To be fair if Amelia did get that slam off then the outcome could have been different since that hits like a truck.

Though the hunter themself dodging every attack and healing back what they did loose has to feel even more unfair to the bosses

At least makes sense lore-wise that it would be so powerful. Cause I mean, Gehrman could defeat Moon Presence otherwise, since the boss is quite easy and weak without that one shot :D
@banderejoshuamoon presence actually is good against other bosses for some reason ... didn't you watch the last video ? Moon presence was whooping gherman for the whole fight even without the one shot attack which he really only used towards the end of the fight when he was already comfortably in the lead .
That's why the moon presence is in the host/front of the soulsborne table.

Only now I've noticed that Lady Maria actually never makes combos. She always lands only 1 hit and then retreats. A "one hit strategy", is actually very common among the players. Also it's absolutely opposite to the strategy of her Master, German the first hunter, who really likes to chain his attacks and perform long combinations.
I remember the Lady Maria vs Blackflame Friede battle, people were complaining that Lady Maria's speed was nerfed, and I'm like "No. That's just how she fights."
You're only noticing it now because this isn't quite how she behaves in normal gameplay. Some enemies in Bloodborne have variable combos, as in they decide how long to combo. Maria will continue her combos if there's a player in range, but will dodge away or pause if there are no players her combos could hit. Because there are no players to detect in this situation, Maria will stop most of her combos after a single attack animation. Most enemy combos are a single prolonged animation, so they can't cancel their attacks if an enemy moves out of range, but a few enemies, like Maria and Orphan, have some combos composed of multiple animations, so they can cancel them midway through. These enemies are slightly less aggressive in boss versus boss as a result of this.

That Orphan dodge before the 3rd Phase of Maria was amazing :D He was just about to attack into it, but then he just said to himself to step away. And that saved him. Since the last time you did Orphan vs Maria, poor Orphan got Nuked to the 13th Dimension by that 3rd Phase due to how the hit register works with Orphan, as happened with the Wet Nurse. So that was quite a twist, since as we can see, otherwise he pretty much owns Maria. So, I guess Orphan foresaw it this time somehow and got his revenge :D
That Moon Presence one tap AOV is damn broken, I do not think there is a boss that can defeat it because of it, unless they did enough damage before it and stood close :D
She was buffed in that fight too. Here you can see she clearly wasn't.

Wow. Gehrman vs Maria was beautiful. What I love the most in the fight was not including his phase two transformation, Gehrman not once use any supernatural abilities to fight Maria, only his scythe and gun. Total opposite of what Maria was doing, so desperate to win, she used all her powers to defeat her mentor, it's tragically and beautifully poetic.
Yes she gave Gehrman the Mercy and rest that he wanted and deserved.
If they would fight in lore, I can see Lady Maria going further beyond with her Vileblood capabilities to help out Gehrman and make him get his much deserved rest. Especially after seeing him in such a state, begging for his situation to stop
@@achsten5788I don't see it possible: Gehrman is exceptionally skilled and can use moon powers to force Maria, his love, to leave the dream.
While Maria not only is not determined as Gehrman to fulfil that kind of task, but she has also weaker and less divine powers.

If for cancerous you mean his meteor spamming sorry but really no, the only real issue with him is the tiny spiders around the boss, otherwise its not really so hard to beat
That's the cancerousness of it all, Rom goes down like a bitch to bolt + thrust but you're constantly running in circles in a big empty white space/tiny chalice dungeon boss room because of her one-shot stun-lock move(s)
You never use up more than three or four vials on Rom, if you get lucky and she doesn't spam her moves she's dead in a minute and a half, maybe two, if not you die straight away and redo the whole thing

Normal Rom is very easy even when not killing any spiderlings. Chalice Rom is the one that is beyond cancerous.

Logarius getting his ass beat by one of, if not *the* most powerful Vileblood’s in Lady Maria was cathartic. Sure, he never killed me once but his attacks sure did hit me even when they didn’t, so Lady Maria bodying him the moment she got to phase 2 felt good.
12:13 ahh yes, the true power of Mergo’s Wet Nurse. Absolutely bodying anything that doesn’t dodge with her blades. I’ve always been of the opinion that if MWN was faster, she’d have been one of the hardest bosses in SoulsBorne. But because she just plods around and telegraphs all of her attacks, the player has a very easy time beating her. Bosses that don’t dodge (or one shot, *looks at Flora*) on the other hand get sliced and diced
True, Lady Maria would have been a difficult boss if they made her more aggressive, not having her walking towards us as if she underestimated her rival.
@@ThePalebloodHunter funnily enough, I was referring to Mergo’s Wet Nurse at the end lol, not Lady Maria. If Mergo’s Wet Nurse was a faster boss who didn’t blatantly signal all her attacks, she’d be one of the hardest bosses in the series. Lady Maria though could do with a bit more aggressiveness herself though, I do agree. Especially evident in the Rom “fight” where she just let Rom edge guard the fuck out of her because she wouldn’t close the distance any faster than a slow walk.

@reaperofthings Lady Maria is basically just Melenia Version 1.0.... she always walks really slow towards you just like Malenia does in her first phase. Maria and Malenia could've done with being a lot more aggressive, although phase 2 Malenia makes up for that. But because Malenia is so passive in the first phase, it actually makes getting to the second phase quite consistent when you learn how to dodge Waterfowl... but honestly, no boss has got anything on Orphan in terms of difficulty, for me at least. I remember the absolute pain of trying to beat Orphan in NG+6 but Malenia in NG+7 was kinda easy 😒

Maria lacks the damage output and aggressiveness to keep up with Malenia, Orphan of Kos would play similar to Mohg without Nihil.

