"Ike Clanton was shot and killed in an attempted bank robbery in Dodge City seven weeks later". Best news in the whole movie next to Virgil becoming a Sheriff despite having one arm.
Ike was killed in Northern Arizona following a stage robbery, by the lawman tracking him. Virgil became the Constable of Colton, California in 1884; then the first Marshal of Colton, in 1886; then was nominated for sheriff of Yavapai County, Arizona in 1900. Then was appointed a deputy sheriff in Goldfield Nevada in 1904.
O remember watching the encode western Channel when we first got satellite with my dad. I don't know of they still do these or not, but then, they did these true west bits in between shows with Bob boze bell. Qt one point, he talked about how Virgil arm was useless due to a piece of the bone being missing from the wound at the ok corral. He ended up freaking out a deputy after joining a posse due to his arm flapping around at odd angles because of the missing bone piece.

I have no idea why this movie gets so much praise. The music is almost as bad as the movie itself. No idea why Tombstone gets the kind of praise that it gets. It isn't a good western at all, and it's a below average film at best with stale cliche dialogue, uninteresting characters (aside from Val Kilmer), and an amateurish plot line filled to the brim with continuity issues.
