Fun fact the original dlc was going to have an option for you to refuse Simon's request to kill Maria and if you refuse he kills her himself

no other change, he just *AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO* them to max frenzy levels that their heads explode
Orphan, Micolash, Cleric Beast, and that crazy lady from the chalic dungeons just yelling at each other.
JAAAA, and other hunters mocked him for using a bow for being "primitive".
His range was his winning quality!
That's something I don't quite get
Guns only work because quicksilver bullets were infused with blood but ordinary melee weapons worked fine, so did serrated throwing knives
And yet other hunters didn't figure Simon was a genius for using arrows instead of bullets??
@@hugofontes5708 it also has to account that most hunters fight beast head on and uses their size and speed to the advantage by lore. Simon gets mocked because he has to take time to aim, fire, and renock a new arrow but they forget that once you get going it is scary how fast an archer can be and their job is one of the most important

During the train end of the fight i kept screaming at my phone to Simon: "Shoot her already, damn it!" He wanted to savor the kill.
He was just waiting until his HP would lower a little more to make the fight even more dramatic. However, I like how in the end Maria was dodging every single arrow. It was like Simon had abandoned hope

Kills Maria and reveals the fishing hamlet which is why the church assassin comes after him, he got to close to finding the secrets not far from where he dies is the cave that leads to the orphan, and he was truly a Harrowed one plundering the nightmare and pillaging it for answer to expose the truth to expose the nightmare for what it is, punishment for the many for the mistakes of a few who won’t let it go. He is a true hero in my eyes it’s a shamed he died, but his death is the extra push you needed to end it all, and later you avenge him so I guess it’s chill.
Since brador lore-wise fucked up simon, imagine him vs maria if what you're saying is true. Gameplay wise simon wrecks tho cuz "arrow go beep"

At least he isn't as cheesy as the bloody crow. That sucker not only had infinity bullets, but also blood vials as well. His bullets deal way too much damage in comparison with other bullets from different bosses. Crow also spams the teleportation with the bone marrow ash quite a lot.
@@Frosty_Kyle his gun does more damage because it's the repeating pistol (shoots two bullets at the same time). Plus you can cheese him as well; blue elixir, sneak behind him, get a backstab, and run out of the church to lose agro, repeat until dead

Oh yeah, I forgot. Battle analysis:
With the health evenly distributed, it's clear here that with Simon's arrows, range in this fight is key. Maria is able to ditch out tons of damage, but because of her status as human sized enemy, she can easily be staggered unless she tries to poise through with her power shots. Simon control over Maria with his arrows and his tendency to keep away really makes it harder for Maria to get in to deal damage. She could've easily won if she dodge the shots like she did when she was at her last smidge of health.
Great analysis really! The range advantage really helped out with Simon's victory indeed!

Bullied? Simon was fighting smart by keeping his distance and even then Maria kept closing the distance. By the end, One combo with blood and fire was all Maria would've needed to kill him.
Rogue Pylon not really his blade hurt far worse than his arrows. She went from almost full health to second phase with only 3 hits from Simon’s blade. The reason why he started to use his bow&arrow was just to mess with Maria when he could’ve just hit her a few more times and get 3rd phase but no he didn’t do that he toyed with Maria. Simon didn’t need to use his bow till 3rd phase. Also you do realize Maria (0.5x) is only 200 more hp than Simons? Also her strongest hitting moves hurt Simon yes but not enough he could’ve ended this fight far quicker than he did. Yes he did bully Maria with his bow

This was highly entertaining, felt like i was watching some type of anime, especially with Maria flash dodges and fire sword.
....please can we get a round two?? Different arena? maybe some obstacles? I don't care, it's just cool how you made these!
Maybe you're thinking about something like the Shadows of Yharnan arena, but I think it's a moot point. None of the A.I. in the game is programmed with a "hide behind obstacles against ranged attacks" command, which I predict, would give Simon even *more* of an advantage, since Maria would have to dodge geometry to get him.

Fun thing is, by data mining and restoring cut content, we know this battle is not only lore friendly, but its outcome is canon. Maria was supposed to be an NPC we can interact with before her boss fight, and is killed by simon after we make progress in an unknown quest, which is why we find Maria as a corpse

I'm happy to see this. I know he had boosted health but Simon is my favorite character and his bow is my favorite too.
I wish we could trade in this game. I so wish I could do a full New Game playthrough with Simon's bow and never using a gun.

While I applaud Simon's bow strats here, the fact that he needed 3x his standard HP while Maria, in a boss vs. boss rarity, needed her health HALVED, kind of says it all regardless of Simon's efforts. Perhaps From even abandoned its original plans of Simon killing Maria (though the boss fight would still happen, so a lot of good that would do) because they didn't think anyone would believe he could actually win against her? Personally, I don't think that's a likely reason why, but it's fun to think about.
Damn cool video. Simon won because he had a simple fighting style of "I'm gonna shoot arrows till one of us drops".

These fights are honestly hype af! its amazing how these bosses and npcs put up such good fights when they aren't even ment to fight each other.

I noticed that Simon started putting more distance between himself and Maria as the fight went on. Not sure if his AI automatically gets more defensive and relies on arrows more as he takes damage, or if he could actually read Maria’s range as it increased with the stages and so he backed off more. Admittedly, the added distance nearly cost him the fight since it gave Maria time to dodge, but it feels so deliberate that whatever reason, it feels like his AI is fairly competent. Not enough to read and avoid Maria’s charged blood spear attack, but intelligent enough to adapt to combat.
That was such a climatic ending! Maria dodging all the arrows and trying to punish, but it's JUST not enough...

From about 1:49 - 2:04, I think you really get a sense of two nearly-evenly-matched warriors, veteran hunters, trading the fiercest blows they can muster and exhausting each other in a final showdown. Maria winds up and lands a horrific swipe of her blades on Simon, who is staggered but shortly returns the favor with a crushing, fully-drawn bow shot to her chest. The camera closes in over Maria’s shoulder as they recover from their blows and face one another again, exchanging a simultaneous bow shot and vicious sword thrust. Simply cinematic.
Holy crap I expected this to be a cake walk Simon is not as tough a fight for the player and he's found slain by Brador later on but he... defeated Maria. That would be interesting actually to see what Brador can do against bosses and npcs

Or possible Valtr vs Djura , both are hard hitting and fight like veterans but both have conflicting ideologies
