Just got mine today and wooooooooow! These headphones sound incredible! I would describe the sound as the treble, airiness, and sound stage of a traditional open-back headphone but with the bass of a well tuned closed-back. Build quality is really nice, super comfy, and only $70?? This for sure going to go up in price at least to $100+ at some point, even then it's super worth it.
Just got a pair of these, they feel and sound like a better Superlux with Brainwavz pads. Very happy for the price, didn't need to bend them to sit properly, kinda wish the cable was 30% longer.
I still prefer the SHP9500. That said I think most people will prefer these. I just love the comfort of the SHP9500s so much and generally prefer open back headphones. That all said these are easily worth 70 dollars and I'll be keeping them. Since they're (mostly) closed they might make decent long flight headphones that I wouldn't be upset if went missing.
Picked those up because I've been using wired Logitech G Pro X for the past year or so and I hate them. Recommended by a friend and they seem amazing especially for the price, I don't see why I'd go for a 150-200 pair when these look well built too. With a nice iFi DAC I hope it'll serve me for a few years at least.
I thought you were exaggerating, but now I am amazed how comfortable they are and how good they sound. I think these may have even replaced the AKG K371 as my go-to closed-back headphones when I need to listen in public/office. These certainly don't compare to the pricier hifiman open-back planar headphones I listen to at home, but as closed-back and at this price Fiio / JadeAudio just killed the competitions!
My SHP9500s are my daily use headphones, love them to death, sad they're no longer in production, so I'm very glad to see a worthy successor for those on a budget!
replace them, I regretted buying the shp9500's, gave them away, too much treble, no low end compared to other headphones, soundstage was horrible,.you can do so much better, thank god they're no longer in production.
The Sheeps had no bass to me because it didn't got a seal at all around my ears, so i replaced the pads to the misodiko mesh and they're almost too bassy for me now. I love them for daily use as well
@@privateuser7726 I found some replacement velour pads that came with 3D printed adaptors preinstalled on AliExpress so they clip on like stock pads. They cost me like 20$ CAD and fixed a lot of the lack of bass and the agressive treble. They are by no means a bass monster but it upped the bass a good amount compared to stock pads and reduced the treble harshness. They are also more comfortable to wear. I use them for work with a VModa boomstick mic and I have no problem wearing them for 6+ hours a day. They may not be your cup of tea, but they are certainly not what I would consider bad for the price.
better than 58x Jubliee? or HE400i? Are they efficient? I need a pair of closed backs for DJ headphone. Currently using Sennheiser HD25. Need new pads, or should I just buy this?
This headphone would pair very well with the sound blaster x5 (this is something you should take a look at) dac/headphone gaming amp with mic in put and a heap of app options for gaming ,recording/streaming and music/movie watching . Also includes 4.4 balanced connector a real good all-round amp/dac
Been using these for a week now. Coming from the DT990 Pro for 2 years, and HD58X jubilee for 3 years for music/gaming and although very different from the 58X these are a solid set of cans for both!
I got them, mostly to see if they would become my new recommendation to people and... why the fuck did they not make the cups swivel. WHYYYYYY. I just want a pair of headphones that have zero caveats to tell people to buy. These are so close, let down by that alone. After I bent them like you showed, they're INSANELY comfortable. Super light without creaking or feeling cheap, or that obnoxious TWANG if you touch the headband like the meze 99's But mine were initially sibilant as FUUUUUCK. I thought it was my BTR7 just being on high gain, dropped it to low, not really any better. I was wondering if maybe I got a bum pair until I had a thought and remembered that I keep dolby atmos on my phone for my 1more evo's (which REALLY play nice with it) and turned that off. Like a switch, harshness gone. They're very clear and clean, almost to a fault, and a hair bass-light, but they're basically semi-open-back and isolate nearly as well as some of my closed backs. The cable is surprisingly nice. The pads are buttery soft and smooth - unlike the thieaudio ghosts, which I adore, but are a little hard to drive and the included pads were flat out unacceptable and required a brainwavz swap to fit a human head properly and get that meze-like sound. The pads are super easily swappable on these too, the pads mount to a little frame that just untwist-clicks free and can be easily replaced with any quite large pad (brainwavz XL's are a hair too tight) Man though, that price forgives it all. "buy 'em and bend them like this before you use them and don't forget to turn off dolby atmos if you have it on your phone" is a very reasonable trade for $70 with a usable included microphone and nice length cable for home use. I still definitely prefer the thieaudio ghosts with better pads, but they're a lot harder to drive and even with good pads, a lot less comfortable.
Funny, that was my exact problem with the Ghosts, they don't f'n swivel and end up hurting. I was honestly thinking of using them over my HD600 for some things untill they started hurting.
