My swimming coach said that if you are relaxed in water, you will never sink!
If you are anxious or nervous, the water will not be your good friend!
sinking depends on your buoyancy, and buoyancy does not depend on your level of relaxation.. fire your coach!
@gertleroy Yeah I sink like a stone no matter what. I have low body fat. But I actually enjoy being able to sit at the bottom of the pool:)
Isso é verdade. Estou aprendendo a nadar agora, com 26 anos. Por experiência própria, percebo que quando estou calmo e relaxado, não afundo. Mas quando estou nervoso, afundo.
Peace in every breath
Why does this have so many likes😂😂😂

I’ve found that the less I think about the dive and less I think about how far I’m going to swim.. the further I actually go
exactly ✌️

Nah bro! It really be my lungs
Her pant ate 20% of the momentum
train hard, compete easy 😎
Yeah lol
Just recently accomplished this goal. Shooting for 50m now.
Good luck!
Try hyperventilating before the swim. Breathe deeply and quickly before swimming. To the point of dizziness.
@@mikhail4504 very bad tip, don't do this. If you hyperventilate your body won't make contractions anymore which means you won't feel when you're out of air. You can black out without even realizing it (and drowning because of it)
@@jordiboy109
Nothing bad will happen.
1. 50 meters is a short distance for diving.
2. The ability to dive 50 meters is determined not only by the respiratory system, but also by swimming technique. You must swim 50 meters underwater in a minimum number of cycles. No more than 15-16.
3. Blackout does not depend on hyperventilation.
4. Someone MUST insure the athlete.
@@mikhail4504 1. 50 meters is not a short distance for beginners, suggesting hyperventilating to people who have no idea what they're doing is dumb.
2. With bad swimming technique 50 meters becomes even harder, which makes it more unlikely for people to be able to reach it because they will use more oxygen.
3. Blackout doesn't depend on hyperventilation, true, but it stops your body from making contractions, which is your body's way of saying you need to come up for air.
There isn't a single freediving school in the world that would suggest hyperventilating before going down, because it's dangerous. You shouldn't misinform people like this, if you even know what you're talking about, which I doubt...
Swimming closer to the ground of the pool is easier under water .. especially for a distance like 25m
I was able to hold my breath for the duration of this video. I haven't swum in years. I'm happy to see that I still got it.😊
What prevents me from going 25 metres underwater:
1- my ears will bleed
2- the sea will push me upwards
I also do😂
What do you mean ears will bleed?
@@MrVeryfrost He is referring to 25 meter of water depth.
I think this is about swimming a distance of 25m, not swimming 25m deep
(1) close your nose with your fingers and slightly press air into your nose.
(2) the air in your lungs will be compressed the deeper you dive until your body's buoyancy is less than it's weight and you will sink. In my case, this is the case at a depth of around 3 m.
The camera man is op
me! 😁😁
Without the fu..ing Shorts she would have done 50m!
Peace in every comment ❤
In summary all these come naturally over a long time of consistent swimming. There are no short cuts.
So what should we do instead? How can we learn to relax and stop fearing water pressure on our chest?
watch all my long format videos 👌
Simply get used to it. Practice step by step in a safe environment. Swimming is a lot about being relaxed. It takes time.
Thats good technique to make more difficulty in swimming.
This is true.. thank you so much for this. I will get better by this
all the best!
@@gertleroy I do have a quick question/story. On Monday, I had an audition where I had to swim 8 laps (31m) then have 3-5min break then one breath hold four times with a mono fin. At that point, at one time I used to be able to go on one breath, 1x, but this time, I didn't know what to do on top of having my heart beating faster, so I did come up for air and then swam on my side the remainder very fast. Each time it was at the halfway point give it take at the 6 ft and then I came up like a whale and then back under and swam on my side. And after that we had to dive down and perform, (this was for a mermaid performance show, this was how I found you), but by then I was getting cold. What should I have done for that ( Aerobic, getting cold, mindset, audition nerves, etc?) Think Navy Seals training!
I did land aerobic training and breathing too.
Btw, they said my swimming improved exponentially and that they could tell I worked hard and was proud of me, bc this was the second time trying out. So I honestly say your videos among others helped greatly
I am in swim team and my best stroke is breaststroke and at the beginning ass part of our underwaters we pull down with both hands like teh girl did in teh video and when you put your hands back up it helps to shrug and brush your hands across your torso
❤ swim
Yes I had the same issue when I relaxed I was able to complete 25meters and further RELAX
Peace in every breath sounds like an udyr line
And 3 the jorts which restrict flow
Lessing nr 1 what’s holding you back from swimming under water is: What you should wear! 💀 😅
She doesn't need an Oscar she needs air
So peaceful..so beautiful..as a weak swimmer..I can relate better
Bro, why is she swimming in jorts??
I can not even hold my breath until the end of this video
Should we take out all of the air from our lungs before before we dive in ? Or diving can be done by holding on some air ?
on full lungs you will be able to hold your breath longer, but you'll also be more positively buoyant. meaning will always have to swim in a small angle downwards to not float back up. Which is perfectly doable.
If You exhale aitrle bit you'll float back up less, but it'll be more difficult to hold the breath.
