I have been a fan of yours for a long long time. You got me into audio, I still have a pair of Fluance SX6s because of your review. I just put in my reservation because I need a headphone that reminds me that this hobby is about having fun.
Comfort , clear midrange, deep bass and soundstage outside your head are the most important factors for me. I’m curious about them.

@@littletweeter1327 you know, I got the jt1 thinking it was a closed back or based of the spec. but it leaks sound from the cup , you can still hear something outside that earcup. Not completely closed
@@georgelin6472there is a vent hole in the top of the ear cup. Probably where the sound is coming from.
Based on what I've heard, I went to the website expecting a higher price, but they were one-fifty lower than I thought they would be, which is awesome. I'm definitely gonna pick them up.

I bought some AKG headphones through a Massdrop... oh ten years ago. Since then my wife gave birth to my daughter, and the wiring in those AKG headphones broke. Your video has reminded me how much I used to love staying up late after everyone else is asleep, just listening to music by myself. I can't wait to receive these Eris headphones in the mail, and pull an all-nighter with Mass Effect and music. Thanks for sharing your passion with us in an incredibly personal way.
So mine just came in the mail. I'm really not good at describing headphone/audiophile terminology but holy shit *these* are indeed bass cannons.
All I can tell you as of now is that the songs can be hit or miss but for the most part its really fun and enjoyable. Some songs that are already bass heavy can feel a little much. Its definitely got a sparkly kick in the high end. Not really enough to be sibilant to my sensitive ears (thank god). And bass is of course overwhelming, but as advertised.
Also the first thing I tried was plugging the 4.4 end into my Singxer SA-1 and the metal cable end was too fat to large to fully connect lol. (Thankfully I have adapters for everything). These also sound wonderful on the Geshelli Erish 3 amp. Gonna try my Liquid Platinum amp later.
Also I'm not sure if Zeos would be proud or upset at this, but one of the first things I did after listening to a few songs was to pad roll them with a spare pair of ZMF pads I had. Universe hybrid perforated pads I believe. It actually makes things wayyyy more neutral and less bass congested. (They were still pretty bass-y) Only issue is that the pads were a little too loose but sounded like a normally tuned pair of headphones with them on. But at the same time I feel like it defeats the purpose since these were meant to be BASS CANNONS. BITTERSUITE from Billie Eilish was a night and day difference between the stock pads and the ZMF pads. So you have that option if you feel like its a bit too congested / bass-y for your tastes. YMMV depending on the pads you roll with of course.
I'm 13 headphones in my collection and the Eris is easily the most bass heavy pair I have and I sort of love them for that. The comfort, the amazing cable, the fun factor and the price sort of makes it a good addition to anyone with a decent collection to have. The only thing that I have that can come close to these bass wise is the DCA Aeon Noire's. Granted the Noire bass is a little tighter but its also like $500 more.
So overall, I really like them due to the fun factor and obviously the pad-roll potential. Really awesome package for the price. Happy to have them in my collection.

Seriously though, playing that 2049 track is insane. Didn’t know headphones could do that. They definitely don’t magically add low end if the song doesn’t have it, just emphasizes it. But if they do, like that Blade Runner track…damn.
Kinda disappointed that the left and right cups aren’t Blue and Red.
Purple is the mix, and they are reversible, SO IT MAKES SENSE

@@guybrushtwood from what the website describes; the headphones are symetrical so you can take the cables and reverse them and still get the same quality of audio.
There was something about getting a wider soundstange by doing this bc reversing then slightly shifts the center of the driver where your ears normally would hear it

Just received mine. Instantly in love. Bass violence is the correct descriptor for them. It feels like it makes my brain shake. But all the other frequencies aren't buried by the low end. Just like he said. Also the most comfortable headphones i've ever worn. Zeos doesn't lie. This whole video is 100% true. Buy without fear boys.

Hey Zeos, I really hope you see this comment. I’ve been a huge fan for years, I’m wanting to support you in buying a pair of the Eris. Unfortunately, Linsoul is charging $30 for express shipping, usually this isn’t an issue if it’s a complementary option, however it’s the only shipping option. To me it feels a little “scammy” to only offer “express” 3-5 day shipping for a preorder product that won’t ship out until July, not to mention it’s stuck behind a pay wall. Being a broke college student I just can’t justify paying for shipping on a $250 product. Just wanted to voice my frustration and yes I’m located in the US.
According to my contact there? All headphones they sell have this surcharge. Other smaller items like IEMs and DAPS are sometimes shipped free because they're much smaller. Unfortunately I wasn't aware. If you want to wait until July they'll be on Amazon with most likely free shipping.
@@ZReviews I'd rather pay $300 from amazon than $250 from a Chinese online store. My browser was hitting me with red flags on that site and I ducked out. Retro Game Corps reviews a bunch of $50-$200 handhelds built around emulation that are sold in a similar way, but I don't trust those sites and the best of them make it to Amazon eventually. It's not like a Steam Deck can fit in your pocket, yet that ended up covering enough bases as someone that hadn't bought a handheld since GBC in 1998 for Pokemon R/B/Y.
This begs the question: What is the Steam Deck of headphones? A real function over fashion disruptive loss leader that's built around user friendly modding and tweaking from a ravenous community of crafty nerds.

