You are such an awesome team! I just subscribed to your channel recently & am watching new & old content. Thanks for all the technical nail training/information. Thanks for the color swatches & comparisons. And thanks for the fun dynamic you two share. It’s so fun.
"Sheer luck" looks amazing, and it's the kind of really sheer polish I love! Thank you, Anna, for this great video. I love your hilarious model as well. Greetings from Madrid!😘❤⚘❤💃
I have learned so much from your videos. I also really appreciate your demonstrations on imperfect nails - like mine. Because of you, I am using oil on my cuticles and lotion several times a day. I apply the CND Rescue Rxx morning and night and also use Kerasal at night. I wish I could find someone like you in my area to do gentle basic manicures. I can’t tell you how often they cut my cuticles until they bleed! Thank you so much for your videos!!
You and Mr Salon Life are so cute together ♥️ I have ridged nails and I use Barielle Hydrating Ridge Filling Base Coat. It works so well. I love flakie glitters, ILNP makes some beautiful ones
I love Funny Bunny with one coat, but the formula doesn’t allow you to get away with just one. Two coats, and it’s way too opaque. I hope they come out with a sheer version.
I like "Sheer Luck." Because I have ridges in some of my nails I tend to go toward the clear coat polishes or those with a pearl or shimmer. I have Essie's "Going Steady" which is more milky ivory...I like it a lot.
I agree! I’m glad MSL has those “imperfect”ridged nails. He’s like my brother from another mother! Thanks for this! I know what NOT to add to my list….though I did just order White Wedding last week!
I found your channel not long ago and I’m binge watching all your videos! I’m learning so much and your partner is so amusing! The commentaries are really entertaining 😅 thank you for your work!
Hi Nykka, I did a quick google search and did find Sheer Luck in stock on the Essie website. www.essie.com/nail-polish/enamel/pinks/sheer-luck I wasn't able to find any information if there was a formula change with the newer versions. have a great day! - MSL
@@TheSalonLife so I looked closer at the bottle you used in this video and another sheer polish video. The bottle does have a slight pink color to it. I thought the shade color changed but it is the same. Thanks for the link.
I really like Essie Treat Me Bright, but I think it's been discontinued cause I can't find it anywhere :/ If anyone is interested, Londontown Lakur Illuminating Nail Concealer is similar--sheer white with a slight blue flash. Really brightens up the nails. Only downside it's more expensive than Essie!
Hi Megan! I found it on Amazon :) amzn.to/3CA429F I've heard that some people had good results with these Essie treatments for their damaged nails. I personally didn't find it made any difference because 1) my nails are heathy and strong anyway 2) I haven't used it consistently
Hi SC, same here. And I always use a topcoat, too. Just like the model here, I have ridge-y nails (actually mine are much worse than his), so the additional layers really help give me a more smooth finish.
Happy Holidays to both of you!! Thank you for this video. I am suddenly in the mood for some pallette/palate-cleansing whites after all the glitzy manicures during the holiday season. Anna, you have very pretty hands and nails. It looks like you have some sort of product for shine or protection on in this video and I was wondering, being a nail professional, do you ever actually polish your own nails, or do you leave them natural-looking for convenience?
Awesome demo. I use londontown nail polish in conditioner. It's great as a ridge filler, conditioner and polish milky white. Highly recommend. Can u do demo on how to do French mani? Do it yourself smile lines. Thanks
Thanks for this! Great comparisons. Funny bunny is so pretty. I hate the OPI brushes. Where did yiu get the new brush? It’s a great idea to change it. Thanks
I love seeing these on ridgey nails. I also love milky whites. Buying funny bunny today, I've been wanting it for ages. Also, I would be so happy if you could do this with pale/pastel yellows. Such a great, but sometimes difficult, spring color.
i really love this video! thank you for showing us all these colors. i do not like it when my natural nails shine through the milky colours because the contrast of the nail laying on the skin and the end part of the nail is so visible so i usually get acrylics for the milky effect. do you think it would have a similar effect if i put on a nude color and a milky white on top? thanks! :)
Acrylic has such a nice look because it’s faded. Very thin near the cuticle area and thicker throughout the body of the nail. That look is very difficult to recreate with polish
Loved Opi Bunny one and Essie Marshmallow one. May I ask where you got your replacement brush from please...I do like the Opi natural brush as widish and not bulky. I gave some China Glaze, Revlon and Zoya brushes I want yo swap out.
Completely off topic, hope you won't mind, have you tried using creative play CND base and top coat with IBD colour gel? Found your channel and I love it!
