    Incredible footage of these rare D&H engines at the beginning, especially the color footage of the camelbacks from 1948!

    John's videos are top notch. The narrator, Mike Bednar , just adds the needed spice to the recipe. Great work as always.

    The D&H blue and yellow and Grey paint scheme reminds me of the warbonnet paint scheme from the Santa fe railroad

    This is a treasure John Pechulis, the DH 19 was acquired by Ferrocarriles Nacionales de México and it still exists preserved in a fully operational museum....

      I would go see it myself but unfortunately it seems that there may be some difficulties due to unfortunate events with tourists.😢

    This is so great, time travel combined with rail-fanning......all without the risk of muddy feet, winter chill or angry r.r bulls yelling at me.

    While doing D&H research, I have found that there have been 5 D&H railroad companies, 2 companies called Delaware and Hudson Company and 2 (possibly 3) companies called Delaware and Hudson Railway or Delaware and Hudson Railway Company.
    The first D&H railroad company is the original company/the canal company, the original company is also the first Delaware and Hudson Company, the original company was established in 1823 though in the New York corporation database it says 1900. The original company reportedly still exists according to the New York corporation database and is still known as Champlain National Corporation. The second D&H railroad company which is titled Delaware and Hudson Railroad Corporation was established in 1928 and is probably defunct. The second Delaware and Hudson Company was established in 1961 and was supposed to replace the original company but that didn’t happen, the second Delaware and Hudson Company is probably defunct.
    The third D&H railroad company which is the first Delaware and Hudson Railway was titled Delaware and Hudson Railway Company and was established in 1968. It was renamed The Railway Reorganization Estate, Inc. when it sold the D&H rail system to the second Delaware and Hudson Railway established by Canadian Pacific, the third D&H railroad company may still exist. The fourth D&H railroad company which is the second Delaware and Hudson Railway is titled Delaware and Hudson Railway Company, Inc. and it is the current D&H railroad company, it was established in 1990 by Canadian Pacific as the D&H Corporation and was renamed Delaware and Hudson Railway Company, Inc. when it acquired the D&H rail system. There is a possible fifth D&H railroad company/third Delaware and Hudson Railway established in 1991 but this 1991 incorporation could be part of the fourth D&H railroad company/second Delaware and Hudson Railway.
    Without the World Wide Web, we would never know anything about this. The references:

    Even their Diesels were beautiful. I wish the one surviving C628 would come home from Mexico. I think they were elegant looking machines. The PA's should never have been sold south of the border. If Guilford had gotten them, they'd be razor blades today.

    Wow awesome color videos, are there any know videos of D&H engines on the honesdale branch?

    • @JPMediaRR
      @JPMediaRR  Год назад +1

      I don't think you'll find any on that line for at least 2 reasons. First, it was a branch line which many did not photograph because it was very difficult to access overgrown secondary track and because of irregular running schedules. And lastly, the line was abandoned in the 1930s due to the great depression. Not many had film cameras back then, and those that did, usually shot subjects and events that were considered special because film and processing were quite expensive.

    I know nothing about trains but what the hell kind of engine is at 1:12 ? It's incredibly cool looking with the elongated front end. Great color scheme too.