I really enjoy hearing how happy and enthused you are about them and how much work and attention to detail you put into them. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but then again, what is?

If literally nothing else nobody can complain about the comfort. Unless your head is super weird or super small where they may not adjust high enough. I found I had to pop off the headband and put a spacer underneath it for my girl. But we will cross that bridge when we come to it.

I'm fairly new to the audio stuff, don't have amp or a dac or any of that stuff, is there a decent/affordable small amp/dac(idk exactly what I'd need or even if I'm talking about the right items) that I could get to my desk that's small that would pair well with these headphones or would those not be necessary for someone who isn't an audiophile? I don't see myself getting super into the audiophile game but would like to casually dabble into the basics of it. I'd be upgraging from senheiser hd 558s
The only special piece you will need is likely a 4.4mm to 3.5mm adapter. If your amp doesn't do balanced out. They are offering it on the product page for Eris for $13. Then you can use a 1/4 adapter if need be and run from any standard amplifier on the existing cable.
hey zeos, i have messaged you on instagram about this already but im not sure if you check those. but what you've said about these sound like they might be exactly what im looking for! perfect timing as well because i was probably about to buy something else within the next week, but now i may hold off for these instead. personally i listen to mostly metal music and like a bassy sound signature to emphasise the low guitars in that. my current favourite headphones i've tried are the meze 99's (specifically with the ifi truebass/xbass turned on to add even more punch), so i'm wondering how you would describe a comparison between the meze's and this harmonicdyne collab? because i know you've tried the meze's before as well. thank you :)
If you are running a bass boost in any headphone I can see this working out for you.
This is much betetr looking than DMS' headphone. If he gives the Eris a negative review, i am definitely buying them, because the opposite of his opinions are usually spot on.

Hi zeos I liked the hd800s way more than empyrean OG, The 800s sound less fatiguing to me because it sound big an far unlike empyrean it has nice stage but the vocals are closer and annoying they also sound so muddy and the treble is too dark
do your headphone sound more like hd800s or empyrean OG because you got me hooked when you say bass+stage
also one last question is the treble too dark like the empyrean?
I use HDV820 Amp & R2R Ares 2 Dac
Those are some big boys to compare to. I would hope its more similar to Empyrean for staging? I never found 800s wide which isn't a common trait.
If the nighthawk comparison is valid this'll be a welcome addition to the space. Certain people, myself included, have been waiting for a successor for a while.

They sound intriguing. How do these compare to Athena? I'm kind of treble sensitive. My current favorite headphone is the Edition XX. It's just perfect for me.
I've had one or two days where treble were a concern but the break-in pushed it away, or run it backwards and it will dip the Treble significantly. #dualtuning

This launch was bad timing, you just convinced me to by The Nines speakers 2 months ago and I planned on not buying more audio stuff for a while haha So far you have only steered me wrong once (Vokyl Erupts) but I still always get your input before buying audio stuff. I have the athenas and they're my favorite headphones I've owned in a long time. Are the Eris enough of an upgrade to warrant a purchase or are they similar to an Athena?
They sound almost nothing like Athena as far as tuning and texture, but if it's the shape feel build and semi-open presentation you liked. I would say it is an upgrade. But again I am biased.
Just ordered a pair and a 4.4 to XLR adapter. Hopefully, they'll sound good through the Modius/Midgard stack, which is my fave combo. I wear my HD6xx's for hours a day.

You can try the softears studio 4 as that was a very neutral narrow sounding IEM, as for headphones it sounds like you're describing certain Beyerdynamic, 990 pro? I kind of want to tell you to get the Neumann NDH30 because I actually love that headphone it isn't that wide.
@@ZReviewsTy for the recs. I actually used to have the 990 pros and loved them but they broke and I replaced them with the TYGR 300r (which I don’t like). Happy to say your Eris will be replacing the TYGRs. Very exited for them to arrive and to try something completely new 🙂
I'm using the Athena. Will it make any difference in bass to cover the top vent holes or is the difference only noticeable combined with the new modified drivers?
The best part is it costs you almost nothing to just get some blue tack and close the holes from the outside. I haven't tried playing around with the original Athena but I did have a little go with the black hole and it improved it slightly

Go back and watch your Athena review -- you actually had really nice things to say about it. So much so that I was tempted to buy them, but I'm glad I waited for your Eris. The wood and steel Harmonicdyne Helios, which you gushed over way back in the day, is still one of my favorite headphones (after pad swapping). The build quality on these looks better and the headband design is definitely refined over the first iteration (though mine are holding up ok). I don't have any super bass-heavy cans (only your Rinkos) so I'll keep an eye on these after they've released and I have money again. I just picked up the Sivga Luans (based on your review and those of others) and am in love with them so far.
I liked them. Didn't LOVE them. I think all the best parts stayed, got improved and now the its the ultimate semi-open out there.

