoot myself in the foot.
Most likely unfortunately but I’m not 100% sure. It is easily undone if needed though and I’m not sure anyone would be the wiser 😉
That’s a brilliant mod! Looks amazing! Fisher Price toys LMAO
It really is! 👍
I would have left a gap between the benches some one could sit at the end against the wall.
Good point👍🏻
Just curious what the floor looks like where the former screws were for the bench you moved? Did you have to fill holes?
We had to fill 2 holes on the wall. The floor is not noticeable unless someone pointed it out. We were a bit worried what the floor would look like as well. Thanks for watching!

Small dab of grey silicone. Not at all noticeable. Also had to fill a few screw holes in the wall. Thanks for watching
😁👍👍👍❤
