His shadow is trying to keep up
Technically true
Hahahhaha
hahahahahahahah
Who’s giving the order?
😂😂😂
26:10 - "that was a different minor"
Tosin you legend
I wonder if no-one laughed because they didn't get the joke or if it was too uhhhh illegal lmfao
Can you explain it?
Minor is an individual that is under legal age, which in the USA is 18 all though some laws vary by state.
That's a line he stole from Epstein.
LOOOOOL @14:16 was the biggest shade on Metallica ever. Well done.
Damn those Fishmans sound great. Seems like they came out of nowhere and now everyone and their mother's using them.
I bought the TAM10 which has ionizer dimarzio's. And they sound pretty good aswell. But i gotta admit that Fishmans are the best.
I just got some fluences for my Agile 8, absolutely the best and most clear pickups I've ever played especially considering they're active pups.
''everyone and their mother's using them.''
maximum lol
Yeah my mom just got a set for the kitchen. The blender has never sounded better....
It's called marketing.
Really good to finally see an interviewer who understands theory and asks questions about Tosin's knowledge rather than the standard questions that are in every other interview... would have been better if he didnt stare at his phone all the time though
i think he wrote the questions on his phone, it just looks disrespectful, but i think it serves the same purpose as a notepad
i tell u has someone that already did interviews, it's highly stressful and when i get nervous i forget many shit, so even tough u might love the person and know a lot about him , it's better prepare yourself before and make a guide of the questions u want to make
He didn’t even know what a fucking Herta was lol
@@15Puzzler15 if you aren't a drummer or dont know anything about drumming, that's common
i like the interviewer, he did his homework on tosin. from knowing about the neck profile to knowledge of how he writes
Octavian Malcolm tosin is amazing. If I get the chance to meet and talk to him, I would also try to find out as much as possible in advance. He deserves that respect more than other so called "superstars"
I was raised with all the classic metal from 80s - 90s great metal/rock bands, to 2000-2010 numetal- metalcore, I love all that styles, but this nigga... bruh this is something new, something fresh, extremely original, when I listen to him or AAL, I feel like the man is doing concrete science with the music, thing which I love so much, Tosin takes the guitar to another new level. Every note/song he plays is a pleasure to my ears.
This guy is playing on his own league. No competition.
Tosin: "maybe I can jam a song now?"
Andy: "ummm not yet.."
Daniel Flores lmao
8:37 just absolute sweet sound
36:45 them accents tho - Abasi would totally play Bleed with the thumping technique
An AAL thumping cover of bleed would be the coolest shit.
"An AAL", "bleed" and "shit" in one sentence.
Ahah genius !
Tosin uses his pickup selector so fluidly while playing it's awesome to watch
38:40 Smooth, Tosin, very smooth. Great clinic, had some great info and a bunch of laughs, Andy is a great interviewer, too!
This video is pure gold, I've been trying to Learn the tempting time solo for ike 4 months and whenever he said that it was just him arpeggiating 3 chords everything just fit together so perfectly
When he misses a note it sounds better than me hitting the note perfectly.
lol
Story of all of our lives... thanks for the (truth) laugh
He never misssd
I love that tosin explores outside the realm of whats standard metal tone by exploring new techniques and single coil's ect. We need people like him to keep pushing the genre of metal forward
His shadow is really fond of that microphone...
This guy is so incredible. That CAFO tapping riff gets me everytime.
Tosin Abasi's left hand is a thing of utter beauty and wonder... I could watch his fingers move forever.
I saw him a/b ing the Fluence set against BKP's, DiMarzios and SD sets and it was all close ups of the middle of the guitar and the fret board. About 10 mins in I'd completely forgotten about the sound of the pick ups just watching his hands move... could tell you for the life of me which sounded better.
