BAD ASS! People are charging $700 to make a harness for a Lq4 to run off a battery and drop a fuel line in a gas can to make it run. I'm saving my money, doing this, and the $$ saved will pay for the stage 3 turbo internals.

That’s people problem nowadays nobody wants to do their homework, everybody wants someone to spoon feed them knowledge.

I completely understand where your coming from I used to be a bottle fed mechanic until you get put in a tough spot and either have to cough up big dollars or do your own research

Wow you have simplified this at another level.. I basically just need the motor mounts n torque adapter and I can get the whole motor with everything for about $600.

ok some of this IS NOT making sense.
i put battery power to the terminal he said on left hand side of fuseblock facing up. Also hooked up my factory car fuseblock wire here so both have constant power.
Where i get confused is the loop over wire to constant power supply. Im sure i tested that far right stud and there was no power there. So is B11 supplying constant power to that stud and that stud powers something else in the fuseblock? or is B11 supposed to be connected to constant power supply?
What do i do with the starter crank/trigger wire? is that one and the same as distributor power wire that goes to A9?

that was a fantastic video. im about to do an ls swap on my 1971 formula. any suggestions on where to start. do you know it I can just take everything from a donor vehicle and just sit everything down in there without changing oil pans etc?

What about the epxpress van fuse block as they have different plugs than a truck fuse block. Little to no info on this out there.
Pink wire goes to ignition on universal switch ?
As far as the alternator the stock ls one will charge fine? Do I just hook my battery cables up like a normal small block? Positive to starter? ground to block and to body?
Yessir hook everything up as u normally would and plug in the alternator to the engine harness and it will charge as normal
What did u do to make the gauges works I’m trying to ls swap my 97 Chevy and I was gonna follow ur video but as the whole gauges go that’s where I’m intimidated please help
The two red wires from the stock bulkhead where did u connect those?
Are there certain wires I'm supposed to leave long and not cut to have my ac function or do I only need to leave the ones you left in this video. Don't know if the fuse box controls or has anything to do with the ac
Will you still be able to use the (DLC) Data link connector on the cabin side of the harnes for tuning, reading trouble codes, ect?

So you don't need to change a single thing with the wire harness?
Correct the factory harness doesn't need to be messed with

So basically keeping the original engine chassis harness separate and running basic wires to power the engine harness of the ls through the ls fusebox? Wanting to swap a 5.3 in my jeep rock crawler and want a super simple wiring harness. This looks like the way to go
No need for a computer this way?
Yes u of course need the factory pcm, I explained in another video how to disable the vats using a donor truck

Is there any concern over leaving the fuse block wires that are not used hooked up to the fuse block? I just dont want to have a random hot wire hanging around like the wire that loops back thru the fuse block and has a key on power source. I might be lazy, but I would love to just leave the depinned wires in the loom in case I use a new age transmission in the future.
Did you have too have the pcm flashed
because i was going to do the simple harness but it said some pink cables had to be connected in a external spot and i dont wanna cut any cables

Very nice and to the point what Transmission or are you using Are you using the transmission that was attached to the swaped motor and does the fuse box run it also once it’s powered

Do you ever have fuel starvation problems with that inline fuel pump being HIGHER than the fuel tank?
lotsa peeps say if you run exterior inline pumps they should be LOWER than bottom of fuel tank as these types of pumps are meant to push fuel and soon as they suck air from hard cornering or acceleration they cavitate and engine will sputter or die

I did exactly what you did but can’t get my C9 to go off. But it goes off randomly when I push on the harness but I can’t figure out where or what’s connecting or grounding to make it go off randomly.
The fuse box is grounded through the engine harness... also its c1 block a9 not c9
I have seen your videos and I would like to know a little more about how to star a 5.3 5.3 2004 engine. As soon as I finish installing it, I am ready. I only need about the fuse box.

So with the way your doing it do i have this right … i keep my oem pcm connected to the transmission and controls ect and just plug and play my ls harness and tap into those wires from your relay basically ?
Yes but it won’t start unless you take the pcm to a tuner to remove the VATS, since you won’t be using the LS engines original key the PCM has the VATS to prevent Hotwiring.
@ ok cool and the pcm i have to tune is the stock obs pcm ? I won’t need a pcm from the 5.3 to sit in the engine bay

I still have the stock wiring in my truck how did you make the starter wire and car key work
I normally use the existing starter wiring and tap into a key on power source from the original ignition source.. you can use the ls starter wiring by wiring an ignition cranking source to pin a3 on the c1 block wich sends ignition cranking signal to the factory ls starter relay

I have a similar engine ls3, I did the electrics as you have in the video. We programmed the computer and turned off the "vats system". Unfortunately, the engine did not start. High voltage comes to the spark plugs, but no impulse comes to the injectors. Maybe you can advise me what could be the reason. Diagnostics shows me the error P0315. The sensor is working. Thank you very much in advance

Good video. Very helpful. I’m also using the 4l60e out of my donor truck, and I’m trying to figure out what wires I need for that. I know I need to use my C100 pin and trans harness.
Yes sir whe when using a 4l60e trans u take the c100 block Pin "c" pink wire and connect it to a 12v key on power source
It is best to use a 10 amp fuse when doing so... you can also take the pin from the c2 block pin "e2" and move it to c2 block pin "b9" and it eliminates the need for the c100 pink wire

Your help is much appreciated. I’m just going over the wire schematics for E2 and B9. It’s a good idea. B9 ignition and E2 ain’t used. So good call. Now I just gotta wire it up to my toggle switch. ( I’m doing a Off road truck build ) No need for a key
