Crazy. One of the prime reasons for recording the numbers is so that you can check the MOT or accident history, because you can bet they aren't going to be up front about it if there's something amiss.

I remember as a kid at school we would all sit outside taking numbers plates information and then we would go back to class and work out percentages,averages and make graphs 📈. Nowadays the kids would all be treated like criminals. What’s the world coming to.
Used to get a penny off the police for every hundred numbers we took down; it was in the fifties, it was to see what cars had been in the area.

I tell ya, this is one of the weirdest excuses in some shops.. SURELY you should be allowed to take photos of products in retail places.. you might want to decide later which one to buy, or you need to show the missus to see if you're allowed to buy it.. and that (as well as any other reason you want to remember/record something) should be pretty much noone's fkn business!! Absolute sausage that guy was.. Another great example of the silly excuses use to harass everyone and anyone in our world these days Regski. Well recorded.
I do it all the time in shopping centers. I take pictures, not for me personally, but for her indoors. She asks me to visit a certain shop, for a certain item, then she compares what picture I took, then looks on the internet to see if she can get the same item cheaper. Nobody has ever stopped me doing that. It's normal.
I've taken photos in Morrisons on many an occasion when the pricing doesn't make sense and pulled them up at the checkouts, shifty beggars, I'm now quids in.
jobsworths who make a problem of recording like to play with the context behind it, for example that bullring location shopping centre that has public access to the shops, if you're openly recording they tell you not to, but passers by on facetime or taking selfies is totally fine.
same in a supermarket how many times have you seen people on facetime to their family checking what they need but recording yourself buying your shopping would be frowned upon

A car garage has issues with you talking notes of registrations of their cars for sale ? The numbers that you'd be able to see on their website, Do they not want you get get a car data check by the AA to make sure the car you're intested in has not been stolen or has outstanding finance on it. Arnaold Clark must be one of those cowboy dodgy motor traders to keep well away from.

If I was the owner of Arnold Clark this numpty would be fired first thing in the morning after seeing this. You could have been willing to spend a considerable amount of money Reggie, even buy more than one vehicle and he’s just lost that potential sale and more importantly a loyal customer.

Jesus christ that was ridiculous, is he for real? I'm proper lost for words at that one. Walking around an open car park with vehicles for sales simply taking notes and get told to leave as it's unusual behaviour. This needs sending to their head office, he said he wasn't from sales so assume he's a higher up, his approach and his reaction was unbelievable. Never buying from that company if that's how they treat potential customers.

I would have thought writing details for potential car purchases in a large car dealer would be perfectly normal behaviour. Not as common as it once was with many doing the same thing digitally now, but not rare enough to cause this sort of alarm.

I wonder sometimes if there's a production line somewhere, busy producing thousands and thousands of these self-important, officious little 'jobsworths'. Presumably this fine example is employed by Ronald Clark Motorstore (but obviously not in the PR Department). Just thirty seconds after asking a potential customer to leave the site, he makes a complete U turn and informs the potential customer that he is welcome to browse the vehicles offered for sale. You just couldn't make it up...
Need to do this when I get my new car. And any that do this, drive back with my new car and ask the bloke how much he would of made commission, then laugh and drive off.

Never take the word of a car salesperson at hand when buying a vehicle, always look under the bonnet and mostly inspect the under carriage too before deciding to buy or not. Fronting anyone with that attitude tells you to walk away and don't look back. Plenty more sales forecourts to see. Your eyes can tell you a lot by simply looking first. be weary of sites like this one.
Arnold Clark once looking in blackpool around cars was offered a deal on one .I was after a better deal as my Ford focus was immaculate on being 5years old let him look at it then wanted it on ramp to further inspect after about 10 minutes it's still being inspected told them to drop it down as we're not doing any deal took about 30 minutes. Would never go near the place again bought hounding next door within 5minutes great salesman.
After seeing this I'll make sure never to buy a car from Arnold Clark. I mean I wouldn't anyways. But that's absolutely shocking customer service. Very poor advertisement for them...

When I go shopping I often have a list of things to buy that I refer to. If I forget the list I invariably go home without one or two things. I will have to remember not to add to the list when in Tesco, ( there are other shops available) in case I get booted out.😀
