The mixing was rather poor with the Backing Track being too loud, resulting in Javier turning up his sound and Abasi to get lost in the mix. The good thing from this however is we get to appreciate and clearly hear Javiers rhythm track!
8:16 It's little moments like this that I truly enjoy about watching bands live. Javier starts doing pitch harmonics, then Tosin decides to join him and kinda have fun with it, giving each other looks like "Hey, this sounds kinda crazy together". It shows how good of friends they are and how tuned in they are as musicians

Matt was going to play with them but the safe amount of face-melting the 2020 NAMM audience could handle was calculated and a full band concert would have been too much.
t3hgir the full band threw a massive face melting outdoor concert on night 1 of NAMM, was my first time seeing them. Absolutely incredible.

I feel bad for Javier I mean dont get me wrong Tosin is amazing. But Javier is an amazing guitarist to and I fee like people are like oh tosin abasi and that guy.
That's what also crossed my mind. Javier can play almost as well as Tosin - he has to, or he'd never be able to cut the mustard on those parts. All he lacks is some of the weirdo Tosin techniques. Yet his whole job, the way he makes his living, is being Tosin's musical sidekick, and it must be a bit thankless as far as public acclimation is concerned. Of course he may be just fine with it - serious musicians know what he's doing, and that he has to be rock-solid on some very difficult tunes. Plus, he doesn't have to always look sharp, and he can wear an old T-shirt or grow a big beard. Tosin can't.
Everytime I see an AAL live I feel bad for Javier even if Tosin is my favorite guitarist all time, Javier is an incredible guy very talented and who dont gets the recognition he deserves

@@JacksonRiddle90 a lot of people call a metronome a "click" and the click track refers to a separate track running in the daw (this show is running off a laptop to play drums, bass and layers) that is responsible for the tempo, time signature, and feel changes. it's literally a track with clicks lol

My problem with djent sometimes, its just sounds like screeching and noises, like some horrible dupstep and you think you at the dentist getting drilled. I like djent/dupstep, but sometimes man, sometimes....
Yeah in my own writting I like to input elements from it from time to time but a whole entire song especially and album unless infused with a genre I like then it is unbearable to listen to. I'm only on this video for the comment section.
