At the very end of this there's a scene where the Jessie and Buzz plus the other toys are dancing to the Spanish version of "You've Got a Friend in Me." I loved that scene as a good way to tie off the trilogy. Also, I thought Spanish Buzz was hilarious!
Chuckles the Clown is mainly voiced by late Bud Luckey, who was a character designer ever since Toy Story and he designed Woody (though he credits John Lasseter or picking the right design since he did hundreds of designs for Woody). He also directed and narrated the short Boundin' which was shown in front of The Incredibles in theaters and voiced Rick Dicker in The Incredibles as well, and voiced Eeyore in 2011 Winnie the Pooh. He retired during the production of TS3 in which he storyboarded a deleted alternative opening to the movie, as a send-off. He passed away in 2018 months before Incredibles 2 was released (he didn't reprised Rick Dicker, his voice was recast by Jonathan Banks). In the flashback Chuckles was voiced by Bob Peterson, the guy who co-direced Finding Nemo and Up and voices Dug in Up and Dug Days.
This movie hit extra hard because in 2010 I was about to graduate high school and go to college just like Andy. So saying goodbye to the gang and seeing them play with Bonnie BROKE me!
I agree. Toy Story 3 is my favorite too. And while you're looking up voices, the toy porcupine is voiced by Timothy Dalton - the most underrated actor who's played James Bond.
I can safely say for certain, the ending made me shed a tear too… Before I knew about Toy Story 4, I legit got teary at the end of this one because for all I knew… it would be the last one. Even thinking about it now, I’m getting a little teary, even though the 4th one is already out. Such an amazing animation franchise.
I cried my eyes out, I grew up on toy story, watching 1 & 2 on repeat all throughout childhood and playing the TS2 game never thinking a 3rd movie was coming. Then I was literally in college when this movie came out, I related so much since Andy was leaving for college then andy leaving the toys behind at the end was like me leaving my childhood behind 🥲 Still one of my fav movie trilogies of all time.
It's impossible not to at least shed tears to toy story 3 when you see it even more when you grew up with the first two as a kid and was like Andy about to go to colloge when the third came out. Really the perfect end as a trilogy the 4th is still a great movie but you feel the push from disney to wanting more of licences beloved by the public instead of letting Pixar doing their thing creating new story as they see fit.
I actually cryed a lot with this movie. I grew up with the toy story movies and I loved toys and had some that I was very attached to, so this movie actually hit home when I saw it at the theater.
I cried when I watched this movie for the first few times. 1. The incinerator (I thought this was the end for the toys, until the aliens saved them) 😭 2. Andy saying bye to his family 🥺 3. Andy giving his toys away 😢 4. Andy plays with his toys one final time (with bonnie) 😭 5. Andy drives away from his toys and Woody saying “So long partner” 😢
I love Spanish Buzz's grunt -- el vaquero -- when he saw Jessie hug Woody. (el vaquero means "the cowboy," in case you didn't know) The only part that made me come close to crying was when Woody "waved" goodbye (courtesy of Bonnie)
I grew up with Toy Story, was a little kid when 1 came out, and went to university, just like Andy did, when 3 came out in summer 2010. In a way, I grew up alongside Andy on a similar timeline. Just seeing your reaction video made me tear up, but seeing that scene with Bonnie at the end the first time, definitely made me tear up as well. It suddenly reminded me of all the toys that I played with when I was younger, toys that I haven't thought about in years. It also reminded me of my own Buzz that I had, and the times I would carry him around everywhere.
I remember being almost 8 and during the incinerator scene; I took hands with my grandmother, Jessie and Woody; then the entire audience joins in our fate until my sister looks at me knowing she had to expect death even though it’s a huge screen, my sister takes my hand. I was the last one to close my eyes and the first to open them when the claw came down. I’m nearly 21 now and still remember it very well.
@@ARC5555Fives You mean how it beautifully concluded Woody's character and his relationship with Buzz, Jessie, Bo, and all the other toys he's been with since the very beginning, all while helping other toys like Forky and Gabby Gabby who've never had what he's had for so much of his life by giving them a chance at being loved by a kid? Quite the "massacre" indeed.
