Gehrman vs Maria was just as fucking epic as I thought it would be. Also, Ludwig vs Gehrman was awesome as hell. Really nice job on the video! I didn't think Bloodborne boss vs boss would even be possible!
Even after getting his leg taken by an Eldritch entity from the knee down and being extremely old and out of practice he still gave Maria a tough fight.
Interesting thing this shows about his AI, he only seems to continue his normal combos if he detects that either a hit has landed or if the target is in range, but it doesn’t really look like it works on anything but player-type enemies
Pity that he didn't use NG+ version of all bosses (and Gehrman as well). Then bosses like Gascoigne or Amelia would be able to kill him or at least fight would be more even.

Gehrman being unable to defeat the Moon Presence actually makes sense. He wasn't powerful enough to defeat it himself, so he waited for a Hunter powerful enough to do it, and end the nightmare once and for all. And the Orphan of Kos was even more powerful than the Moon Presence ever could have been.
How is it baseless? The Orphan of Kos literally had more hunters trapoed in it's dream than Moon Presence did. The Moon Presence literally feared certain hunters. While the Orphan of Kos was running on fury. And let's not forget how many of Gehrman's old comrades were trapped by Kos.

Nah scythes are harvesting tools. Bosses using them always made me cringe. Friede kinda pulled it off because it was shorter and less curved, almost like an oversized billhook, but it was still not great.

The Japanese text says that Maria trained under Gehrman but was unaware of the “madness of his curiosity.” In context of the remaining descriptions and the dialogue Maria gives us at the start of her cutscene, it becomes clear that the curiosity was referring to Gehrman’s obsession with the Great Ones. The obsession that likely led him to slay the Orphan of Kos, and all that, hence why he is linked with the creature. It’s the same “wild curiosity” Maria says she will liberate us from. Curiosity for secrets. That whole nonsensical rumor about Gehrman being obsessed with Maria doesn’t exist in the original Japanese text, the language the game was first written in. That includes the weird dialogue about the Doll. Gehrman isn’t some incel creep. He had an affection for Maria, but he also had a craving for the secrets of the gods. It led him into sin, and Maria likely lost her respect for him when she found out.

Something that I think from soft should have absolutely done is a Gehrman vs Moon presence fight. After you defeat Gehrman they should've made a cutscene where the moon presence appears, and Gehrman fights by your side as you both try to fight the moon presence. And then when you and Gehrman finally defeat the moon presence it shows a cutscene of Gehrman falling to the ground and your character holding him, and Gehrman says "Thank you, I finally am freed from this horrible dream, goodbye good hunter." And he disapates into a mist. I think that would've made a really good final fight. But I still loved the Gehrman fight, out of all the bosses in the game Gehrman was my favorite by alot.
The fights with; Logarius, Ebreitas, Maria, Ludwig were insane. I thought he was a goner with Ludwig, because I didn't see how he was coming back from that being one hit away while Ludwig still had more in the tank.
I haven't seen all the fights for time reasons, but what I've seen (Cleric Beast, Gascoigne, Living Failures, Maria) went exactly like I'd have imagined it, and the last one I've seen reminded me so much of Wolf fighting Owl.

As is the Moon Presence. Micolash should realistically be one of the most powerful entities in the game as he is The Host of The Nightmare of Mensis. Arguably one of the most powerful pocket dimensions in the game if not the most powerful one. His power does legitimately rival that of a Great One which is why he has gone insane with insight. Etc. On top of ALL that Gehrman is not even at full strength here. He is old, depressed, and has essentially given up altogether. He cannot run as he is walking on a peg leg. So Gehrman is not even in his prime. It makes sense that he isn't stomping most of the bosses. Prime Gehrman would be closer to Orphan of Kos level.

The pure aggression on display when he switches to curved sword is enough for him to DPS his way out of most situations. The Orphan of Kos is not most situations. Also, the way he won against Ludwig was some anime nonsense. He got knocked flat on his back by the giant beam, survived on like one HP and then managed to shave off like a quarter of Ludwig's health bar without letting him even start to hit back.

And Gehrman being significantly harder than Maria is objectively false, because they have nearly the same hp, defense, and damage.
Man, it's always cool to see Gehrman earn his place as final boss in BB. Also, it's kind of funny seeing as he usually only loses to bosses he canonically either has lost to, or would lose to.
Its actually fun how most bosses probably wouldn't be able to handle Rom. Hell, even when you had the Orphan of Kos fight the spider, it was actually not one-sided.

The bell ringers orbs probably buff one reborn, so he does more damage. If it's not speedrun, it's always better to kill them before fighting Reborn.
The pure aggression on display when he switches to curved sword is enough for him to DPS his way out of most situations. The Orphan of Kos is not most situations.
Also, the way he won against Ludwig was some anime nonsense. He got knocked flat on his back by the giant beam, survived on like one HP and then managed to shave off like a quarter of Ludwig's health bar without letting him even start to hit back.

@@kaiserdetectivegolden2735 Maria has almost exactly as much health and physical defense as Gehrman, and does very similar amounts of damage. Also, Gehrman's AI wasn't broken against Maria, seeing as he repeatedly stunlocked her.

And Gehrman being significantly harder than Maria is objectively false, because they have nearly the same hp, defense, and damage.
