I got married this past new year's eve with a celestial theme, and I wore Starrily's AU (the perfect gold, I will die on this hill) with gold star charms on my ring finger nails. My gown was covered in stars as well. ✨💃✨
I was married in 1995. It was all the rage to do a French manicure in the 90s, so that’s what I did. In the classic ‘hands’ picture, my nails do look lovely. If I were to get married today, I think I would opt for a beautiful, soft pink of some kind. Great video!
I got married last December and wore Starrily's Mars, which is a gorgeous deep red magnetic, in the velvet style. It was so perfect and Christmassy. I know a lot of people prefer something more subtle, but I definitely wanted my nails to be loud!
ILNP Up Above is what my daughter (the bride), my daughter (the MOH), my grand granddaughter (the flowergirl) and myself all wore on our toes for my daughters wedding. We all wore ILNP Whisper on our fingers, except for the bride. I did a wedding French manicure for her. She wore a simple high neck sheath dress with a subtle mermaid flare in white silk. She was so beautiful. ILNP has so many perfect delicate wedding colors. My head shot up when you said Mooncat!! I was like, "No way!! Not Mooncat!!" And you proved me wrong. Loved this video.
I looked up those polishes and they are all so beautiful. I especially love Up Above, I love blue though. That's so sweet that you did your daughters nails for her wedding. What a lovely memory 💖
I love all of these for a wedding! But I’m also glad that ‘rules’ have relaxed so much. Wear what you want! I think if you had some deep red roses in your bouquet, a vampy red would look amazing. Or if you need to be more subtle, put a neutral on your hands but get a funky pedi, so when you’re sick of your shoes halfway through the reception, your toes are ready for the party. 😀
Haha yesss it was a struggle deciding to make a vid like this because you truly can wear any color 😅 but I figured it was worth it to do a vid for at least the traditional wedding colors!
@@KelliMarissa And not every traditional wedding is a western white dress one, so it’s good to have ideas for other shades that are festive but subtle.
Kelli, you can do ANY favorites or compilation video, and i will ALWAYS find or rediscover something special! Thank for this one and all you do for your community's entertainment!! 😂❤🎉
I got married in 1999, long before I cared about nail polish. I did a French manicure because that’s what everyone did. If I was getting married now, I’d have so much fun doing my nails! I think I would do a jelly sandwich of a milky sheer like Cirque Linen or Chiffon and ILNP Karma (gold flaky topper in clear base). Now I need to find a wedding to go to so I can wear that!
The video I never knew I needed. I'm not even getting married lol! It's so helpful for being a guest to weddings, but also I find these very office appropriate.
Your timing is perfect. My daughter is getting married soon. I am delighted that some of your favourites are easily available here in the UK. Thank you. X
I had a super small wedding, which was exactly what I wanted. I wore mariachi makes my day by OPI super beautiful, almost dusty, dark purple, which totally went with what my husband had on.
My husband and I got married in November 2019 in Napa and I wore OPI’s Malaga Wine and it was absolutely perfect. I’m a fan of more bold colors on wedding days and a classic red is so pretty to me.
I know it's much more popular to do your wedding nails in a neutral color, but I love it when I see a bride coordinate her nails with her wedding colors/bridesmaid dresses. I think that's so cute.
I just wore Mooncat Fake Halo on my fingernails and Orly Ephemeral on my toes this weekend as a guest at a wedding. But I got a French manicure for my own wedding 8 years ago.
For my wedding i wore OPI dulce de leche and on the ring finger a TrustFund Beauty dusky pink shade with subtle gold shimmer-- so pink is definitely a wedding color to me!
I was married a long time ago and wore a pale shell metallic pink. No regrets. I love pink and had pink in my bouquet. Lovely polish selection. I recently attended a wedding and wore a gold shimmer and it was fun.