I watched this with my Mom when it came out on Netflix and was crying at the end(Mom was too). Made me cry because Andy had to let go of a part of himself and grow up and I think we all experience that. I think anyone even people who didn’t have or weren’t big on toys growing up can relate to this movie/Andy. Letting go or reflecting on your childhood can make anyone emotional.
The timeline between these movies was the same as in real life for me. i was around Andy's age in Toy Story 1, 2 and 3. All us original fans were in college or college aged when 3 finally came so it was that relatable as the years went by.
I had toy trucks as a kid. I played with them until the wheels came off, literally. If I could have foreseen the internet I would have saved them because all they needed was axles and wheels (and there are toy restoration channels on YT).
I definitely cried when i finished this movie... what pulls my heart strings iz when Andy says Woody 'will never give up on you' because that iz EXACTLY what Woody iz like
This is the perfect ending, and Toy Story could have been remembered as one of the perfect trilogies of all time, and then it came the 4th, because money is more perfect. Although the 4th has some good things, overall it feels forced in the entire series.
"Did anyone else cry at this film?" F*** YES! I was 18 when this came out, so I right at that prime age for it. Also, fun fact, Mr. Pricklepants is voiced by Timothy Dalton, who played Simon Skinner in Hot Fuzz (which you just uploaded your reaction to at the time of typing this).
Woody have rights to be angry with the toys calling them selfish, because Jessie and the other only cared about getting played with as they left Andy who still wants them also I hope you'll check out "Toy Story 4" soon as it's a great follow-up to "Toy Story 3".
I went to see this film at the cinema and I cried so hard my contact lenses came out. I walked out the theatre bright red and blotchy and I was crying on-and-off for the rest of the day because it felt like the end of my chilldhood. Toy Story 1 came out when I was a baby and 3 came out when I was in high school and I still had all my Toy Story toys. No shame in crying!
Hey Angelina, I just wanted to say that I watched this movie with my kids and I struggled to keep my composure. When both of my kids were watching this movie they were tearing up and I was smiling and loving seeing them love this movie.
Buzz decided to stay in Sunnyside at the beggining because he was in loved with Jessie and he understood that it was the best place for her and her wound ❤ when Woody asked him if he would go with him he glanced at Jessie like saying “sorry man I want to be with this girl” and he didnt want her ti feel abandonment all over again with him
Growing up with it’s franchise, as well as the toys I had from them was a blessing. I still have some of my toys, especially my Toy Story ones, and there are some that I passed down to my nephews or nieces. The best message from this film, you grow up, but never apart. You keep the memories, but make new ones as well. Childhood departs, but never fades. 💛💙❤️🤠🧑🏻🚀
My favorite one. I cry Every time they all join hands and accept their fate together and when Andy passes down Woody to Bonnie and has that one last playtime with her and his toys.
27:02 What makes this scene even better is that the original voice for Andy in the first two movies came back to voice this Andy. He was the right age and was still the perfect voice for Andy. I love that!
i straight up have toys that have been played by all the other first cousins. I am the oldest of what I refer to as the grandkids, 9 of us total, so all my toys have been passed around and end up back here. I appreciate that they are there and I will use some of them with my kids. I can really appreciate woody saying that if Andy wants them in the attic then they need to be there for him because it is what mine have done until the time they get played again. In particular there is this little toy caste that I remember playing with as a kid. Me my grandpa and my late father all had pots and pans on our heads pretending to be knights.
When i found about The story andys dad and that woody was his last gift before he died . And thats why Andy wanted take woody to college because woody was in every moment in his life and thats last Think which give him the memeries of his dad thats sad
I definitely almost cried when lotto was like you know being mean to the toys at the Trash part me, when when big baby noticed that Lotsa was lying to her or him but yeah, that shot almost made me cry😢😢❤ Love and support to all of the people, including the people who commented and liked it. Also have a blessed day bye❤
29:03 Not only was it cause of pixars being more experienced, but also cause kids like me who grew up with toy story would be near andy age for the film releases. It hit me real hard when i saw 3, because like andy it was time for people like me to completely leave that childhood behind. It resonated hard, and the natural progression of time is what allowed for the level of emotion and drama worked so well for this movie. I did indeed love my toys as a kid too. yea i croed fo sho Fyi, i have a woody toy, just like him. all wobbly and all lol, and ive had him since i was 2ish. Hes the only thing i got left from childhood, cant seem to get rid of him XD
Ang you arnt the only one who cried. During the furnace when they hold hands and will andy gives woody, i bawl so bad 😢😂 So no worries you are normal !😅
I dont work in animation but in 3D videogames: you dont animate the paper and similar things, you usually simulate them. You give the geometry physical characteristics (weight, friction) and apply force on to it (wind, gravity and such), so you change those attributes to get the behavior you want. Of course, than can be combined with hand animation on the paper depending on the shot, but usually it is mostly simulated.
