Many musicians over the years take their fans for granted. Roy never did. He was asked once why he gives his all in every performance. His answer was simple; this may be the only show some of them ever pay to see so they deserve to see the best I have. Pity there aren't more like him. May he rest in peace.
My mom, dad and I met Roy Clark as Roy was getting out of an elevator in Nashville in the late 60s. Dad, was, such a, fan of his and I think dad got his autograph. Later we heard him play ad the grand old oprey! What a, talented man
"I do this with mixed emotions. Because I am gonna show off". Then proceeds to let every player have as much time as he takes. What a great player and, even more importantly, a great guy. You can always tell the guys that are fun to play with. Look at the guys in the band. They are having a blast. What a great gig. Not a guy on that stage ever forgot playing with the master, Roy Clark.
Roy was laying Brick for my Uncle Roy in New Mexico at a Water Plant, Roy Clark told my Uncle I got an offer to do a Gig in Vegas, My Uncle that was also a good Guitarist, Handed Clark his Pay Check and said GET YOUR FAT ASS in that Purple Cadillac He was pulling a Small Travel Trailer and go on to VEGAS you Got TALENT, Next time My Uncle Seen Clark He was on HE HAW.
what makes Roy's talent so fantastic is his ability to make his playing look so ridiculously easy when in fact it's very hard to do that well. RIP and belated thanks for giving us such a great time when you performed.
What an incredible talent he had. Rest in Peace, Roy. You were loved by millions. The people who hit the dislike button are nothing but useless trolls.
I was fortunate enough to have met Mr. Clark at The Crosby celebrity golf tournament back in the 90s. He was as down to earth as he seemed on stage. He took time to stop and share a laugh with me and my family before teeing off. I’ve always had respect for him but that few moments he spent with us really showed that he didn’t put himself above everyone else and that just added even more respect for him. Rest In Peace Roy. You and Charlie can entertain the angels in heaven for ever.
After watching Roy on Black and White TV I made it a point to see him perform. This was before rock concerts and having any idea what a concert was. I saw him around the Summer of 1995. Treasure this artist.
Never been much of a country music fan. Nothing personal against anyone - we all have our personal tastes one way or another and I hope "your music" does for you what "my music" does for me. But every so often we get someone like Roy here...someone who is a true *musician* who transcends genre and even personal taste - someone whose dedication to his art and craft is so total and complete that it must be respected full stop. I don't care what your personal preferences are - you're as entitled to them as I am and the next person - but mad props where they are due. Roy Clark is a master of any stringed instrument, across multiple genres. I heard an interview with him not long before his passing. At that age, one might be forgiven for being dismissive of the style of the moment. Yet there he was, still wondering if there wasn't something he could learn from the music of the moment. Always learning; always open to new thing - a *true* musician. And, in my opinion, for what it's worth, an underappreciated one.
R Clark great musican n entertainer loved him all the way. Such a fun loving happy go loving person. Very talented man with the string instrument family Wow magnificent rip Roy you are missed.
Awwww,,,,, Roy and Buck! It musta been great to see that show.... or any show of theirs for that matter but this when Roy’s getting old, made me so happy but very sad all mixed together. Awww...
I'm not being prejudiced or nothing but I still still still believe that Roy Clark and Jimmy Henley were the best when Jimmy was young I wish we had some videos when Jimmy was older and he had played again with Roy Clark
For all the comments on the sound quality...you know, we don't know the circumstances on that windy day. Roy was such a professional, he just put his whole heart and soul into it and left the rest to the audience. He didn't walk off in a huff, berate the sound tech, or alter his program (for all I know). He just played the heck out a that thing. Love you, Roy.
Nice job on the camera work. I just found your video. I know how hard it is to do a concert from the seats with a hand held camera. Remarkably steady shooting. I am so jealous that I wasn't there. It must have been a thrill.
What an incredible musician and warm, affable human being. They don’t make ‘em like that anymore. R.I.P., Mr. Clark; an American treasure whose music will continue to bring happiness to many for years and years to come.
Nothing like a deaf or lazy sound man to screw up a memorable performance. Roy nor the fiddle can hardly be heard above the crowd. I have seen it time and again. Music is dynamic. You can not set up the sound and walk away. How lazy or in attentive can you be.
electric music is different. He couldn't even hear himself, over the satellite-radio jazz playing. they must have no heart to cut off a legend and play their generic BS
Roy's fiddle was not getting a good signal into the system. Not only are we having difficulty hearing him but Roy was having difficulty hearing himself. But Roy being the pro he is didn't drop a stitch. Hopefully the fiddle Tech learned that sometimes you make sure you get things right out of Honor.
A musical genius! And an all around great guy, that was a real comedian! RIP. I read somewhere that someone called Stevie Ray Vaughan the greatest guitar player of all time, Stevie said no that is Roy Clark !!!
The baseball field in the background...I wish my old man could have seen this.... the one that encouraged me to start playin....ohhhh good times....... GOOD TIMES
Wow, I sure wish this whole appearance was on a video, I would like to see him playing his guitar as well. You could just tell he did not want to leave that stage, he loved to entertain people, RIP Roy, thank you sir for all the great memories and music!!
Great video - I really enjoyed this as everyone was having fun. Nothing like music to bring people together and have a good time. Thank you for making it. Terrific musicians - so laid back and easy.
We lost a country icon when Roy Clark passed away. I hope I get to join him in heaven when my time comes and I can hear him play this again. I was just a kid watching him on Hee-Haw in the late 60's-early 70's.
Many musicians over the years take their fans for granted. Roy never did. He was asked once why he gives his all in every performance. Elvis had the same attitude with his fans.🗽👍
Roy is a class act!
beautiful