Are there super short cables just for the BT dongle? All that extra cable seems redundant if you're aiming to going wireless.
There was actually one sold by Didi Hi-Fi a while ago that was for IEMs. I think MMCX to a 2.5 mm that ended at the split, I don't know of one specifically for dual entry 3.5 but it would be cool

They need to setup the headband separately. Because I didn't want to force it onto people who only want pads.
So is the deep purple Glass-Back different color from yours vs in Linsoul? Lindoul link looks darker not sure if it was lighting or charged a bit in production thanks

Btw…they did measure it and its frequency response is 10Hz-70kHz with a sensitivity of 118dB/rms. THD
I'll have them present a measurement and then I'm going to ask resolve to measure a set. Maybe even DMS. I want to get all the graphs no matter how disgusting they look

@@ZReviews Lol it should be VERY entertaining to see how these graph. I don't put stock in measurements either, but don't discount that they can be helpful to folks for getting a super rough idea of what something sounds like. In my experience, listening first is always the way to go.
How well do these isolate compared to fully closed backs? I use closed backs at my desk setup because i need the isolation. These look so cozy....
There's about a 5 DB reduction in Ambien noise. You could still have a conversation through them as long as nothing is playing. If something is playing you're less likely to hear anything outside but people will still hear more of what you're playing than a close back. But not as much as an open back obviously.
@@ZReviewsyou’ve done good by covering the extra ports. I’ve found The Athena sounds louder to the outside world than a standard open back pair of cans.

I'm in between the Eris and the HD620S and I am a fan of yours but Harmonicdyne's history kinda makes me nervous spending my money since I tend to want to keep my stuff for as long as possible.
Might be too far into the future to tell. But I assume if the headphone is ever discontinued. An announcement for final pad sales will go out. Unless these sell forever.

Either of the Hellblade games would make for a good gaming audio demo. They recorded all the dialog in the character's head with a binaural microphone so the imaging and sound stage of the headphones will be highly emphasized

I have the HarmonicDyne Athena, I know the driver is very capable, the problem I have is they leak too much sound and also sound very boxy, the sound demo of the Eris sounds fantastic even via my kak PC speakers, I can see myself buying these.
That boxy sound I fixed by closing the ports. I haven't tried to do it to the old Athena but feel free to grab some blue tack and just shove it on all those holes, particularly the top one.
Okay, cool headphones, will buy... but I'm super curious to know what you think of that mini Mass Kobo... Is it worth it?

What’s the pad opening size on these? I got large ears, so that rules out way too many headphones for me.

If they do weird things with sound, are comfortable, cost 250 bucks and are purple, then yeah. Sucks there's no Bane-style Dyson mouthpiece though. I feel like that's a missed opportunity.

I'd say Battlefield 5 has to be one of the best sounding cinematic action experiences, if you're looking for stuff like big explosions and gun sounds. It's explicitly great when the action starts to ramp up.

Very intrigued by the "violent bass" promise, but I have to ask: How TIGHT is that bass? Because a lot of bass is one thing, but fast, tight, bass, is the real hard thing to obtain in my experience. IEMs can do it but a lot of dynamic headphones struggle.
Because of the semi closed-back it actually acts kind of like an x order subwoofer enclosure. At least to my ears. It doesn't infect the rest of the sound with low end. So it's fast and punchy when it needs to be.
@@ZReviews Alright my dude, you started me on my audio journey, so I ordered a set. Pretty done with headphones, haven't bought a set in years, more interested in building my speaker setup now, but these sound too interesting to pass on. Hope I love them.
Now, if I'm looking to get something that is fun to listen and game with, like the Zeus, would these be a good alternative? Also, how well can you heard people around you when nothing is playing? Being a dad, I have to be able to hear kiddos when needed.
If you are listening at normal levels you will hear someone in a room calling your name. I put them above zeus for width and bass. Zeus Elite might have better treble clarity? But that is the sacrifice.

I did and initial testing is APPROVED.. I need to use them for a day and go back to stock to see what the major changes are but comfort , obvious, sound is more open. Might reduce that ONLY BASS that the headphone show are complaining about.