Holo Taco Got Cake is the perfect wedding polish imo. For a more traditional style wedding. If I were to get married again I would wear a black and purple gown and the polish would be Holo Taco Indigo Away with Freezerburn and Scattered Holo. Loved seeing all these and there are a few I have added to my list to get. Thank you for all you do.
those are all beautiful! And a lot of those are also good choices for work nailpolish, when you can't do bold, funky colors! As someone who always wears dark, sparkly nailpolish, I know I'd stick with that for my wedding (Mooncat Sunken Splendor, Starrily Rose Water and A-England Love Song for a Vampire are some hot candidates XD), but these are some lovely recs for the days something more subtle is appropriate. Another suggestion is Essie's On the Download, for an off-white with some shimmer, and Mooncat's Lovebomb, for a darker, dusty pink
Oh yay glad you like my picks! On the Download is in here actually haha but there are so many polishes, it's easy to miss 😂😂 I need to try that Mooncat color, it looks lovely! I do tend to lean towards darker/bold colors as well tbh, but for some reason I just love the traditional subtle colors for weddings 🤣 maybe because it's something different for me!
Kelli, I'm so happy you made this video! I love to wear wedding-y colors to work in case my brides want any makeup action shots with my hands in them, lol. I'll obviously be sharing this with all my brides at their makeup trials from now on! Excellent reference video! 💕
i got married on halloween 2 and a half years ago and i wore essie wicked! i also did my moms nails in the same color since i eloped and thought it was a fun thing to share with her.
My wedding is next year and I've already bought like three different polishes to try out lol. So THANK YOU for this video it is exactly what I needed!!
Well you convinced me to buy Orly's Sea Spray for sure! And Snow Worries. I am also tempted by ILNP Up Above as a "something blue." But I've already bought Mooncat's Curiosity's Prey last year. And pending Holo Taco's newest white crushed holo once it drops mayyyy also end up in my cart if I like the swatches lol. I can't decide if I want a white or blue, it's so hard to pick!!
Holo Taco's Got Cake? would be my go-to if I ever get remarried properly (we eloped and had 4 guests and I didn't really put too much of an effort ^^). And great job, as always, love watching you!
My cousin got married in September and I wore a white jelly (Dimension Nails’ Almond Milk) with Holo Taco’s linear holo on top 💕 I personally tend to lean more towards subtle colours for special occasions and it looked pretty cute! Also my cousin loves Halloween so when it was time to dance we wheeled out a candy buffet and put up a banner that said “Happy Hallowedding” 😂
Honestly can't recall exactly what I wore on my nails that day, but it was a sheer pink, probably either Revlon or Cutex. We had far fewer choices in 1972!
Fun fact! I got married this past October and wore sequin ruby red slippers so my polish was Starrily’s “Mars”. Those galactic magnetics are STUNNING!! ❤✨💫
I wish I could remember what I wore to our wedding. It's been a while - 2008 ... I got two whites from Sally's. They were in smallish square bottles with white caps. Not Essie. One was like liquid paper white & I believe I wore that one on my toes. The other was a pearly white & I wore that on my fingers. We had a small wedding at a restaurant near the beach. So I kept it simple.
These are lovely; I did rose quartz effect stiletto nails with white opal Swarovski crystals for my wedding a couple of years ago…chose the nail design before the dress💎
Great pics!!! The Perfect Match is one of my favs of all time lol Love the inspiration! For my wedding I did a French mani with a small orange line just below the white. My fav color and my bridesmaids were wearing all different orange shades 🥰🧡🍊
I wore Zoya Bela on my wedding day ❤️ Glad to see it made it to your list. I think I did more than 3 coats to make it opaque and I added a pearlescent top coat, Essie Pure Pearlfection, for a touch of shimmer. It brings me back to that special day every time I wear it now 😊
This was such a great video! I never think about these beautiful light colors. Inloved the very first Orly and the A Englands. Love your lipstick! I got married in 1991 and had classic french mani with apricot/melon makeup.
I was going to ask about your wedding manicure 😂 so glad somebody else did ❤ and loooved this video, I love crellies with glitter so that is sonething I loved here and think I will personally pick soon 😉
I am currently wearing Holo Taco Pink Smoothing Base (2 coats) with Holo Taco Scattered Taco over it…it’s a beautiful pinky/white mani with a soft sparkle ✨ It shows my nail line a bit but it looks like a subtle French manicure which I think is always gorgeous for a wedding!!!