@TheLeftistOwl they are very much not bassy. They're hardly any more bass-forward than my grado sr125e's. Its not bad at all, but a fairly lean/neutral tuning. If you want to try properly warm/bassy, the thieaudio ghosts are much meatier down low. And theyre practically anemic against meze 99's or even some koss kph40i's. Its mot a knock against them. I LOVE these new fiio cans apart from the lack of swivel making them an obnoxiously hard to recommend set for newbies who just want sonething that works. They sound amazing. Just not bassy. Again, just
They're finally back in sale around here. Ordered a pair, should be around in a day or two. They upped the price but not by too much. Those who bought the first series hit the jackpot.
@@unearthlygoose They've been great. I've been using them for a while now, making them my daily runners after HyperX Cloud and they beat them in every single way. Much sturdier built, better quality materials and they sound amazing; definitely richer and more balanced. Plus, the detachable cables and really good (albeit a bit oversensitive) microphone are cherry on the top. No issues so far. My only concern is that the headstrap's eco-leather feels rather delicate and might not stand the test of time - most of that usually detoriates completely after 3-4 years... but we'll see. The bag might be silly but it's great to store headphones after daily use to prevent them from gathering dust and minimize exposure. In overall, I expect these to be much longer lasting if taken care of.
@@ZReviews oh they were gone-zo just a few hours later, lol. Also I got mine! And DAMN they are FUN!!! What a world where we can get headphones like these for cheap.
I've been daily driving the SHP9500 for 4 years now since I watched your video recommending it. Nothing beats it. Sound, soundstage, and COMFORT. I will buy this Fiio. I trust you.
I previously bought the Takstar Pro 82 as, on a budget, everyone recommending them in the price range. They're still perfect condition. Seen these Fiio headphones, bundled with a 4.4mm balanced cable, for 399rmb in China ($55usd) Would you say that the Fiio JT1 is better than the Pro 82, enough to buy them and gift my Takstar headphones to someone who will appreciate them and send them on their journey?
Interesting. I have 2 extra SHP9500s in my closet in case I need a quick gift for a fellow nerd. If I run out good to know there is a good replacement for the SHiPs
For 75 bucks, my shp9500s STILL give me a chubby for music or games with a v moda 2 years later lol. Best advice of yours that I've ever taken. Getting these too.
Only have had these for a few days and I really am liking them. Break in not close. That being said I can already tell that your review was spot on. Definitely like being in the first few rows of a show. Nice addition to have for little money. That bass i had to dial back a few db for my liking, but after that it is really nice! Little creaky here and there occasionally but not nearly as much as the SHP500. I was expecting it to be narrower in soundstage but am pleasantly surprised and think it seems just right for me. Some headphones like the Fidelio X3 I feel are a bit to wide and I seem to lose that centre sweet spot often. Not with these.
just ordered these, thanks for your beautiful input zeos (and waifu bg's n mousemat) long time HD6XX user what do you think of these compared to the HD600/650/6XX family? i got annoyed at how difficult it was to find quality cables for the senheisers and they had some age. really excited for these headphones and i would love to hear your opinion on this comparison! :D
Small chock coming to one of your videos for the first time. 😂 Great video though. Have sadly been taken by the wireless headphones (just a guess but that is most likely considered a sin on this channel?), otherwise I'd be all over this haha.
Nothing wrong with wireless headphones. They have their place and time. And vary in quality pretty wildly. What I do is I put on high end Bluetooth adapters to make any dual entry 3.5mm headphone a wireless headphone.
In my opinion the 9500 are somewhat non dimensional sounding. However the filo jt's are fkn amazing especially for their pricepoint. loving that tight punchy base. Listen to Z! Now as we patiently await for Zeos revision of the HarmonicDyne series. Sorry for going off topic. Now for Zreview of my fav of 2024.. the Aune-500o headphones. These are Beautifully designed lower mid priced and are Ulta light. Plus sound signature to die for.. Pure eargasm!
Finally got mine. I got an Amazon alert that they were available so I bought them on the spot. I thought about grabbing a pair for a friend and I went back about 20 minutes later and they were sold out already. Took about a week to get here straight from China. First impression holy s***. They're a little more bass heavier than I'm used to but everything they say about him is true. Clear spacious and for the price nothing beats them. They feel flimsy as hell and super cheap but you got to cut costs somewhere. I was a little nervous how bass heavy they are and it is kind of fun playing with the ports on top. However I tossed them in a drawer and let him play pink noise overnight and I don't know why but that really tamed the bass. They actually sound pretty well balanced now. Needless to say I'm pretty happy and pretty impressed and I've already thrown away the box which means they aren't getting sold. I kept wondering why Z always had these on when he starts in it review and now I get it. I can't take them off. They're just straight up a fun can to listen to. I tossed the cheap $15 Amazon balanced cable on here and it opens them up a little more.