Omg yes 🤣
This guy and Victor Wooten need to make an album together O_O
''Battle of the slaps'' with both of them facing each other with a raised backside hand ready to slap each other would be a funny cover album
drdyna This guy snd Evan Brewer have to make an album together
he's doing one with michael angelo batio in nitro
Imagine les claypool, victor wooten and tosin abasi jamming all together.
for real? lmao
He just thump'd Bleed wtf.
There's a cover of Bleed here on youtube where the guy thumps all of it
So glad the he gives Yngwie credit where credit is due. Love AAL.
This guy is actually pretty good! With a lot more practice, he just might make it!!!!
joe strummer he's already made it lol. Oh wait lol, you were being sarcastic?
@@alyusdickey9561 what do you think?
he never made it ,actually he gave it all up just to become a Leader amongst animals
I dunno dude, this kind of music will probably never be mainstream
what made this interview so good was the combined music knowledge on the stage, i could've watched those guys talk music for hours
Best interview with Tosin I’ve ever seen, thank you for sharing this awesome piece.
Tosin Abasi is one of my favorite guitarist luv his bands music as well!
What a freaking beast. One of a kind.
I think we just watched Tosin Abasi present his doctoral dissertation and occasionally defend his thesis against Andy Aledort's inquiries.
Never got much into this band but now I think I want to. That was great
Andy is such a successful interviewer; he turned an interview with such an enthusiastic musician to a dull conversation
This is the single best Tosin workshop I've ever seen.
56:00 “Isolated Incidents” is the tone
Quality interview. Thanks for posting.
15:10 that's like the first time I've ever heard him swear
I love Tosin man. What a talent.
These guys had some of the nerdiest music conversations and I love it. Great interviewer! He was actually able to keep up and even help expand some stuff.
Tosin clearly wanted to play a song lol dudes like No we are talking.
Such a major influence on taking your guitar playing further! HOF worthy!
Really interesting to hear about the coffe shop story. Sickest butterfly effect.
I just love what he says at 50:17.
Every musician has obsessions and that ends up building a vocabulary.
HE IS INCREDIBLE
nice stuff, interesting techniques, arpeggio's, scales, space sound, deep reverb are very early Steve Hackett taken to the extreme
Great interview love the theory explanations
Lovely content! Keep it up!
Amazing guitar playing!
I am learning so much stuff from this vid
Tosin extraí uma sonoridade unica da guitarra....
Esse cara é insano.
Tosin is a form of modern Pat Metheny to me, added with all the singularity of his mind. So proud this generation gave fantastic musician like him.
Best guitarist to have ever lived
21:21 So much soul in that sound...Its alive!
That was awesome
Fantastic interview
Tosin is guitar genius !
Best guitarist ever !!!
With the tapping technique I hear a lot of Stanley Jordan in these. Really good technique and good ear . Taking chord progressions and modes to the next level
Where's the Q&A part?
The stuff he comes up off the top of his head just to give examples is album material
I love this interviewer. “C’mon man” when the audience isn’t given the props Tosin deserves.
37:40 he’s contemplating demoing “Monomyth” lol
Tosin's a genius
LOL @ 14:16 "What song is that" ... "It's called One." DUHHHHHHH
so initially I was like how does he now know... then I realized he's likely shading Metallica LOL given he's done YJM transcription, he prolly isn't too fond of Metallica's elementary skills lol
@@Shredberry No one listens to Metallica anymore so how do you expect people to know their songs?
Axel Wrede bruh WHAT
@@DogOfEgypt No one should ever listen to metallica
@@leejiugs9657 that we can agree on
he's got a djent in his thumb lol
HA
Really enjoy watching tosins guitar clinics but I would love to hear him play more songs off weightless tbh
Loop oriented odd-meter music, that's a wonderful way to decribe Animals as Leaders music
Bravo!!!
This guy needs to make a "thundercat" -like solo album with just him vocals and everything
I don't think he can sing yet, but it'd be cool if he got some lessons and did that.