I'm getting married this summer, and I'm strongly considering Snow Angel by ILNP. For my engagements, I wore ILNP's Harmony 💓 I have a cooler skin tone, so it was a perfect mauvey nude for me.
You are amazing!! I must have watched this video at LEAST 5 times. I just got What a Pearl Wants and it is currently in the lead for my September wedding!!
China Glaze Pearl Jammin would be a great wedding polish with that pale blue base and gold pink shimmer. My wedding nail polish was a silver base with a gold almost duochrome shimmer that was called Platinum but I can't remember the brand as I bought it back in the late 90s. I used to use it as a topper to tone down my more vivid colors to more "acceptable" colors while working as a tour guide for the Franklin Roosevelt summer cottage on Campobello Island in Canada. It was a perfect polish for my wedding day as it wasn't a standard everyone else wears it color but still elegant and timeless.
i love 5,19, 20, 22, 23, and 24 their colors are so pretty😍 thank you Kelli for the video! i cant image how long it must have taken you to film all of this
I think I talked about this shade before. But if you want something that is a gel polish, my favourite shade has to be BP-MR13 from the Born Pretty Modern Romance set. It's this very interesting crelly nude that shifts colour depending on the light. Sometimes it looks more nude on me, sometimes more pinky and it has this gorgeous holographic shimmer in it. It's not a full on holo glitter but it's a fine shimmer with lots of space in between. So in normal lights it almost looks like a pearlescent shimmer polish, but in direct sunlight you get this gorgeous rainbow of tiny understated shimmer. Also the whole set has a bunch of nice wedding adjacent shades. I'm currently wearing BP-MR 18 which is a slightly gold champaigne fine glitter. But I also wore before BP-MR01 which is a gorgeous slightly golden again white pearly shade that in certain lighting it looks like a magnetic nail polish but it isn't. Also there are plenty of pinky light nudes in the set to match the fun ones. And it comes with a base and two top coats. Except I think the top coats are not the greatest as they need a slightly longer time to cure. I once had one of my matte nails miss a chunk of top coat and I noticed most nails could be easily dented with another nail and I didn't have to push hard. I think if you cure it a little longer it shouldn't be a problem though.
I’m so excited you made this video! I remember commenting about this sometime last year ❤ In similar vibes, I’m thinking holo taco toe beans, fifty shades of griege, and/or spyglass for my wedding next year.
Off topic but would you ever do a video of your all-time favorite shimmer polishes? I always find I'm drawn to nail polishes such as HT Alien Infatuation or Mooncat River Styx and would love a Kelli vid of the best shimmers!
Wow there are so many beautiful polishes to choose from if getting married…..if that was me, I would have terrible trouble tying to choose. I’m the opposite end of the scale lol, but recently got back into doing my nails. I haven’t done them since my younger days, but a gel system Sistaco has destroyed my nails, from nail bed splits to my nail lifting extremely bad. My nails are still healing but will never be taken in by Sistaco ever again and their revolutionary nail system…it’s all B.S. I just hope that none of your channel members ever get sucked into their hype. I have just discovered Mooncat, and purchased 23 colours when they had their sale. It’s so interesting watching your videos and finding so many amazing brands and colours. Living in Australia I found it difficult to find magnetic nail polish here, only in Gel which no way would I ever use again. I have now found a few, but it’s nice to know that nail polish now doesn’t take the time to dry like it did many moons ago. Thank you for your wonderful videos. Love from Australia. ❤️
Loved this video! I just wish I had it when I got married last year. It was so hard picking a color. I’m excited to maybe use a few of these colors for just regular manis because I’ve really been into to lighter softer shades lately.
I had a small wedding in Hawaii and I didn’t want to wear the boring wedding colors on my nails. I wore OPI Go With The Lava Flow from the Hawaii collection, I felt like it was fitting for a Hawaiian wedding. 😊🌺🌴
I wore a random dusty rose 🤷🏼♀️ I got a gel manicure at a local salon and just picked a color that looked close to one of my wedding colors, which were the basic “blush and burgundy” that has all of us 2014-2020 brides in a chokehold 😂 I loved it though and still do. If I were to do my own nails for my wedding NOW and use regular polish I would have a hard time choosing between Essie imported bubbly, boatloads of love, or OPI altar ego! I also love a basic pale white/pink for special occasions.