Please watch my video HOW TO DNf
What really keeps me from doing this is i keep getting pushed to the surface no matter what
Totally agree! Buttttt, is it better to swim faster underwater or more relaxt (and more slowly) to reach the 25m horizontal? I keep asking myself this question hahaha, hope u can give me an answer 🙏🏻
watch my video HOW TO DNF
I will look for it 🙌🏻🙏🏻
My record breath hold on land is 2.05 mins and in water is 1.02 mins I always feel weird and like water is going up nostrils in water
Now , I am swimming freely the 25 meters UW with hand strokes only.
I shall try this tip! I really hope it works
Gracias
True, cause I'm in this situation
I can hold my breath and I am relaxed. I am able to move forward, my problem is my buoyancy. I go under but my body always rises back up and I can only be underwater a couple of seconds I don't know how to stay underwater longer, please help!
True
Yeah 👍👍👍 you are absolutely right Sir.
So let’s talk technique… what’s going on with the arms and legs here? Kind of reaching with the arms. The legs are slapping together? It’s hard to see from this angle.
please search for my video GERT LEROY HOW TO DNF
I want to do that!😮
Do you need to exhale completely(empty lungs) to swim underwater
you HARDLY CAN BELIVE IT , JUST LIKE MYSELF IN MAY ADVANCED YEARS, BUT... I REMEMBER THAT ONCE IN A LIFE TIME I HAVE swam 75 METERs - similar technocue - under the water. 50 meters olimpic swimmpool and half the back. without breathing - fully underwater. no fins. underwater breast like stroke.
I can do 35m underwater.....u r 100% right
#actividadfisicasalvavidas instructor personalizado exelente 😊
Нет никаких проблем проплыть под водой 25 метров. Проплыть 50 метров гораздо сложнее.
Also wearing tight/sleek swimwear will help. The girl in the video has a serious amount of drag from the back of her shorts scooping water.
The part we're he said "but it's your fault" 😂😂😂
I tried to hold my breath with and I was about to die
I can hold breath barely for 30 seconds, without diving. But can swim 50m underwater because i got that goal an i know i will reach it. I guess its much about the thinking.
Thanks for your tips my brother is underwater since 2 days..
(Just a joke)
Oh no😎
What is holding me back? Nothing i can do it anytime
25m wasn't hard for me, getting to 50 is. I keep stopping around 40ish
nice, she makes it through the pool while still braking. Maybe she wants to finish the kick and release those brakes (her feet).
Doing this in the sea isn’t that fun since I am just floating upwards
Swimming in jean shorts???
her stroke and timing are wrong.. you can even see her moving backwards because she was doing the kick together with her arm stroke.
timing is right. this is freediving (dynamic no fins), not breaststroke swimming
@@gertleroyno it is not correct. you can see it at 30s mark. she was moving backward and this is all because of the reason i said above. it's about science not just about strokes i was doing similar mistake for several years until my coach corrected me to improve my glide underwater.
@@chikabel3282 she's not going backwards. it seems she is but that is me (the cameraman) accelerating so it seems she goes backwards. please watch my video HOW TO DNF
@@gertleroy no thanks. i prefer to watch well-informed videos. no matter how many times i watch your yt short, i can see her moving backwards everytime she does the kick and pull together. the evidence speaks for itself so please do not be defensive.
@@chikabel3282 in my video I analyze the DNF technique of the world record holder Mateus Malina. How much better do you want to be informed?
Bro sounds like master oogway
Can anyone tell me which style is this?
Frog 🐸 🤔 😂
Красивый вид спорта
No need to swim UW more than 25 meters. and you do not to be relaxed. the stile - the best one fpr me is when you add a dolfin kik , after the breast stroke feet kik . and you move your hans carefully when taking them back to the glide streamline posision.
Personally, I have no interest in playing competitions with fish, there are those who can stay submerged more in the water, and there are no ones who reach deeper into the water, each species in its place, the fish in the water and humans on the surface, I am practicing swimming, but I do not plan to compete with any fish 😂
So relaxed you don’t notice you’re wearing Jorts
No I am a beginner and I can do it
This technique of a breaststroke is not good. Too early kick before in torpedo position.
Is this technique that would be not optimal under the surface during normal breaststroke not sloppy under water?
i cant even swim or go underwater hell nah
edit: roses are red violets are blue. i liked my own comment cuz no one wanted to :(
edit: i did not expect for this many likes
25 ... easy - never try more than 30, if you are not supervised !!! ... or you may rest in PEACE...
I can do nearly 75 lol but I am an artistic swimmer. I wouldn't even try 25 if you are not supervised!
I find it's excessive buoyancy that's the most limiting factor.
Wait… is… she… wearing a short jeans?!?😮
Is it possible!?
You must wear a swim cap
wow ❤️
Roses are red violets are blue I liked my own comment bc no one wanted to
What is that
Wy is she wearing a shirt and shorts
no time to change. busy life
@@gertleroyno time to wipe the ass either?
I consume as a swimming coach, that style is breast stroke
i'm just here to look at her body....lmao
NO había ropa de baño?
Why is she wearing shorts
I always thought it was disrespectful to wear street clothes in a pool
😂 will do 50 mtr
What’s holding her back is those shorts?
Yea I try to take a few mins every time to relax before I get in. Side note: I swim in trunks so her shorts seem more realistic to me. Most guys wear trunks when swimming. Which is why is I try to practice a longer breath hold.
Ok but why she got khakis in the water
Actually those girl technique is far from good as well. She is beautiful though. Lol
And three your clothes !😂 use a proper swimsuit 😂 whats wrong with you people?
So how do you relax ?
