Thanks for that interview. Good question. I can think of only reason you would not like this and that would be if you disliked Roy Clark but if you dislike Roy Clark why on earth would you click on a video with the words "ROY CLARK" in the title?
One of the best interviews I’ve ever heard. Roy was allowed to tell us his stories, uninterrupted by this fine interviewer. Rarely does an interviewer have enough confidence in the interviewees to allow them to talk. Roy lived a fulfilling and productive life. He was a phenom, a phenomenal man. I enjoyed him since the early 60s.
A musical legend, and a truly exceptional human being. They just don’t make them like Roy Clark anymore. Here is an American that we could all emulate and be proud of.
One morning back in 1974, my sister and I were standing at the crossroads of two dirt roads near our house outside of Springer, Oklahoma, waiting for the school bus. A baby blue car came speeding down the road, heading East. As the car went past us, we could see it was full of men, and on the passenger side of the front seat sat a round man, grinning and waving at us. My sister and I immediately looked at each other and simultaneously said, That was Roy Clark! I don't know who the other men in the car were. Could have been Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs in there with him. I don't know, but it was a thrill seeing Roy. We had to wait all day, until we got home from school, to tell our parents about seeing Mr. Clark.
How is it going? Hope the journey has been amazing for you. And Pavarotti had it all from young some say if you got you got and Pavarotti has got it. Made to sing just like roy was made to play the stringes.
Hey guys. I fell in love with the guitar when I knew my daughter was passionate about it. After the last couple of years, I have a solid understanding of music theory as well as a solid understanding of the fretboard. As far as skill, I'm just "ok" right now. I can play a few songs but I mostly like to just put on jam tracks and improvise.
Even though his mic level is a little low, his exuberance shines through! He's awesome, legendary - and not given enough credit by popular guitarists today. Multi-talented and multi-genre!
back in the 70's I was involved in Radio controlled airplanes, not many know it but Roy was well known in those circles, he flew models to relax, and he was just like any of the other guys on the field. never boasting or acting arrogant, just having fun like the rest of us.
I remember living in Tulsa and meeting Roy in business. I visited his home and always remember his guitar and banjo sitting by the front door waiting on him to take on the road. Always super nice.
I always loved the faces he would make as he was playing. It was like he was having such a great time. Pickin, rolling his eyes, biting his tongue, I loved it!!!

I bet he cursed and rolled his eyes as he walked away. Everyone LOVES to be interrupted while they're trying to earn a living. That was very thoughtful of you to stop him and force him to talk. I bet you push people out of the way in line, too. Don't ya?
What a wonderful interview! I went to Roy Clark Elementary in Tulsa Oklahoma when it was first built, and I could not be prouder of the man and his legacy. He has, and always will be, a class act.
Roy Clark, Chet Atkins, Glen Campbell, Jerry Reed, all guitar legends, but Roy will always be the one who showed it off the best and him and Jerry Reed added the comedy so I say well done Roy

Thank You for an excellent interview between two gentlemen. No one was interrupted. Fantastic. Mr. Roy Clark, is America's Greatest National Treasure, and I think is someone we all can look up to and say, "When I grow up, I wanna be just like him". I know I did. There are no more heroes, but this gentleman. I love you, Mr. Roy Clark. Thank You for all the good times, for each and every laugh, and there were many, from a young kid watching TV, and learning to treat other human beings with love, honor and respect. I had an excellent example in you. You are unequaled in all your instrumental talents, and human talents, and in the honor and respect you genuinely show everyone. Many say your one of the best at what you do, but I say, "You are the best at what You do", and I'm sorry I never got to meet you, but the way I saw you conduct yourself on TV, makes me think I knew you, and fills me with joy that I could share with you, what you dispensed so freely and genuinely, from your heart. I'm honored to have spent some time with you, though it has been from afar. Thank You for all I have learned from you, may your days be many, your paths be smooth, with the sun at your back, and a rainbow always touching your shoulder. God Bless You Sir, you have been a blessing in my live, Mr. Roy Clark. Thank You very much.

It's a shame today's young people have such a short attention span. There's a lot that can be learned from our elders (famous or not), especially when they are as open as Roy. I remember him from Hee Haw and for being a top notch musician. But this interview offers a nice insight into his career that I never knew. Thanks for posting.
You young fellows, keep this in mind. Roy Clark could play anything with strings as well as anybody walking the Earth these days. And he could do it with a smile on his face looking you in the eye.

One major thing all the great musicians have in common besides talent...., is a totally consuming semi-pathological obsession with playing music that totally overwhelms and controls their heart, mind, and soul to a point where “all” they want to do in every moment in their lives is play music. If you can relate to this, give me a thumbs up.

Amazing memory. Roy recalls all details decades back. That's really great. Very intelligent guy.
I don't think I can say anything that hasn't been said already. All I can do is give love to Roy. I gave it and TY for allowing me to see this video. I respect respect and Roy offered it even when he didn't need to offer it.
Just a great sincere & well-rounded fellow......... For all of the happy memories, and all you have done for mankind, sir.... Thank you so much, Roy !! You are a fine man !!
It's a shame today's young people have such a short attention span. There's a lot that can be learned from our elders (famous or not), especially when they are as open as Roy. I remember him from Hee Haw and for being a top notch musician. But this interview offers a nice insight into his career that I never knew. Thanks for posting.
one of the very best...I grew up listening to his music..the man is a delight
You young fellows, keep this in mind. Roy Clark could play anything with strings as well as anybody walking the Earth these days. And he could do it with a smile on his face looking you in the eye.
Roy was so talented! Nothing he couldn’t do on stage. Buy than again every minute of his life he was on stage. Miss you Roy Clark and thank you for the fun memories.
"I was always interested in sound." Frank Zappa said the same thing. Different takes on music but both beautiful minds for music!
he is a legend up here in Canada as well i grew up watching him on tv amazing talent if you havent seen him yet check out a guitarist by the name of Justin Johnson another good old boy who plays allmost anything with strings another amazing talent!
Hey, I love you Roy Clark... Been listening to you for years... such an amazing musician... you've given an awful lot of people some amazing entertainment and feelings that only music can provide. Thank you sir.
Lessons to live by......Roy Clark is an amazing person......not just a face or a musician......he's amazing from the inside out.....so humble......the only person that can duplicate Roy is the Man upstairs.......👍👍👍👍
What a talent, to hear him say his thoughts is, it makes me feel grateful.
It makes me so happy this man is still alive and kicking. Amazing talent. Absolutely amazing.

Not anymore.
Our luck has run out. RIP Roy Clark
Rip I love this man
He flew airplanes, cool dude! I was at the Muskogee, Oklahoma airshow 2001. He flew in to the airshow in a B-25. He got out with his band and they did the national anthem bluegrass country style! I was standing next to the stage and was just in aw
Mr. Clark, thank you for sharing your positive attitude towards living. :)
Amazing interview, thanks for posting, Roy Clark one of the best guitar players ever, true American, never be another
Man played a mean guitar, and "Yesterday" just lays me down every time I hear it.
Love this beautiful man!! Glad to see him here happy and well! Blessings, Roy!