The last thing I ever wanted was a big wedding with all the headaches. So both of my weddings were town hall specials. No photographers, no receptions, only 2-3 friends standing up with us, and no bloody meringue bridal gowns, just nice dresses that i looked good in. I did wear a hat, both times, with a veil. Nail polish for the first wedding was one of the all-time bestselling polishes, Revlon Cherries in the Snow (STILL one of my fave reds). Second wedding: OPI Kyoto Pearl. The groom (current husband) said he would leave me at the altar if I wore Chanel Vamp like I'd planned. 'I'm not marrying bloody Elvira!' I had to ask my manicurist for a recommendation, because all I wore was crazy polish (Vamp, purples, greens, black, arty nails, etc). Kyoto Pearl was toning things way down for me.
I think Fancy Gloss Winter Winds would be nice for the "something blue". It's a white jelly with silver micro glitters and blue metallic flakes. So it would go with a beaded sparkly white dress but also have a touch of blue.
@@KelliMarissa Tempted by gemini and i, i'm not big on astrology but my fiance is a gemini and i love the shade HAHA I think a nice soft shimmery white-ish shade feels like a safer pick BUT ILNP SNOW GLOBE IS EXACTLY MY VIBE! I'm not sure how it'd look with the whole look but I'm SUCH a blue/green polish wearer
@@KelliMarissa I am experiencing them myself using Essie's new orchid jelly and Sally Hansen's confetti craze. They are fun, thanks to you showing us how. Thank you😍
Great time to do this video! Also I can’t wait to see your swatches of the new HT collection, hoping we can see it tomorrow afternoon! You always help me make the right choices. ❤
@@KelliMarissa Darn it! I forgot you have a schedule, all my days blend together right now, I’m 5 months into being a first time mom. 😅 Can’t wait to watch Monday then!! 🥰 Thank you!
I’ve been trying to decide what to wear for my wedding ever since I got engaged! I’ve been leaning towards BKL Lemon, but there are some great options here. Something I’d be interested to see is a comparison of “jewel toned” nail polishes. I’ve been trying to match my engagement ring - I got close with Emily de Molly See Through You but it’s just not quite deep enough 😅
After an extensive search, I finally found the ideal nude nail polish for me: OPI Infinite Shine 2 in Basic Baddie. I have a neutral undertone and wish more brands would offer a neutral line. For reference, I use Laura Mercier's Real Flawless Weightless Perfecting Waterproof Foundation in the shade 4N2 Tea, which is medium with neutral undertones.
Are you able to make a video of your favorite nude, pink, and soft colored nail polish with sparkle (non-shimmer)? For example: ILNP - Daybreak, ILNP - Up Above, and What’s up nails - Desert Rose. I’ve recently been into the nude-pink and soft/pastel-colored polishes with subtle but still visible sparkle in them. I was also wondering if you could add clips/videos of what the polish looks like on your hand from a distance. I find that the sparkle/shimmer of a lot of polishes aren’t visible when seen with the naked eye from a regular distance without a camera zooming in. I think that would definitely help me get a better idea of which polish I want to buy. Great video btw!
I wore a cream colored dress with gold glitter nails when I got married and I also have white gold jewelry. It looked really pretty even though my jewelry was silver toned.
All of these would be great everyday colors too! Wouldn't it be cool if the bride and groom had matching nails? Or if the bride's nails matched the bridesmaid's dresses?
I still have the polish I wore for my wedding! It's Orly Wishing Well & I just opened it and swatched it....wow, it's so old and smells horrible now, but the color is still perfect!
Omg I got married in 2012 wearing magenta nails 😂. My dress was a beautiful traditional white with beautiful embroidery. And then I go and wear *that* color🤦🏻♀️. Even the mani on my profile pic would've been better!
