I just purchased the couples model and live in mine. With the lack of housing today and insane maintenance of unrealistic real estate. This was the smartest purchase I could have made. It's a spacious and usable comfortable space. My cat and I, Love 💖 it. I work rural and camp full time. Have a river view and farm view❤❤❤

I'm about to do the same. I'm about to be homeless. I just hope I can hang onto my credit long enough bc I can't do it just yet. But it's my plan once we have to be out of the house and I know for someone with literally no money- I can't afford to be picky, but I do have to have something with a toilet; bed, and I know!!! But a TV!!! I'll lose my mind if I don't have I will lose my mind if I lose don't have a TV when I'm solitary! I just have no clue what I'm doing at all. I'm trying to find a used C class. Bc I also have to figure out if I can get towing added to my AC for how much anddddd what if I can't which I refuse to really entertain and speak into existence so I'm trying to manifest any kind of trailer that'll give me shelter bc without it, I won't make it out there any other way.
How is it in the winter? Or have you not gone anywhere really cold and with snow. (Just curious. But I do want heat and a/c. Im perimenopausal! And ya never know whatcha your gonna get!)

I have a question is legitimate to park it in the city and live in it , or it needs an empty space out of the city

    • @BecomingTemperance
      @BecomingTemperance 2 месяца назад

@@joskuspaivaa9133 it's not "legit" but there are some places you could pull it off. I think it depends on the where.... the level of crime. Like if it's a bad area. Cops aren't gonna just let you stay there. Bc of little thing called gross negligence!
But if you're blacked out and nobody bothers you. You could get away with it. However you would definitely have to move around a lot and prob only get away with a couple nights in the same spot before someone notices and calls the cops- I haven't done it yet. But I've been researching this lifestyle for 3 years now, and I have spoken to soooo many people (joined online groups to ask some questions etc) but usually they said they try as rural an area as they can, that's as close to the city bc in the city you do stand the chance of someone making you leave more then you do with nobody around (obviously). And if you're driving. Don't worry about it. Bc that's gonna be a lil tough. I don't know who lives in a van or any vehicle of any kind that parks directly in the city. Their goal is to get away from it mainly unless they're going to work. But they don't live where they work bc it's too busy in the city. Like I said. I think the where has a lot to do with that as well. Every place is different so what's a city to me may not be to you! Or could be much smaller and not as congested. I still don't know of anyone who does it, but again that doesn't mean people don't. There's groups on facebook and stuff. That would be where to definitely get your answer to this. I learned so much from those groups. They're amazing

@@saidsalaam432 tell me about it. In 2018 I wanted to buy. And my husband didn't. Well. He wound up regretting that when we couldn't even afford a trailer bc of the lot rent going from a few hundred every month. To the same as the mortgage- sooooo to rent a 2 bedroom trailer, where I live. Is between $2500-$3000 a month. LITERALLY. & anything that is affordable investors jump on. And then they HAVE to win. So bidding wars start over total shit holes.
I have no clue what we are gonna do. Our credit is now shot, we have nobody at all to help us in any way. And our vehicle won't tow a rv it's too small. So who the hell knows but I can't be homeless. I will not make it. It's been my biggest fear, due to serious abandonment issues as a kid. And severe enough to last with you your whole life. So I hear homeless and my hearts already pounding and anxiety has kicked in.
But. It's impossible without working 27 jobs. And I can't get 27 jobs.

We are going on 4 years with this camper. We chose it because it affordable and inexpensive...not cheap. We have had 0 problems. Not 1! We made a few easy mods to make the under bed storage and the under bunk storage easier to access. There is also storage under each bench. None of that was shown. Bummer... because in a small camper like this every bit is important!! My camper is a 2020. We have a 3rd drawer in the kitchen. Other than that it looks the same. That fireplace gives off crazy heat!! We camp 3 seasons no problem. I could go on, but I commented a lot on here. I'm passionate because I gave in to my hubby thinking the same as many on here. I'm so happy I did. Id say though...don't buy a 2022. Supply issues and shortcuts according to our FB group.

I like the idea a lot honestly the only issues I have is no bathroom sink really need that in a bathroom just super weird it doesn't have one and then the construction I know it's cheap but I still feel like the construction wouldn't last long especially with kids I'd rather see a sink in the bathroom and beef up the construction materials so it's stronger even if that adds to the cost some otherwise I seriously loved the very simple layout oh and one more thing electric fireplace needs to go 😂 rather just use a small space heater if there's hook ups or even a mr buddy heater if off grid just my thoughts on this one thanks for showing always look forward to seeing new videos

Yeah, the heater never cuts off in the winter because the cold leaks through the walls. I guess that's where the thermostat is in the heater, instead of in the cabin where it needs to be. AC runs all the time in the summer. Basically no insulation, so it sucks above 85°.

