    Great video as always. Some of the most fun I had was working on an absolute pile of junk lt230 quadsport with my dad when I was a kid. I'll never forget the day I finally got to ride it, I went all the way down the street and back in first gear because I was afraid to stall it and it would never start again haha. Good to see you just help out without taking cheap shots at anyone. Keep up the great work!

      @@rockspowersports I rode it for years we just kept fixing as it broke. Those 230s were durable! Lol

    Look at the cup piece behind the recoil assembly. Loosen the bolt that you were turning to find top dead center. I had a very similar noise on my big bear engine. It drove me nuts, i tripple checked everything and couldn't find were the noise was coming from. Im guessing previous owner used an impact or overtightened the crank bolt for the recoil. I backed it off a hair and the noise went completely away. Its either that or it could be a blocked oil passage on the head since they went a little overboard on silicone.

    Deffinately some engine noise ! Interested to see what it may be , should the customer want to tear down .
    Finishing up a rear axle hub rebuild & drum breaks (front & rear ) on my daughters Trx 90 . My warrior 350 will be coming in Nxt for pre season chk over & oil change , anxious to get on the trails here in Maine . Expected trail openeing May 15...& now snow coming this Sat ....lol
    Enjoy you're content . 😎

      Yeah, still waiting on the direction they’d like to go.
      Sounds like you have some work cut out for you.. those drum brakes tend to rust and stick in there pretty bad. maybe not as bad with the trx90, probably doesn’t see as much mud and water as a lot of the Honda 4x4’s I’m use to!
      I’m ready for the Atv trails to open as well but ours open around the same time as you.
      I’m glad you enjoy the content!

    Absolutely love these videos and grizzlies are my favorite machines. It really does sound like a top end knock- i was really hoping that the valves were out of adjustment. It certainly seems like you have to open up the top end of the motor to go forward with trying to fix it. Keep up the awesome content! Cant wait for the next video

      I’m glad you enjoy these videos! The grizzly’s are one of my favorites as well, although I prefer the 660’s and 700’s.
      Still waiting to hear back from the owner, but once I do I’ll get right back to it.

    • @Pjw350
      @Pjw350 7 месяцев назад

      I bought an 01 600 brand new- now i have 2- 660’s and i have 2 more 600’s that need attention. These machines are to the point where they need the clutches looked at, new diff seals, carb cleaning, new wheel bearings and they should be ready for another 20 years of service with regular maintenance.

    That is terrible, but the frame can be welded. But the one thing that is overlooked is the father and son time, once complete, it will hold a higher value for the kid and a good learning experience too. On a side note, enjoy the sled weather!

    • @rockspowersports
      @rockspowersports  7 месяцев назад +1

      The Frame can absolutely be fixed and you know I did overlook that aspect of it. Father and son memories are priceless.

    Hey Rock I have a 94 250 timberwolf and I'm having a hard time finding a pinion gear for it everywhere I look they skip the 94 and 95 in the years they fit. I was just wondering what's the difference in the pinion gears because they say that 92-93 and 96-00 are the same but the 94 and 95 are different

      Absolutely man, always good to ask the questions just in case. I’ve had a bunch of machines act similar with a broken diaphragm, had a Kingquad not too long ago with that same issue.
      This one seems to be starving for fuel.

      Honestly I’m not sure, this is just what I was told. It looks to be a new base gasket and head gasket so possibly a new piston and rings.. I know they said they spent a lot on hardware. Then they had a bill from the last shop they brought the carb to..