some of the perfect ones are boring, though. i like hearing you guys talk back and forth. keep wondering why you don't do one of those spongey fine files to smooth out the ridges at least a little. right now it's perilous! 😂 funny bunny was harder to apply than marshmallow, i thought. it might just be the brush, idk. but funny bunny is discontinued now which is CRAZY with how much people talk about it and buy it.
You would have to buff a LOT in order to smooth the ridges. And that would damage the nail. Many people are not bothered with the ridges. He is not. What nail companies don't tell you about nail buffing. ruclips.net/video/K_-40s9lwZg/видео.html
I have a total nightmare with white nail polishes! lm using Essie Blanc 5ml mini polish, it's plastic like and smudges easily. Use with a Quick Dry nail spray like Avon Freeze Drying spray, The Essie Blanc takes ages to dry! Same with Wet n Wild White creme nail polish, very plastic like and took ages to dry! A good Quick Dry nail drops are Zoya Nail Drying drops and Maybelline quick dry drops, very good, dry fast! I'm using White nail stickers under CND SHELLAC TOPCOAT & basecoat! I can't bear chips and smudged nails! UK 🇬🇧 I n
It looks like his middle finger on the second hand (his left - that you applied sheer luck to) had a base coat on it already? It was far smoother & shinier than the rest, pre-polish. But all in all, it was so informative... especially as i have ridgy nails, it's important to see how things will look realistically! thank you thank you!!
Hi Danielle! All the polishes that required base coat already had a base coat I think. I always apply polishes over the base coat of one is recommended. It’s true, not all his nails are as ridgy but this is the best model I could find :))
Ps. Some of the polishes are meant to be applied without base (like Vinylux) so I left them without a base :)) Dazzle Dry Gad base coat on too but it dries very matte looking
I like and use Dazzle Dry in the salon. It has pros and cons but the pros are very significant. It's amazing for toes especially for clients who wear polish all year round. It leaves very healthy surface. No white spots or yellowing. And the amazing 5 min dry time....! Next would be Vinylux for the brush and the colors and no need for the base coat. Except for sheer pinks. Essie Gel Couture for sheer pinks. :)
The Dior one would also look good as part of a ‘jelly sandwich” manicure! I love the flakes in it. I’ve heard you say before, Anna, that ridge filler base coats don’t help. How come ridge fillers don’t help? I have ridges in my nails and always use 2 layers of a base coat, one of which is a ridge filler. I even have a line from proximal fold to tip, very similar to the one i see on Mr Salon’s nail in the video and you can’t tell with it polished. Mine will even split on the top layers of the nail if I don’t keep polish on it. Polish does seem to keep it from splitting strangely enough, but the line on my nail is permanent damage to the matrix. (Unfortunately, one of many problems my nails have.) Ridge filler base coats really helps the polish look good on my nails, or at least it seems to. It might not help with sheers, but I never wear sheer polishes. I’ve been told ridges can happen with age, so Mr. Salon’s ridges aren’t your fault, Anna. 😂(No idea if they do come with age or not. I only know I’ve been told that.)
I also have ridges in my nails, both lengthwise and across. Had it since childhood, it is just the way my nails are. I often wear sheer polishes, like the Depend number 129. I use a ridgefiller base, and this makes my nails look so good I actually get compliments when I paint them. It is like magic, makes the ridges diappear and the following polish always look great. I swear, since discovering ridgefiller basecoat, it totally changed the game for me :)
I love funny bunny, it’s quite unique has a slight pink cast and goes on fairly well. Years ago ii had a lovely Essie sheer white/pink that had some shimmer, they must have discontinued it as I’ve searched but nothing is close.

me too! i have nails with a lot of ridges and this explains some of my troubles!!
Sheer luck and Zoya White Perfector are great! I love how you show the polishes on ridgy nails. It's real life.

I love this color category and Funny Bunny is my favorite. This past summer I wore it nonstop!
omg ty so much!! i have been asking for a opi infinite shine funby bunny for the longest time!! thank you
Yes I remembered :) You're so welcome! Alpine Snow looks just like CND “Cream Puff”. Just like a white Out white.
My favorite shade!!!!!! Marshmallow is my "standard" milky white, thanks for doing the swatches so I can see the differences.

the Dior bottle is beautiful on its own, wow!

Where do you purchase the white nail polish brush in the OPI bottle?
I want to know too
Is Essie sheer luck discontinued? I can’t find it anywhere. It appears there is a newer version that is more pink.

Glad it was helpful! I hope you'll enjoy Funny Bunny :)
Great video 🥰 sheer luck and gleam supreme are amazing ..going get then after Xmas . into dark reds /purples /blue at the mo.. xx

Talk about capping the free edge some time. Please give hints about capping on short nails like Mr. Salon life's.
Can you please tell me what kind of brush did you change to in OPI funny bunny?