It definitely should have been the last of the franchise but I don’t think it’s necessarily the best one like the first will always best imo this one was great though cause of its unique storyline
Fun Fact Barbie is voiced by Jodi Benson Best Knon as Ariel and Ken is voiced By Michael Keaton best known as Batman 89 the little mermaid and Batman were both from 1989
When you question why you cried during the final scene I really think you should actually try to find an answer to that. Why did I cry, this is pretty sentimental of course because these are characters I care about after three movies, but these characters are literally just toys in a cartoon, why would I shed an actual tear for that? These movies are a lot deeper than most people give them credit for, it's not just about toys and what it means grow up, it's much deeper than that, it's about real human connections. That's why it's so emotional. The third one is, in my opinion about literally any human relationship you have with anyone, sometimes you grow apart, sometimes the spark just isn't there anymore like it used to be and you don't have to stay there with someone with blind loyalty when you could find other people who you could bring joy and meaning to. But at the same time, you should be thankful about and cherrish the memories and experiences you had with the other person, as they helped you get through difficult times and shaped you into the person you are today. The final scene is a goodbye to a part of your life that has passed, perhaps a person or multiple people and there's nothing you can do about it and that's allright, people change and they grow up and you have to move on, but you should be thankful that it happened. In this case it literally could be interpreted as a parent letting go of their child because they're old enough, like Andy's mom has to to Andy in the movie.
12:23 fun fact but pixar actually animated the first toilet paper and toilet in cgi- for monsters inc! you can see how far they have come with animation compared to toy story 3. and yes, it was a pain in the ass to get right lol
fun fact: toy story 3 wasn't originally a daycare arc. it was actually a Recalled buzz arc. they are originally make a plot were Buzz decides to be Recalled in Taiwan because buzz is now a dangerous toy that could cause some sort a choking hazard or probably an infection like pollution or something like that. there was a video that was uploaded the original draft of toy story 3 plot that says buzz is going to be recalled and sells taken to taiwan
Ah, the third one. I'd argue since I actually saw this movie in theaters as part of a triple-feature (Yes, they did that), it's automatically the best one of the quadrilogy. 13:14 That would be Jeff Garlin, also known as the CAPTAIN FROM WALL-E! He's also been on "The Goldbergs", "Curb Your Enthusiasm", "Arrested Development", and "Mad About You"!
Pixar and Studio Ghibli are friends like John Lasseter (though he's not at Pixar anymore since #mettoo revealtion, though it's not as bad as with Harvey Weinstein) and Hayao Miyazaki, so Ghibli were okay with letting Pixar use Totoro for this film. Also Disney did the english dubbing thanks to John Lasseter, up until a couple of years ago when Disney broke off the deal with Studio Ghibli. Another connection is that Daisuke "Dice" Tsutsumi who's the art director of this movie is married to Miyazaki's niece Mei Okuyama (who's the inspiration for Mei Kusakabe in My Neighbor Totoro).
Fun Fact: The garbage guy is actually Sid from the first movie. If you look at his shirt it's the same skull shirt he wore as a kid.
He even has the same voice actor (Erik von Detten)

At the very end of this there's a scene where the Jessie and Buzz plus the other toys are dancing to the Spanish version of "You've Got a Friend in Me." I loved that scene as a good way to tie off the trilogy.
Also, I thought Spanish Buzz was hilarious!
I cried like a baby when Andy dropped off the toys to Bonnie. That score just pulled on my heart strings. I grew up with Andy and those toys.