Roy Clarke was unique. What talent what a wonderful human being RIP

How in the hell can anyone hit the dislike button on the greatest guitar player that ever lived!
His skill was unbelievable! Damm so talented, and yet many people don’t know it
I have said that for years, nobody knows how good he was

Hello Allen how are you doing!!
Mr. Clark had more talent than he was given credit for having. Just freakin' awesome!
Roy Clark forgot more about music than most people ever knew .
A Great American, a maestro…. Heaven's music just got better.
Ole Roy could play them all... And be a comedian when doing so... Very intelligent man and professional country music.

The greatest one man show...he was fantastic...
I'm not being prejudiced or nothing but I still still still believe that Roy Clark and Jimmy Henley were the best when Jimmy was young I wish we had some videos when Jimmy was older and he had played again with Roy Clark

Hello Rebecca how are you doing!!
RIP Roy! We love ya.

Exactly. It might have sounded better in person that day, this is just someone's bootleg recording. Roy was great. Ties to Davidsonville, MD.
Roy Clark at 85 was still a talented musician and comic.
He wasn't 85 in the video tho. 70 something.
Nice job on the camera work. I just found your video. I know how hard it is to do a concert from the seats with a hand held camera. Remarkably steady shooting. I am so jealous that I wasn't there. It must have been a thrill.
He is legend
Is full special ,I like so much ,i love music song country
Mr Clark had more talent in his pinky, then most musicians have in both their hands today..
Who ever is managing that mixing board, needs to learn their freaking job. The other instruments were drowning out Roy.
indeed. the audio is a mess
charm of roy clark is so nice! he is the most charming guitarist ever!..

Roy and Buck Trent...what a team! Enjoyed their show several times was blessed.
What an incredible musician and warm, affable human being. They don’t make ‘em like that anymore. R.I.P., Mr. Clark; an American treasure whose music will continue to bring happiness to many for years and years to come.
Saw him in Talladega, fantastic show at the historic theater on the square. Fantastic entertainer.
There has never been another generation as great as that one when it comes to country music!
Hello Doran how are you doing!!
what a great dimensional talent
Jesus christ. You cant beat Roy Clark!!!
Nothing like a deaf or lazy sound man to screw up a memorable performance. Roy nor the fiddle can hardly be heard above the crowd.
I have seen it time and again. Music is dynamic. You can not set up the sound and walk away. How lazy or in attentive can you be.
You’re watching this through a phone, maybe that’s the reason
he would have been about 78 in this video.... I would bet half on the stage with him could not be that good at 78
Best there ever was and better than anyone else could be.
Fetch me my fiddle!! With a smile on his face. Haha I
Merry merry
One hell of a picker.i got lucky enough to see him when I was a kiid..6 flags st louis.miss clark
Hello Dean how are you doing!!
It breaks my heart to see Roy Clark slowing down, as always though a great showman. God bless you.
electric music is different. He couldn't even hear himself, over the satellite-radio jazz playing. they must have no heart to cut off a legend and play their generic BS
Those who do a "Thumbs Down" need to belong to that bumper sticker club titled "They need to be taken out of the gene pool!" Enough said.
I still love that grin and tongue coming out!
Loved his music and character. Not sure if he’s gone now...will check on that. He seemed to be the same after all these years. Saw him on HeeHaw!🥰
An American treasure.
At 78; still clever, witty, docile & quick, and most of all, still extremely talented...
Roy Clark is Truly a musician's musician.
Amazing Legend Musician wow
Another one of our great talents gone!

If it had strings Roy could play it as no one else.
a genius at what he does best. no doubt about it.
Roy Clark's fiddle was given to him by the great Roy Acuff. He said once it was his most prized possession because it was a gift from Acuff.
Roy puts the Clark in Classy.
The baseball field in the background...I wish my old man could have seen this.... the one that encouraged me to start playin....ohhhh good times....... GOOD TIMES
