    My swimming coach said that if you are relaxed in water, you will never sink!
    If you are anxious or nervous, the water will not be your good friend!

      sinking depends on your buoyancy, and buoyancy does not depend on your level of relaxation.. fire your coach!

      Try hyperventilating before the swim. Breathe deeply and quickly before swimming. To the point of dizziness.

    • @jordiboy109
      @jordiboy109 6 месяцев назад +5

      @@mikhail4504 very bad tip, don't do this. If you hyperventilate your body won't make contractions anymore which means you won't feel when you're out of air. You can black out without even realizing it (and drowning because of it)

    • @mikhail4504
      @mikhail4504 6 месяцев назад

      @@jordiboy109
      Nothing bad will happen.
      1. 50 meters is a short distance for diving.
      2. The ability to dive 50 meters is determined not only by the respiratory system, but also by swimming technique. You must swim 50 meters underwater in a minimum number of cycles. No more than 15-16.
      3. Blackout does not depend on hyperventilation.
      4. Someone MUST insure the athlete.

    • @jordiboy109
      @jordiboy109 6 месяцев назад +6

      @@mikhail4504 1. 50 meters is not a short distance for beginners, suggesting hyperventilating to people who have no idea what they're doing is dumb.
      2. With bad swimming technique 50 meters becomes even harder, which makes it more unlikely for people to be able to reach it because they will use more oxygen.
      3. Blackout doesn't depend on hyperventilation, true, but it stops your body from making contractions, which is your body's way of saying you need to come up for air.
      There isn't a single freediving school in the world that would suggest hyperventilating before going down, because it's dangerous. You shouldn't misinform people like this, if you even know what you're talking about, which I doubt...

      (1) close your nose with your fingers and slightly press air into your nose.
      (2) the air in your lungs will be compressed the deeper you dive until your body's buoyancy is less than it's weight and you will sink. In my case, this is the case at a depth of around 3 m.

      @@gertleroy I do have a quick question/story. On Monday, I had an audition where I had to swim 8 laps (31m) then have 3-5min break then one breath hold four times with a mono fin. At that point, at one time I used to be able to go on one breath, 1x, but this time, I didn't know what to do on top of having my heart beating faster, so I did come up for air and then swam on my side the remainder very fast. Each time it was at the halfway point give it take at the 6 ft and then I came up like a whale and then back under and swam on my side. And after that we had to dive down and perform, (this was for a mermaid performance show, this was how I found you), but by then I was getting cold. What should I have done for that ( Aerobic, getting cold, mindset, audition nerves, etc?) Think Navy Seals training!
      I did land aerobic training and breathing too.
      Btw, they said my swimming improved exponentially and that they could tell I worked hard and was proud of me, bc this was the second time trying out. So I honestly say your videos among others helped greatly

    • @gertleroy
      @gertleroy  7 месяцев назад

      on full lungs you will be able to hold your breath longer, but you'll also be more positively buoyant. meaning will always have to swim in a small angle downwards to not float back up. Which is perfectly doable.
      If You exhale aitrle bit you'll float back up less, but it'll be more difficult to hold the breath.