I’ve watched several videos on camper trailers and heard bad things about this particular model. Like that side mounted A/C leaking and the refrigerator not getting cold. It looks like a decent enough camper but in my opinion, you are better off giving a little more if you plan on staying in it for any real amount of time.

Don't expect much from the Coleman Lantern. It is cheaply built. I wish I would've researched it more, but the low price, and Coleman name, made me think it might be ok. My floor started sagging a few months ago. Guess what isn't covered in the three year structural warranty. My camper isn't even two years old. I emailed Dutchmen, and never got a response. The rooftop antenna also has never worked. Camper World doesn't have a mobile repair where I'm at. I bought this to live in when I took a new job, so putting it in the shop is not an option. Can't trade it in because I still owe $19k on a $16k camper (after 21 months). Stay away from M&T Bank. There are only two power outlets inside, and no USB or 12v power port. The insulation is terrible. You can see the outside skin from inside in some areas. You will need to put a real mattress in it. There is no outside light, but the wiring is run to the control panel for it. I got a light and switch for less than $15. C'mon, Coleman. Do better. The new 17R has a better floor plan if there's only two people. This is a good camper for folks who need a light camper and only want to go out a few times a year, and it better be in the Spring or Fall. Anything outside of 35°F - 85°F, and you'll wish you would've stayed home or gotten a motel. Spend a little more for quality.

Now onto the camper, the thing leaked water from the sink right away, whoever built it never tightened the drain/trap for the sink, it leaked and water stained the bottom of the cabinets
The a/c is a window unit, it wasn’t installed correctly there is a ambient temperature sensor in the condenser, it let water run down the water and drip off the front of the a/c unit down onto the bed.
The refrigerator is starting to act up and we’ve only used this thing 3 times since January 2023 but we’re so far upside down on it we can’t sell it
      NEVER AGAIN!

This thing is no good under 35°...maybe 30°. Under 20° and you'll need to wear a jacket inside. The insulation is terrible. There are areas where there is no insulation in the walls. The area under the sink matches the temperature outside (hot or cold). It got down to single digits here in central Arkansas, and I had condensation frozen on the door frame inside. You'll definitely need some kind of skirting. I used styrofoam board the first year. This past winter I double layered a 10mil tarp. Both worked good down to about 25° to keep underneath above freezing. Our cold spells don't generally last more than a few days at a time, tho. I put a small 1500w space heater under a couple of days when it really dropped.

  • @Redfour5

I saw this and couldn't believe it. In 2017 I got this unit in an Aspen Trail 17BH. ruclips.net/video/X6zae4WOwiQ/видео.html
They also had the Colemen version same trailer different badging. The price was about the same. I actually had it for three seasons and ended up trading it at a profit during Covid for an upgrade.
The difference? Back then, the back "bottom" bunk was 40 inches wide, like a teenager could sleep comfortably in it. Most including the new ones have like 28 to 30 inch bunks.
It had doored above bed storage AND a furnace...a real furnace. I flipped the axle when buying (you can still do this) and got another six inches of height. They put a small fridge under the countertop area and where they put the fridge now was a cupboard. I mean why do you need the big fridge for a trailer designed for three days out max??? The cupboard storage was fantastic...
I had to buy a two step for the entrance, but it was only about 75 bucks on Amazon took a half hour to replace, sold the single step for 30 bucks. It had decent sized tanks... had the sealed underlayment with heat vents to the tanks making it three season. I put decent tires on it and it was a fantastic first camper and with the raised height, It would go most anywhere. And since it was pre-Covid, it was built like a tank with never ONE single issue.
The best difference imho was the 40 inch bunk bed in the back... WITH A FULL WALL. An adult/older teenager could sleep there comfortably... The side airco worked well, BUT you need to make sure you level it so that side of the trailer has a slight bit of out of level toward the airco side so it drains outside the trailer instead of inside. I never made that mistake, most do and that still applies to the new ones. IF you understand that. worst case is buying a new airco pulling the old out and putting in a new one about 180... AND, you could get one 6400 btu with a heat strip for another hundred and that put out as much heat as the...fireplace... So, if the "fireplace" goes out, pull it and get a air conditioning unit with a heat strip and you should get a bit of storage.
The whole thing would run on a cheap 2200 watt generator that was extremely quiet are cheap AND that would even run the air conditioner on the small trailer, so remember that if you get a new one...
So, if you can find a used 2017/2018 version of this trailer I'd buy it in a minute over the new one...
