- Something a bit different ☺️
Imagine that all around you, hidden from sight, there are thousands of tiny people.
They are four inches tall, brave, stubborn and resourceful.
They are the nomes.
The nomes in this story live under the floorboards of a large Department Store and have never been Outside. In fact, they don’t even believe in Outside. But new nomes arrive, from - where else? - and they bring with them terrifying news: the Store is closing down and Everything Must Go . . .
The fantastically funny first book of the nomes, from the author of the bestselling Discworld series.
Something a bit different 😊
It is different but very enjoyable. Thank you, sir. 🤗
@@davidbryden7904yeah wanted to upload something new and hopefully people may like it as it’s funny and entertaining. Glad you like it 😊
I was 31 when Terry Pratchett's "The Color of Magic" was published. I was far too busy with "adulting" to be aware of treasures that lay between the covers of Pratchett's works. With my 72nd birthday approaching, I now have the option of putting adult activities aside for a time and pick up on some more important mental exercises. Unlike printed books or movies, audiobooks allow me to entertain the still present child within while pretending to care that the dishes are washed and the floor is swept.
I only wish I had another old kid to share these books with. The world needs more old kids to teach the young kids to hold on to the small pleasures that gives us a bit of a break from mandatory adulthood.
Many thanks to Story Time and other RUclips creators for making the likes of Terry Pratchett available to people like me.
You'll have to acquaint yourself with Sir Terry's disc world. These are not remotely childish but the childlike delight in humanity shines through. So much to enjoy.
Terry is legend 😂😂 the story's always just hit the spot ❤🇮🇪
This book (trilogy ) plus Nation feel so discworld, I love all four of these books right up there with any discworld book. They are all classics. Thanx for all your uploads.
Im glad you like it and you’re very welcome
Strata is another. The main character teraforms worlds. She was demoted for writing her name with mountains. And then it gets stranger...
Talk about world building!
These stories are important for adults to listen to because they describe how people get together
Any Prachet book is good for adults & kids. So many levels to them, plus it’s good to see things through the eyes of a child as an adult sometimes
This is such a good series.. hurry up with the next two…. Please🙏🙏I have just started listening to this making dinner and I just know I am going to binge listen to it over the evening…..🤗❤️
Next one will be here tomorrow sorry just a bit busy right now. But glad you like it 😊

Thank you so much for Truckers! It is a favorite of my kids (and me) and it's been hard to find lately.
Ooo! This was my first TP book! So many moons ago...
Read all the disc books plus strata. Just began listening to these. Thanks so much!
Agreed. I think it was wriiten for teen and young adult readers, but unlike most of that genre, this can be enjoyed by all ages. Thank you. 😊
You’re very welcome
I actually saw the stop motion adaptation by Cosgrove Hall first before discovering the books.
Is it just me or does Girder sound very much like an Igor? 😂
