    Watch people get up and walk around the cabin while still taxiing to the gate!!! 56:24
    In this full flight, I'm back on my favorite plane!!! I was fortunate to find this MD80 flight on my way to Key West as well as some other exciting planes to fly on! This is actually the second time I've flown on N434AA to my memory so it was great to see him still flying! This flight was amazing in every aspect. I sat in the cockpit and turned the seatbelt sign on before departure and I had a nice chat with the flight crew. The flight attendant even remembered my name and she asked if i could take a picture with her! You can hear her ask at 56:33! The crew on this flight was great. They were extremely kind to me and everyone else. This seat was also very comfortable with plenty of legroom and the tray table didn't rest on my legs like a lot of other aircraft seats do. You also get an amazing view on the JT8D and get an amazing spot to listen to them! The cabin itself looks very nice and not too outdated. It's got a very unique and appealing look and is my favorite cabin look and layout in my opinion! Plenty of color and some cool designs on the side panels.It's simple and looks great! The size of the windows on this plane as well are massive! They're at the right hight and give you a nice open view! My love for the American Super 80 is unparallel, nothing excites or gives me as much joy in the world as being on this aircraft. Ive finally gotten a job so you can expect to see more flights on these guys in the future!
    Thanks for Watching!

    Super video on the super 80! I love MD80's, they're so cool, I love everything from the design to the JT8D engines, a proper jet. I'll be very sad when they're gone, you were lucky to get one of the last flights of this one. Liked and subbed 👍

    Man, you know you're lucky when you get to fly on an LAA MD-80 twice! Another fantastic trip report! Do you have anymore plans for taking a few Super-80s this year before they retire in September?

    There’s some conflicting info. I looked up this plane’s registration and some things say it’s an md-82 and some say md-83. Was it modified at some point and what would qualify it to gain status and an md-83?

    • @SuperSpotterATL
      @SuperSpotterATL  5 лет назад

      jr132 Yes this was a former MD82. It was modded with aux fuel tanks and a moderate cockpit upgrade. The engine guages are still analog. AA never did a full MD83 cockpit upgrade. I do believe that the engines were upgraded as well to the JT8D-219 as well.

    Someone correct me if im wrong, but i noticed the right engine wasnt started after push back. I saw this same thing on my flight from newark to jamaica. Its wasnt started until alittle before takeoff. I would presume this is to preserve fuel while taxing? Or am I not seeing right?

    i like these MD 80s so much! I actually thought about disguising our 757-200 to look like a commercial AA aircraft! :) also I wanna ask what good names should I give for all of our aircraft? ;)

    • @SuperSpotterATL
      @SuperSpotterATL  6 лет назад

      Max -_- There was yes. It was probably due to stronger winds above us as well as larger storms brewing over the Texas area. Dallas got hammered with severe weather after I left on my next flight.

      Yeah flew on one couple months ago with Delta. Could hear the cracks and squeaks of the plane on takeoff. Well built and reliable plane. Love the engine sounds of the rear mounted engines.

    The video was ok, but not worth watching again....btw....what's with the fascination about videoing the engine while flying ??.....and 16 min taxing until take off ???

    • @SuperSpotterATL
      @SuperSpotterATL  6 лет назад +2

      William Kinyon Well it's not for everyone but you get to hear the engines start up and see all of the different terminals and aircraft at the airport. Plenty of people enjoy this channel's videos! I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the video too much.
