I was trying to explain the exact same thing to someone recently. Reversing around a blind corner on the Amalfi drive! Sat on the coach on the outside! Not for the faint hearted, these guys can drive!!
So many ways to improve this experience: 1) One way traffic lights 2) Widen the roads by 1-2 meters (tunnels are the exception) 3) Install concave mirrors on blind corners This seems like a frustrating experience - instead of being able to focus on the beauty of the surroundings, people concentrate on the road.

Not because it's so difficult to maneuver so tightly, but because you have to drive so slowly, stop so often in such hot weather. From the other hand - the challenge looks pretty cool and rewarding. do you know the length of the road? have you seen the video until the end? there are houses along the street. how can two traffic lights at both ends control the traffic of the people who live in the middle?
You can't imagine how many people visit the Coast. Your "solution" is impossible. This is the only road that connects all the villages on the Amalfi Coast, and doing as you suggested is IMPOSSIBLE...
Reminds me of when I used to drive buses along the coast in North Norfolk UK, accept instead of really narrow roads with cliff walls you had peoples buildings, or brick walls. I spent an hour in a 500m stretch of village in "Stiffkey" and "Cley" village because of the traffic during the summer which was quite regular during that time. Sometimes we had small 28 foot buses sometimes we had 40 foot tempos. I miss those days.... sort of!

Saw the mopeds flying by. Priceless.
I've ridden on European tour buses. There is a special heaven for those drivers. They do magical things with them.
I was trying to explain the exact same thing to someone recently. Reversing around a blind corner on the Amalfi drive! Sat on the coach on the outside! Not for the faint hearted, these guys can drive!!
I live there and take the bus on it almost everyday… and I really enjoy the face of the many tourists first scared and then clapping the driver 😂
Damn this driver has too much patience

This is one place where a couple of self drive vehicles thrown into the mix would make it real interesting.
Oh man they'd just drive off a cliff in embarassment
So many ways to improve this experience:
1) One way traffic lights
2) Widen the roads by 1-2 meters (tunnels are the exception)
3) Install concave mirrors on blind corners
This seems like a frustrating experience - instead of being able to focus on the beauty of the surroundings, people concentrate on the road.
Just stick to singing mate, or maybe not!
Genius, I bet they never thought of that! NOT. And all those roads have tunnels.
Captain obvious joined chat.
Like they didn't thought about that genially baked idea... LOL

It is most likely automatic

Warum sehen Italienische Busfahrer so cool aus? Als würden sie Urlaub machen und zum Spaß Bus fahren.
I was in Switzerland once. And they drove as good as those guys. So calm and so precisely
In Switzerland people know how to drive and behave. Nothing like this.
@@mikatu Swiss only know how to make cheese, chocolate and bank with thieves.
Yes in Switzerland it was for sure an Italian bus driver🤪
The drivers in this video behaved well, didn’t they?
As a person who hates crowds - I find it terrifying. Extremely stressful drive. Not because it's so difficult to maneuver so tightly, but because you have to drive so slowly, stop so often in such hot weather. From the other hand - the challenge looks pretty cool and rewarding. So as much I hate crawling in traffic jams, this actually looks entertaining enough to compensate for that.
I love it how all the vehicles are freeing up the space for big buses to pass.
It's the law
@@gaia7240 Really, is it? I thought it was sort of common sense.
@@dontcallmethat7240 well yes it should be also common sense if you don't want to be a jerk😅 but if you are approaching those kind of turns you have to give space to the biggest vehicle
Totally common sense, you wouldn't want to crash your 3.5 ton vehicle into a behemoth going 10 times it's weight
Ah i remember some years ago, when i went to the Costiera Amalfitana, one of the most beautiful place on earth, but driving on that road was so scary ;-) if you can visit place, you can also move from town to town with little ferries, but driving on that road and stopping from time to time to look at the scenery is a memory you will keep forever.

My beautiful country 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
What is so beautiful about this buses
Indeed! Yes! 👍
I was on this Bus trip in the early 90’s, hair raising but fully enjoyable, the Bus drivers are fully skilled and certainly know what they area doing.
Just my idea they could have installed mirror at all the turnings...
except there's a turn every 10 meters XD
Think about the sun pls .
We do have them installed at every dangerous (by Amalfi coast standards) turn but most times they get hit by strong wind or buses.
Just my idea, why there are driving buses there...
Or make another fucking road😂
Love you brother from india. 🇮🇳
All they needed some red lights traffic light at both ends.
do you know the length of the road? have you seen the video until the end? there are houses along the street.
how can two traffic lights at both ends control the traffic of the people who live in the middle?
That only counts if your goal is time efficiency. Maybe they’re not that interested in getting as much as possible done in one day :p
Well said the road minister needs to fired. He doesnt know his job.
Should make the road one way, and reverse the direction every hour :-D
Yep....
But no; Let's do it the hard way, even if a few cars get run off the cliff......
Ahhhh how I miss that... loved it when living in Napoli..... the driving was a Insane !!!!!
Why not install a traffic light with detective sensor...
but e where e do we make a la the smalle talke mama mia!
Because that's so american.
A light that detects detectives onboard the buses ??? 🤔🤔🤔
Why not build smaller ptv?
Cause would be too easy then
Italy really beautiful, thank you for this sent the video. When I watching enjoyabled.
they should use this road as time sharing. one hour or 30 min for each direction.
That's an intelligent solution. But I doubt that all the politicians together sum 1 brain to be able to think of that.
Wewe
You can't imagine how many people visit the Coast. Your "solution" is impossible. This is the only road that connects all the villages on the Amalfi Coast, and doing as you suggested is IMPOSSIBLE...
the road takes a bit (helluva lot) more than an hour to complete
OMG what a great idea! Why didn't I think of that
Driver skills ans patience👍.

We did a similar journey but in the pitch black darkness, November 2021. These drivers are extremely talented!

I miss those days.... sort of!
didn't expect to see my home of north norfolk mentioned on here hahah, have to agree it's pandemonium in summer! nicer once all the tourists have buggered off.