I already had my 2009 Woody for a year. I was 7 then and now I’m nearly 21; so I’ve had Woody for 15 years
I agree. Toy Story 3 is my favorite too. And while you're looking up voices, the toy porcupine is voiced by Timothy Dalton - the most underrated actor who's played James Bond.
I can safely say for certain, the ending made me shed a tear too…
Before I knew about Toy Story 4, I legit got teary at the end of this one because for all I knew… it would be the last one.
The first three Toy Story’s are so consistently good, you could make a strong argument for why any one is the best of the three.
This is a great Toy Story movie. But, man. When it makes you cry, it makes you CRY. 😥
I miss already the old hand transition. Such beautiful hands, Angie.
not me tearing up at that ending again! it's just so beautifully done! and you're not alone everyone cried and still cries.
The amount of tears I’ve shed over this movie is the equivalent to a small lake.
Yes, as a grown man watching this in theaters when it came out, I cried at the incinerator and Bonnie scenes
Can't wait, toy story was one of my favourite childhood film series
I actually cryed a lot with this movie. I grew up with the toy story movies and I loved toys and had some that I was very attached to, so this movie actually hit home when I saw it at the theater.
I cried when I watched this movie for the first few times.
1. The incinerator (I thought this was the end for the toys, until the aliens saved them) 😭
2. Andy saying bye to his family 🥺
3. Andy giving his toys away 😢
4. Andy plays with his toys one final time (with bonnie) 😭
5. Andy drives away from his toys and Woody saying “So long partner” 😢
"hi, bye, i love this commentary"
8:14 Never heard Ariel cry like THAT before (I’m saying that because Ariel and Barbie have the same voice actress)
20:56 This Barbie is much better than Margot Barbie "victim of patriarchy".
28:27 Yes, Ange, everyone I know and their mother cried in this scene
The third is definitely my favorite! And that end "So long, partner" gets me EVERY TIME!! 😭❤
I love Spanish Buzz's grunt -- el vaquero -- when he saw Jessie hug Woody. (el vaquero means "the cowboy," in case you didn't know)
The only part that made me come close to crying was when Woody "waved" goodbye (courtesy of Bonnie)
16:28 no matter what mode Buzz is in, he's always in love with Jesse.
This is the best Toy Story film, and for me, this film is the REAL finale! NOT THAT RUBBISH FOURTH FILM
There’s also those little shorts that they usually play on TV
Edit: I mean the ones before the fourth movie
Obviously you haven't even seen Toy Story 4, as it does so much more than just warrants its existence.
@@RyansChannel0203 I have seen it and I saw how it massacred all the main characters
@@RyansChannel0203 Actually, I’ve seen Toy Story 4 before
I watched this with my Mom when it came out on Netflix and was crying at the end(Mom was too). Made me cry because Andy had to let go of a part of himself and grow up and I think we all experience that. I think anyone even people who didn’t have or weren’t big on toys growing up can relate to this movie/Andy. Letting go or reflecting on your childhood can make anyone emotional.
THIS MOVIE DESTROYED ME! I’m literally crying now! I grew up with toy story and ugh…. Every time I watch this movie my heart breaks all over again
Rest in peace to Ned Beaty he was Lotso Huggin Bear
100% cried in theatres. My family made fun but they got emotional too 😂
The Potato/Tortilla Head scene still cracks me up every time. 🤣
The timeline between these movies was the same as in real life for me. i was around Andy's age in Toy Story 1, 2 and 3. All us original fans were in college or college aged when 3 finally came so it was that relatable as the years went by.
This was perhaps the greatest trilogy ending of all time. It was a pity they had to make a 4th film.
I had toy trucks as a kid. I played with them until the wheels came off, literally. If I could have foreseen the internet I would have saved them because all they needed was axles and wheels (and there are toy restoration channels on YT).
I definitely cried when i finished this movie... what pulls my heart strings iz when Andy says Woody 'will never give up on you' because that iz EXACTLY what Woody iz like
Animator here! Yes the toilet paper animation would definitely be a pain, but they probably used simulation for that
egg salad, HI BYE I LOVE THIS COMMENTARY
This is the perfect ending, and Toy Story could have been remembered as one of the perfect trilogies of all time, and then it came the 4th, because money is more perfect. Although the 4th has some good things, overall it feels forced in the entire series.