I think just making a collab with Thundercat would be cool
Thundercat and Tosin are friends, they probably don't know how much of a crossover audience they have. Let's get them to make a collab!
@@abuventertainment2856 wow, i made this comment 2 years ago.. but thats cool
tosin abasi , parabéns pelo trabalho
My idol !
Interdimensional beings walk among us. Here is one.
Seing him on tuesday here in chile!!!
awesome
You go brother, Tosin you are the most calmest, passionate guitar player in existence, a virtuoso of expression ,it truly is mind and spirit, very spiritual and soothing and nasty ,with a blessing of perfection, your jazzy ,blues ,with a classical hint with metal, and Hindu blessings as well,I can go on and on ,thanks, the best style I ever heard
Tosin es un grande 💪🤟😎
One was also the first thing I ever played on guitar in 1994 then my dad bought me a fake fender copy. Happy times.
Спасибо!
Anybody else sometimes wish Tosin made an album of some of his songs from previous AAL albums with just a clean tone and with slower tempo, with no other instruments?
MTV presents AAL Unplugged
what a genius
drinkin game: lets drink everytime tosin says "like"!
8 String meets two dancing spiders ;-) love his sound so much
The word SHREDDING has been updated
Hear a little Steve Hackett influence in his playing in this song for sure. Would love to see Tosin and Tony Levin play together...
Tosin Abasi is very inspiring and demotivating at the same time. After seeing him a guitarplayer picks up his guitar and goes for it but also considers to throw the guitar away.
Love the Scapegoat Blues ref @1:10:38, Jimmy Herring is a beast even if I like Tosin more :)
Word up! Cameo kicks ass at guitar, although I am saddened he lost the cod piece.
wicked. thats the Alfred Hitchcock of the guitar.
I've been trying to learn that run from CAFO for months and had no idea he tapped it.
Neil deGrasse Tosin
Anybody knows where the Ab Minor Pentatonic melody line he plays at 21:24 comes from? Is there a track or anything related to it I can find? It's beautiful.
Monochrome Light check Tosin's Instagram
I hate it when people hate on players like Tosin and Guthrie. Its not even possible to hate their music. You're either a salty hater or deaf. Don't hate these musicians. If you feel you don't like their music , study music. A person who knows music cannot hate their music.
Somewhere, there's a lot of guit-gods eating humble pie 😎🎶🎵✔️🔥
what chord does he plays at 40.07 ? the one he holds to arpegiate ? would be verry helpfull greetz
Evan Brewer is from Nashville, Tn…. As well as Victor Wooten!! Who would’ve thought some of his influence come right out of the Country music capitol!!!???!!!???
36:46 the most efficient way to play Bleed
he came from the future!i think you should know😌!!!!!!!!!#
@tosinabasi when a world thought Jimi Hendrix was innovative and technically gifted, I wonder what he would think of the amazing music you create.
Almost shed a tear when Tosin couldn't remember the name of Isolated Incidents :(
I'm in a full-on sexual love with this dude, and I'm not even gay. I can't even begin to fathom playing like him, but one can dream...
Serlith u gay

Would be great to have Andy Aledort work with him to have a book of authorized transcriptions
benandres, Yessss.
Xander, I spoke to soon--this already exists! happened to go to their twitter feed and they posted a pic about 'today we're autographing copies of our new TAB book'... The company is Sheet Happens Publishing
I bought a copy of the Madness of Many tab book and immediately got a digital copy.
Shit's *meticulously* tabbed out. They've outdone themselves, for sure!
benandres .
Did Andy Aledort seriously ask what "One" was?
Joshua Copeland haaaaaa! Just thought the same thing
so, i gotta ask again. When's the new TAM model coming out? lmao, and maybe a 7 string version as well?
RutLij Unfortunately, he's not with Ibanez. However, he started his own company and they have 7 string model.
Shmergul Flargamish i haven't heard anything about his brand in a good minute
