Truly The Goat of pip Christian music during his big shine time. Truly a gifted artist a man of God like no other. I Grew up on Carman he is and had huge influence on me then. His music still hits with me now as a man of God myself. Love that powerful brother in Chirst. Miss him a lot has always been a top personal favorite of mine. I am a A2J born again child unafraid and unashamed about my lord Savior Jesus Christ. Thank You Jesus and Thank you Carman.
That's for sure his legacy definitely lives on! I heard a guy on Daystar was giving his testimony and how he went to a Carmen concert and got saved at the altar call. How awesome is that! That's the fruit of his labor being used by God. You just never know what seeds you planted until people share their testimony like that guy did I thought that was awesome!
1955, Come into this House, Satan-Bite the dust, The Third Heaven, Hunger for Holiness, A Witch's Invitation, Sunday's on the way, This Blood, Revive us, Oh, Lord, Soap song, I feel Jesus, and so many more..... These were among the many songs, that defined Carman as a true Contemporary Christian Artist.
We've come a long way from messages like this in our Christian hip hop. Now we don't even label it "Christian" for the sake of sales. Jesus forgive us for doing our best to hide in the bushes
Me too !! I got saved in the 90s when I was 16 n Carmen one the first influences on my life him n Crystal Lewis, this is one of the first songs I ever heard aa a new born believer, God is so Good! Rip Carmen.Im still addicted to Jesus!!
I saw Carman in concert twice in Providence Rhode Island and Worster Mass in the 90's he was a great man of God i miss him but I'll meet him in Heaven when my time comes 🙏🏻
The last comment...I found out the news...that Carman had passed...THAT hit me hard...I hadn't heard until now of his passing...I wept...as Carman was a major influence in my walk with Jesus...Addicted To Jesus is my favorite song by Carman...it says it all in this old man's walk with Jesus...Jesus grabbed a hold of this old man's life...and He has never let go...and I can't get enough of Jesus...addicted to Jesus I am...RIP Brother...I will see you on the other side.
When Carman came up , the big names that rose with him included Rich Mullins. Much like Mullins, Carman did not make it on singing talent or having some spectacular voice and dance moves. He made it on being a hard core Christian worshiping God. Talent was there, don't get me wrong, but not Elaine Paige or Nirvana levels. But of all the music from the 80's and 90's Rich Mullins Vastly surpasses Carman in staying power. I haven't seen Carman songs in too many Hymnals, but Mullins has quite a few, including "awesome God" and "creed" in there. Mullins had a great gift for seeing things, and extracting wisdom that few others could. A man so dedicated to God that he literally made a hit song about loving the color green. Seriously, look up Rich Mullins' "the color green" song, and tell me that's not the most unique thing to thank God for that actually made a hit song content?
I remember when I was little my family and I went to the Carmen Concert Called ROCK it was Awesome and blessing and we met Carmen back stage and he shake my family and I hand, his cds, including the autograph signed by him that was the best moment in my life. And now he's home with the Lord. Carmen we love you and we missed you R.I.P And God Blessed.
I have fond childhood memories of riding to Chicago in the pouring rain in the backseat of my dad's 96 Suburban with Carman blasting from the cassette player. RIP Carman.
I can't stop smiling watching this. Lots of sweet memories of my childhood for sure. But just real joy for people like Carman. You were a true blessing to the kingdom sir. Enjoy with your rest with Jesus. We'll see you soon! Can't wait to dance with you in heaven.
The cool thing is that all of us that listened to his sons back then … are still here … staying strong with the Lord ❤ he really influenced us big time
Yes, me too. I've cried a bit. I really did like him and his message. God is good all the time. I'm sure he heard, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."
Carman may not be here, physically, but his music will live on, FOREVER!!! I remember the A²J World Tour concert in Dallas. "Praise the Lord with your feet" got loud. :)
Legitimately better than 99% of other 90's rap songs. lmao. This song was how i found out about DC Talk. I really wish they had stayed together for a few more years, but the music they each made after splitting up really showed their individual musical aspects and performance preferences. Love these old songs.
Carmen def crossed the thresholds between generations. He was such a Jesus lover... We will never forget the impact you had in youth across the nations...
I was introduced to Carmen's music through my mom and went to see him in concert and I totally enjoyed myself and his music has gotten me through some very hard times. RIP CARMEN
My dad and his buddy were building my families house back in the late 90s. We were in the woods up in Alaska and this was playing at a reasonable volume
I'm so upset that I found out 2 years later that he passed. I was thinking about who's in the house, go to look at the comments and that's where I seen the news. The only man to do almost every genre of music and be great! Awesome live and the videos are timeless...RIP
R.I.P. Carman. His Music will live on down hear on earth as he goes on with the Lord in Heaven. Thank you for a great ministry! Now it's time for you to rest in the arms of Jesus.
i mean, i liked it back when i was a christian, but even then, i think some of his later stuff was better. this song, honestly, it has NOT aged well. but one of the biggest reasons is because the 90s themself have not aged well. that said, like what you like of course.