I love Gehrman's fight with Maria in the previous episode, and especially now. But it makes me wonder what would happen if Gehrman just kept attacking and not pausing in between scythe combos. Lady Maria's attacks have higher damage but Gehrman's attacks are generally faster especially when he one hands the scythe blade and has better crowd control vs human characters.

Parrying breaks the fight and makes it much less enjoyable. Seeing all her combos is a thing of beauty.
I actually beat her that way because I made and arcane strength built so I thought that guns were useless without blood tinge. I tried to beat her with my true mentor, the amygdalan arm, but the beast claw’s jump attack (with beast embrace) turned out to be a better option. I liked that fight, because I felt like we were equals in strength and ability, not just an insignificant human fighting a horrifying beast.
That’s exactly how I beat her lol, I just couldn’t parry her consistently so I gave up and it worked

Rom VS Menacing Walk is a *running gag* by now.
Man, she hit Rom so hard the thing re-materialized.
You know, I'd really like to see the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst against a other bosses. We already saw him fight Maria and the Orphan of Kos but I'd be really fitting to see him take on Martyr Logarius. I'd also be cool to see him take on Gerhman, Queen Yharnam, and Ludwig especially.
As another suggestion, it'd be a cool to see how far Gascoigne and Henryk could go when acting as a duo could go against certain bosses, as well. Gehrman and Maria make too strong a team for most bosses but Gascoigne and Henryk might make things a tad bit more interesting. It'd also be interesting to see the two variations of Valtr - Valtr, the Beast Eater and Valtr, the Master of the League - team-up to run a similar gauntlet. Seeing the Yahar'gul Trio, aka The Three Stooges, run a similar gauntlet against the various bosses would also be cool.
I'd also be interested in seeing Defector Antal vs Damien of Mensis, with former obviously being a defector from Mensis and the latter possibly being a defector from the Choir given his possession of A Call Beyond (Micolash could have always obtained his thorugh his connections in the Healing Church Hierarchy or from that Choir member he kidnapped) and knowledge of Ebrietas and Rom's locations.
Also, seeing Pthumerian Descendent (Ithyll) take on the Abhorrent Beast (Ailing Loran/Lower Loran) would also be an interesting fight to behold. I'd be cool watching Gehrman or Maria try to take on either or both of these bosses, one-at-a-time, by their lonesome, as well.
Can you Imagine this happing in a alternate universe where lady maria became basically the prototype of an elden ring summon.
And that people where making yt videos just to show why she is the best summon in the game. Just like how tiche/dung eater puppet are now.
And Of course people complaining to nerf her. 😂
Overall very similar results to those of Gherman. No surprising considering they both have roughly the same health and damage output, on top of pretty similar patterns.
Both bosses demonstrate that at the end, Gherman and Maria are very simple bosses in their combat behavior, their pattern is clear and predictable, their attacks telegraphed to the highest level, and pitting the against others bosses show their glaring limitations: be it herman or Maria, against early to mid-game bosses, they have NO issues, this is a catwalk, because they purely and simply brute force the encounter due to how much health they have, and how much damage they inflict to the other boss: the Clerical Beast, Gascoine, the poison beast in the cathedral (forgot its name), they all fall easily.
But once they are pitted against bosses who have more complicated patterns, are more agressive, and most important, when faced with bosses with roughly the same health and damage output as they have, thus negating their advantage, they always have a hard time, even against bosses who are widely considered to be weaker or/and easier.
And that's not even taking into account their respective Super Mode, or 2 Super Modes for Maria, who clearly saved their lives more than once, see Mergo's Wet Nurse who literally got 1/3 or her health bar destroyed by Maria's transformation, without that, she certainly would have been defeated.
Of course, against Rom, she had no chance, just like Gherman, against the Moon Presence, same thing; against the Shadows of Yharam or really against any boss with adds, it is always an uphill battle, and I am actually surprised she held for so long against the Living Failures, because bosses always have a tendancy to lose their aggro and are unable to focus one enemy at the time, unlike players.
I saw in the Gherman video a comment from someone celebrating how the game was balanced considering Gherman couldn't beat or curb-stomp even half of the bosses; well, bosses aren't really balanced either, against the player, certainyl, against each other, not at all: try to pit the Clerical Beast or Father Gascoine against any other boss, and they are sure to be stomped; put ANY boss against Rom, and they're gonna get crucified by its rampage of long distance attacks (The only reason why maria removed so much of Rom's health is because she lucked out on her hit to prevent its teleportation, which Gherman didn't do).
Reduce Maria or Gherman's health and damage to that of the Clerical Beast, and it sure will destroy them both; in truth, the Clerical Beast and Gascoine are certainly much harder and complex fights than Gherman for a new player, as not only their patterns are more complex and harder to master than Gherman, but they also comparatively have more health and do more damage compared to the player's power level at this stage of the game than when they fight Gherman.
Still, very entertaining video, despite the predictable results.

Having seen your old Maria v Kos video, I know the only reason the Orphan won is because he backed out of range of the 3rd phase AoE.
My question is, will any boss beat Rom, cause when he teleports, that meteor attacks just destroys everyone cause they all walk so menacingly slow

gehrman vs lady maria was great, fromsoftware always has some way to put that character we keep asking "how strong was him at his prime", atleast in sekiro we can fight both the strongest boss in his older and prime versions