I got married in 2017 and I wore a grey-ish mauve cream polish from a Swedish brand named Depend 😊 I wanted to wear a blue holo, but it clashed with my rockabilly style dress that was purple with brown dots 😀
@@KelliMarissa Thank you 😊 I never wear dresses, so I knew a super feminine traditional white dress, would feel so wrong. So I wore it with black leggings and a borola, and with black wedge heel boots that had spikes on them 😀
I think HT frosted metals in fake date and gift receipt make for nice wedding polishes. My best friend is getting married this year and I sent this video to her. I got married a couple years ago and did gel polish because at the time, I couldn’t find a good top coat and base coat combo so I didn’t want to risk chipping my polish.. but if I were to get married now, I have more faith in my base and top coat combo Edit: like you, my husband and I are incredibly shy and private. We ended up eloping. Weddings are such a personal thing. Having a large ceremony can be right for some people but completely wrong for others so I never judge what people decide to do.
I have a similar shade to Cadillacquer Breath of Fresh Air and I thought I’d love it but the pinky base with splattered white just gives off bacon bits vibes. Mine doesn’t have shimmer so perhaps that’s the issue - I’ll have to try layering a pinky shimmer over top and see if it improves things!
If you want sparkly, white wedding nails, check these out: Mooncat - curiosity’s prey (crelly flaky) Lurid lacquer - the sky above (sheer flaky bomb with flash glitter) Bees knees lacquer - a human life is a beautiful thing (HHC unfortunately, beautiful satiny white-gold-grey pearl)
I love desert rose I’ve got that I like light nude pinks with gold flecks or a scattered holo. I’ve also got Sally Hansen pink cloud it’s one of my favourites.
I think in the nail community people are more likely to be a little wilder with their wedding manicures. At least in some of the groups I'm on you will see them asking for recommendations about which shimmer or vampy shade... I love that! But for me it would be a cool white crelly, I think. Or maybe a French manicure. I love that you went so traditional; I would not have expected that. What did you wear for your wedding?
Haha yesss I think most of our community avoids the traditional in favor of bold and funky! It's interesting because I truly am so colorful, a lot of people were surprised when I told them I had a french mani for my wedding 😂 but I think it being so unexpected for me is what made it more special - as in, I wear bold colors all the time so it did feel like a very different kind of special occasion to have a french mani 😅 I did wear a white dress too but since it was a private elopement I didn't have anything fancy on, it was just a cute little sundress haha!
Tomorrow morning Holo Taco has a white crushed holo with a subtle pinky-goldish shimmer coming out. We haven't gotten many peeks or leaks of the white one but I think it could be weddingish. The crushed holo formula is *barely* holo so it's not ultra flashy. It's more toned down, for an alleged holo.
I got married this past new year's eve with a celestial theme, and I wore Starrily's AU (the perfect gold, I will die on this hill) with gold star charms on my ring finger nails. My gown was covered in stars as well. ✨💃✨

Zoya Bela is one of my all time favorite polishes! Laurie is similar but more white leaning, also a solid banger.
It was a perfect polish for my wedding day as it wasn't a standard everyone else wears it color but still elegant and timeless.
i love 5,19, 20, 22, 23, and 24
their colors are so pretty😍
thank you Kelli for the video! i cant image how long it must have taken you to film all of this
Oh yay I'm so glad you enjoyed 🥰🥰🥰 worth it!!
I got married a long time ago, but I did a blush pink in your face glitter and loved it. Similar to OPI Teenage Dream. I like a less traditional look!
Nice collection! I like the blue shades and the last glittery toppers.
I definitely need to do a jelly sandwich for the next wedding I attend haha!
I want to redo my wedding just so I can pick out a polish! 😂 The Starrily Moonflower is my pick!!
Haha! We should just have a wedding month so we can wear all the pretty wedding polishes 😂
So it would go with a beaded sparkly white dress but also have a touch of blue.
how did she know im getting married 😳
😅 it's wedding season!! What color are you thinking of wearing?? 💅🤍
@@KelliMarissa Tempted by gemini and i, i'm not big on astrology but my fiance is a gemini and i love the shade HAHA
I think a nice soft shimmery white-ish shade feels like a safer pick BUT ILNP SNOW GLOBE IS EXACTLY MY VIBE! I'm not sure how it'd look with the whole look but I'm SUCH a blue/green polish wearer
@KelliMarissa ALWAYS knows what we need, when we need it 😂
Congratulations 🎉
🎉
Yay! Congrats 🍾 💍
I love the jelly sandwich ones. So cool!❤
Ahh thank you! Jelly sandwiches are seriously underrated imo haha!!
