I would love it if you do a video on how to start a home bar (what drinks, liqueurs, bitters, mixers, juices, etc. we should focus on getting first)

jack K I know I've heard from quite a few to just start with the basics first - so your favorite vodka, gin, rum, tequila, whiskey/whisky and maybe brandy. Add in basic bitters - angostura and orange/citrus - and mixers - sodas, lemon & lime juice and you've got a decent start to a home bar.

In my attempt to start a small bar, here are some of the categories of things I’ve bought.
First, liquor- I’d recommend vodka, tequila, gin, rum, whiskey, and triple sec. secondary alcohols include: brandy, various schnapps, bitters, vermouth, champagne. Maybe Irish cream and coffee liqueur.
Mixers- lime juice, lemon juice, simple syrup, grenadine. Possibly orange juice, cranberry juice, pineapple juice.
Barware- shaker (can be standard Boston shaker or smaller shaker, depends on how many drinks you want), bar spoon, strainer, jigger.
Glassware- martini glass, highball/Collins glass, and a whiskey glass/shorter round glass. Hope this helps!

Glad to see you back again and congratulations to the newest addition to the family!
I'm glad you chose to include my cocktail but in all fairness, my recipe explicitly calls for Caorunn Gin. The coul blush apple in the Caorunn is one of the components to which the other ingredients are embellishments. Along with a sweet variety of apple, I'm sure your result will be different.
That said, awesome to have you back again, looking forward to the next installment whatever theme it may be.

My version of "Rabo de Galo", wich means "Rooster's tail". I call it the "Cynar Tail"
    - 20ml cachaça
    - 50ml Cynar classic
    - 25ml lime
    - 20ml simple syrup
    - eggwhite
Put everything into shaker. Dry shake it with a spring. Add some ice. Shake it again.
Double strain into a double old fashioned glass with one huge ice cube. Zest of a grapefruit. Garnish it with the grapefruit peel.

Great to have you back. Congrats on the baby.
Was hoping to see you make something from my pal Sambuccashake. He's a star. Can't remember if I posted any suggestion myself so let me make a request. This winter I've been trying a bunch of variations on the Negroni and Boulevardier kind of cocktails. I've done them with Bulleit Rye, old tom and London dry, white rum and dark - and included different types of sweet vermouth, dry vermouth, and different bitters. It's great to play around with. Would you consider a few takes of your own on it?

This is awesome! I just stumbled across this channel and found it to be the first one that I've really enjoyed and respected. I watched a few of the specific liquor cocktail videos and most everything was made how I was taught here in Buffalo! I have a cocktail you might enjoy, it's the first and only I've created thus far. I'm also not overly familiar with the metric system so bear with me, the converter is a little bit strange when one measurement came out.
    Fresh blackberries are key
    1oz bourbon
    1oz amaro nonino
    1oz sweet vermouth
    .25oz (7.5ml?) peach schnapps
    chambord wash
the way I make it is; After washing a rocks glass with chambord muddle 4-5 blackberries in schnapps directly in the rocks glass, then prep that glass with ice. add the rest of the ingredients into a stir glass and give it a very mild stir. pour the ingredients into the prepped glass and empty the shaker. before serving dump the cocktail back into the shaker and then back into the glass, it jumbles up the blackberries and makes it look really unique. top with a couple fresh cubes of ice if necessary. I couldn't figure out a good garnish, maybe you have an idea? I kept it without one

    Good morning Bonneville !
I want to leave a recipe that I usually do home, if you decide to do a part 2 for this video here's another subscriber's cocktail.
    Gin Whisper
    - 50ml Gin
    - 15ml Dry Vermouth
    - 30ml Lime juice
    - 15ml sugar syrup
    - 1 punch ( 8-10 ) of mint leafs
    - 1 Egg white
Muddle mint, sugar syrup and mint leafs, then add gin, vermouth and egg white. Dry shake, then shake with ice and double strain into a chilled coupé glass, garnish with a tapped mint sprout. Usually I look for a small sprout then I cut the beginning of it's root vertically in half to attach it in the glass, but you can garnish with mint leaf in the middle that it also works.
    Thank you for the space,
    Keep rocking Bonneville !

    Try this modern “tiki” drink:
    Name:
    “Sunside ambrosiac”
    Ingredients:
    - 70ml sweet Muskat-Ottonel wine (from fully-matured grapes), must have the viscosity and sweetness of vermouth. You can use other sweet wines but that’s something you have to test.
    - 70ml of fresh orange juice... adjust sourness with lime/lemon juice and sweetness with simple syrup since orange juice is a wild card... If you don’t want fresh orange juice, I find Pfanner orange juice with 6% extra simple syrup to work just fine.
    - 30ml club soda (adds a hint of fizz to the drink, plays well with the wine and the mezcal)
    - 25ml mezcal (a kind that’s funky but not too harsh on the smoke flavours)
    - 25 ml Jamaican rum (because we need a little bit of ripe banana spice)
    - 15 ml coconut liqueur
    - 15 ml papaya liqueur
    - a dash of Peychaud's Bitters
In total, aprox 250ml of liquid
    Problems&Hiccups:
Note that the minty anise from the bitters, the nutty coconut and the exotic papaya flavours are meant to play together evenly. If the coconut or papaya flavours aren’t strong enough and get lost you need to up the amount. Also, in some cases, the rum or the mezcal might not be funky enough to get through. These are the problems I encountered with this cocktail.
    Presentation&Preparation:
    - Add ice to a hurricane glass
    - Pour the club soda in the glass over the ice.
    - Add the rest of the ingredients into a shaker with a few ice cubes and shake it.
    - Pour over the ice in the glass (strain).
    - Sprinkle a very little bit of nutmeg powder on top
    - Add a straw and garnish with a slice of star fruit on the rim of the glass... or you can use a slice of kiwi without the peel.
Hope you will enjoy this one.

Oh man that first one.. K.I.S.S. (to the originator) !
I probably would have gotten rid of the vodka and rosemary, and maybe replaced the triple sec with a dash of Orange bitters.
Gin and mint is an excellent combination though.

Love the channel. I hope to visit you the next time I'm in London. Quick question: is there a top 5 list of drinks that you recommend if someone really likes ___? In other words, if you love a gin and tonic, try a ___ , or if you love a manhattan, try a ___ ? etc. Thanks for reading my comment.

Hi I like a lot your channel and this idea with making subscriber cocktails is awsome too so if you'll repeat something like this i have for you this one who's called "Cream Beam" ;)
    50ml Bourbon
    20ml vanilla syroup
    10ml cinnamon syroup
    30ml cream
    20ml kahlua
    1 egg white
    1 pinch of cinnamon
all ingredients except egg white shake well with ice and pour to snifter or martini glass, then shake egg white with pinch of vanilla sugar for nice stiff foam, add to the glass cinnamon and cover with foam. At the end put some brown sugar on top, add few drops of overproof rum and give it some flame ;)
I would be glad if you rate this for me ;)

I missed what he said about the golden rule... 1 part sweet, 1 part sour, 2 parts... what? I can't make out what he says after that. anyone? 6:18

    • @philippemorin5866
      @philippemorin5866 8 лет назад +1

+zfierocious311 2 part of love this is how you make anything good... seriously it's 2 part strong, it's a general rule half your drink is base liquor, the other half is seperated in two to be balanced, sweet and sour. For example you want to make a great margarita, you put 1 an a half ounce of tequila, 3/4 of lime juice and 3/4 of orange curaçao. The secret is balance and love...
