    Great, great advice. One of the best instructors on line. I left to see what else was out there, but I’m back and your advice on the golf swing is second to none. Thank you Malaska Golf. 🇨🇦💝🇺🇸🙏👍

    This has really helped my ball striking. Thanks Mike.

    Good stuff tried the grip and swing today for the first time. I had a couple of mistakes but still only shot 3 strokes over my average. I just need to figure out how far up or back in my stance I need to have my ball position.

    What do you think about stack and tilt?

    Mike , former PGA instructor here , do you feel it’s necessary to do that early set with the driver ? Thanks , John

      My hands and wrists are fully hinged generally by the time my left arm is parallel to the ground, at least. This is all individual, but the sooner I push the handle down, the more width I create. You can't hinge your wrists too soon as long as you're turning.

    I saw a video recently with you and Eric Cognorno about starting the takeaway with the right wrist bent back which some would say shut but you showed where it wasn’t actually shut at the top. Are you not doing this way any longer?

  • @thetomschaeffer
    @thetomschaeffer 23 дня назад

    Mike - would you say there needs to be a foot or so of initial movement where the wrists aren't hinging? In other words, it's tempting to start a wrist hinge almost immediately when practicing this takeaway.

    should the left hand thumb be more on the top or side of the club shaft? here it looks more on top but I thought it would be more in the middle between top and side to produce the stronger grip

    • @MalaskaGolf
      @MalaskaGolf  6 месяцев назад +2

      To the side, the camera angle caused an illusion.

  • @user-lu5mi2of6c

    At 1:10, Mike's club face looks shut (to me) at address. Is that an illusion from how his camera is angled, or is that how it is supposed to look at address? If that's the way it is supposed to be at set-up, then I've been doing this wrong for about forty years!!!

  • @16pennynails
    @16pennynails 6 месяцев назад +1

    I'm surprised by Mike's left hand grip, as stated by another comment. Not nearly as turned to the right as I thought it would be. Or is it an illusion?

    • @w7855
      @w7855 6 месяцев назад +2

      I was thinking the same. Way weaker than I expected and have seen from him in face on videos. Maybe a camera illusion

    • @brandonharley3927
      @brandonharley3927 6 месяцев назад

      He did a video on grip a few weeks ago that made his grip look much stronger so maybe he was just going through motions here to focus on the upper body takeaway move?

    • @MalaskaGolf
      @MalaskaGolf  6 месяцев назад +5

      This was an illusion from the camera angle. My grip is always at least 3 to 4 knuckles all the time.

  • @The559Jeff

    Do you choke down that much on all your clubs?

    • @MalaskaGolf
      @MalaskaGolf  6 месяцев назад +1

      This video was all for demonstration purposes, but how much you choke down on the club is all up to the individual, the shot you're trying to hit and how you're trying to use the club.