It should be up on Monday! 💅✨ I try to keep my uploads to Mon, Wed, and Fri 😅 but I'm excited to see them!
Got married very long ago and wasn’t wearing polish back then. But so many of these shades I would definitely wear for any occasion! ❤
Yesss I'm thinking great work event colors too haha!!
“the person whose wedding it is”
I see what you did there and I love that you did it. 🤍🌈
Always 🥰🥰🥰🥰🌈
6:54 have you tried the U-shaped magnet hack for getting the aura / velvet style easily?
I still haven't!! I should order one 😅
What a cool video idea!
Thank you Bernice 🥰🥰
...... You haven't seen Cinderella? How is that possible!
The perfect match looks like a beautiful sunset.
Not me already owning most of these… I guess I have a type 😂
Haha! Nothing beats a classic neutral/soft color!!
So many great choices!
I wore Emily De Molly Goddess of Rays (the original formulation) and it was glorious 😎💅
Beautiful polishes. ❤
Glad you like my picks!! 🥰🥰🥰
I was thinking of Desert Rose! Happy to see it featured!
Painted Polish is just so gorgeous, opening the site right now to check if they ship here 😂
Yesss such an underrated brand!!
All of these would be great everyday colors too! Wouldn't it be cool if the bride and groom had matching nails? Or if the bride's nails matched the bridesmaid's dresses?
I think that would be amazing!! And the groomsmen could match the grooms nails haha! When I was a bridesmaid, we all did matching nails 😅💅
I feel like Cirque has a few sheers and jellies that would work as well.
I would totally wear Mooncat Curiosity's prey with a matte topcoat for my weddinggg
I got married in 2017 and I wore a grey-ish mauve cream polish from a Swedish brand named Depend 😊 I wanted to wear a blue holo, but it clashed with my rockabilly style dress that was purple with brown dots 😀
Ooh that's such a fun dress!!!
I got married a couple years ago and did gel polish because at the time, I couldn’t find a good top coat and base coat combo so I didn’t want to risk chipping my polish.. but if I were to get married now, I have more faith in my base and top coat combo
Edit: like you, my husband and I are incredibly shy and private. We ended up eloping. Weddings are such a personal thing. Having a large ceremony can be right for some people but completely wrong for others so I never judge what people decide to do.
I wore ORLY Light My Campfire with a black+iridescent topper accent nail 🧡🖤🧡🖤 October wedding, black dress :)
Omg a literal dream, I love it haha!!!
Really love ilnp secret society!! I wore opi's a butterfly moment from a Mariah Carey collab yearssss ago
Ohhh I remember that color!!! 😍😍
I wore a French manicure for my wedding, but I wasn’t as obsessed with polish back then😂Wish I could have a do over!
Ooh what would you pick now?? 👀
@@KelliMarissa Ooh almost missed this! I think something like Holo Taco Rainbow Snow or Mooncat Antivenom🤍
Watching this while my sister will get married in 5 days🤭 Perfect timing and lovely picks!
Ooh that's so exciting!! Glad you liked my faves 🥰🥰
If you want sparkly, white wedding nails, check these out:
Mooncat - curiosity’s prey (crelly flaky)
Lurid lacquer - the sky above (sheer flaky bomb with flash glitter)
Bees knees lacquer - a human life is a beautiful thing (HHC unfortunately, beautiful satiny white-gold-grey pearl)
I love desert rose I’ve got that I like light nude pinks with gold flecks or a scattered holo. I’ve also got Sally Hansen pink cloud it’s one of my favourites.
Yesss it's such a beautiful sheer pink!
What a great and unique video! I really enjoyed it!
Thank you so much!
Yesss I'm excited to see that one!
