How I made metallic lenses for my RA-7 droid.

This was a relatively easy and cheap way to make the lenses metallic silver on my RA-7 droid. The paint is available at many hardware stores for a few dollars and looks pretty nice.

I made pearl white bubble lenses for my movie version venom mask and people can't figure out how I did it. It's under my vids in Chan if you want to see. No fogging and air flow through the lens.

It’s a good tutorial, thanks. I would have made the lens material with extra on the sides until I was done painting, then trimmed to the correct size. It looks like some of the unused lenses had buckling where the material stretched around the curves.

They make mirror window tint that is like a mirror on the outside but you can see through from the other way, it may be hard to conform to a curved surface like that though

Yep, that stuff is awesome. I've wanted to try applying it to the plastic before vacforming. This setup was super quick turnaround and no time to experiment much.

Have you found a reflective metallic silver tint (similar to sunglasses) that works for flatter lenses, visors, and such?

Hi Mate...I did something similar for Zero...just a thought . Did you try just dusting the inside of the lens so you don't need that additional layer ?