If you don’t cry at the end, you’re dead inside
"Did anyone else cry at this film?" F*** YES! I was 18 when this came out, so I right at that prime age for it.
Also, fun fact, Mr. Pricklepants is voiced by Timothy Dalton, who played Simon Skinner in Hot Fuzz (which you just uploaded your reaction to at the time of typing this).
This movie slaps so hard, it’s so freaking clever
27:58 REMEMBER THIS LINE! THE NEXT MOVIE THAT I REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE AS CANON DESTROYS THIS! IT DESTROYS EVERYTHING!
This film came out when i was 18, the summer before I went to uni/college. I saw it in the cinema and it BROKE ME. I still cry at every rewatch!
Buzz decided to stay in Sunnyside at the beggining because he was in loved with Jessie and he understood that it was the best place for her and her wound ❤ when Woody asked him if he would go with him he glanced at Jessie like saying “sorry man I want to be with this girl” and he didnt want her ti feel abandonment all over again with him
3:42 "Monkeys are scary, dude."
Me: oh, you're not gonna have fun later in this movie, Angelina 🤣
Not better than 1 and 2, but definitely more emotional.. and of course 3 is better than 4..
I agree with the former part of your comment, but not the latter.
I did indeed love my toys as a kid too.
yea i croed fo sho
Fyi, i have a woody toy, just like him. all wobbly and all lol, and ive had him since i was 2ish.
Hes the only thing i got left from childhood, cant seem to get rid of him XD
19:46 That monkey has terrified me for years still does to this day but I never noticed that he hissed which is low key funny but still scary
Ang you arnt the only one who cried. During the furnace when they hold hands and will andy gives woody, i bawl so bad 😢😂
So no worries you are normal !😅
I dont work in animation but in 3D videogames: you dont animate the paper and similar things, you usually simulate them. You give the geometry physical characteristics (weight, friction) and apply force on to it (wind, gravity and such), so you change those attributes to get the behavior you want. Of course, than can be combined with hand animation on the paper depending on the shot, but usually it is mostly simulated.
It definitely should have been the last of the franchise but I don’t think it’s necessarily the best one like the first will always best imo this one was great though cause of its unique storyline
Normally I'd agree with you on it deserving to be the last one, if today was 2018 or prior.
The part where Andy is reluctant about giving Woody to Bonnie never fails to make me tear up. After all these years, he's STILL his favorite toy. 🥹
Fun Fact Barbie is voiced by Jodi Benson Best Knon as Ariel and Ken is voiced By Michael Keaton best known as Batman 89 the little mermaid and Batman were both from 1989
I graduated in 2012 two years after this came out in 2010. So I was bawling in theatres when it came out.
I'm glad they did the story more mature, like how they did with Harry Potter. Seeing us as the viewer grown up the movie too as well.
-->Black&White skull tee shirt guy trashman is Sid from TOY STORY 1 all grown up, Angie.
12:23 fun fact but pixar actually animated the first toilet paper and toilet in cgi- for monsters inc! you can see how far they have come with animation compared to toy story 3. and yes, it was a pain in the ass to get right lol
You should do Top Gun: Maverick, it's amazing.
EVERYONE cried in the ending
18:33 I have no clue who thought a Jolly Chimp would be a great kids toy?
"Anyone else cry from this movie?" not me crying just watching this commentary
fun fact: toy story 3 wasn't originally a daycare arc. it was actually a Recalled buzz arc. they are originally make a plot were Buzz decides to be Recalled in Taiwan because buzz is now a dangerous toy that could cause some sort a choking hazard or probably an infection like pollution or something like that. there was a video that was uploaded the original draft of toy story 3 plot that says buzz is going to be recalled and sells taken to taiwan
What's great is they got the original VA for Andy to come back and do this as well as Sid (he's the garbage man with the Skull shirt)
Didn’t cry when I saw it in theaters at 6, bawl my eyes out now rewatching it now that I’m off to college. Every time the ending gets me now
Pixar and Studio Ghibli are friends like John Lasseter (though he's not at Pixar anymore since #mettoo revealtion, though it's not as bad as with Harvey Weinstein) and Hayao Miyazaki, so Ghibli were okay with letting Pixar use Totoro for this film.