I agree, these are F*cking awesome for the price. Absolutely cannot go wrong. These are my third set of Headphones, i have Hifiman Ananda, Dan Clark Aeon Closed back, and finally there. These Fiio hold their own and give everything else a decent run for their money.
You're right about the mjissing of cheaper, more affordable Head phone at this price range. Go higher money, yes there;re plenty but needs some AMP, this price range people usually go for in ear or earbuds,. Thank for the great suggestion.
Diminishing returns is something I quickly realized when getting into expensive headphones. Long story short hd 650/6xx is all I will ever need. Planars are great but until a comfortable, light weight, and dark sound signature ala 6xx comes along I'm not interested.
yeah theyre still unavailable. thanks Zeos follow up: 05/11/2024 Just got them today. No burn in yet but wow. right out of the box these are going to be my go-to set for a while i can tell you that. great value! great sound!
I wonder if anyone has any direct DAP experience they'd like to share vis-a-vis Hiby vs Fiio. The reason I'm asking is, Z was just doing cartwheels over the O.G. Fiio M11, all those moons ago, and I can now get a gently used M11 for exactly the same money as a brand new Hiby R3 Gen ii, which Z loved so much that he went out of his way to remind us that he never yard-sells his Hiby DAPs. From a functionality standpoint the Hiby seems like a better fit for me: I'm an old man with little to no interest in doing anything wacky; basically just looking for a music player that I can set on shuffle and forget about. But the M11 seems so much nicer, at least in terms of aesthetic. (The Hiby actually kinda-sorta pisses me off, in that regard, and I'm not sure why. Just seems like the ratio of height to width was consciously engineered to look ugly.) Requirements for the winning DAP are as follows: 1. Metal chassis 2. Separate line out and headphone out 2a. Line Out must be capable of outputting digital signals so I can use an external DAC 3. Must accept micro SD up to at least 256GB 4. Must be relatively future-proof with regard to these specific functions. No new capabilities are necessary but build quality and thoughtful ergonomics are a must. 5. Must have a volume wheel, not buttons Anyone?
@@in-earfetish lol just because I use that OG Ananda version the most all around for everything, just works for me that one. Wanted to know some differences just as was planning to pick up these when in stock again as they sell out quick. Well I also wanted your recommendation on some good IEMs to use all around, especially for fps gaming.
I just received mine and even though they are great for the price, they are too bass heavy for my liking. What are other comfortable and good sounding budget closed back headphones?
I bought a K9 Pro ESS a while back and loved it. I figured I'd give their headphones a go. I have the SHP9500S and the SHP9600S and these m*rder both of them on easy/mid difficulty. The fact that they're $70 (I've seen them for under $50 on eBay) is CRAZY. I got the FT5s as well. I don't really care for those, but theeeese. These are wild for the price.
so when I started watching this video (an hour after it hit RUclips) these were available on amazon. 15 minutes later when I got off the phone and went to buy them....amazon is out of stock. sad
Why did Zeo say it is an Open-Back? The company FiiO themselves said on their product description that it is a Closed-Back! Did Zeo not care to read the specs of the Headphone? Every other review outlet is writing it as Closed-Back as well. It has very little sound bleed. The ear cup enclosure with the pattern is just a dotty design with a layer of film inside, and not an actual Open-Back grille.
I have the SHP and i SHIP them, I found out about it from you. I dont even enjoy wearing headphones on my head, so I dont like paying for them. I just need it to be high audio quality for my rare uses, Ill keep an eye on these, if you're right.

That all said these are easily worth 70 dollars and I'll be keeping them. Since they're (mostly) closed they might make decent long flight headphones that I wouldn't be upset if went missing.
Bought a set to try, bought 2 more... Just for me. By the way I still have shp9500's as well. 😁
How is the jt1 compared to Fidelio X2hr? More specifically how is the soundstage on both?
I thought you were exaggerating, but now I am amazed how comfortable they are and how good they sound.
I think these may have even replaced the AKG K371 as my go-to closed-back headphones when I need to listen in public/office.
These certainly don't compare to the pricier hifiman open-back planar headphones I listen to at home, but as closed-back and at this price Fiio / JadeAudio just killed the competitions!
These songs great just out of the box but after the burn in. The bass response was better and the transition got butter smooth. Really a great buy
bro goes from a fuck you fiio to a thank you fiio in less than 10 minutes i love it
My SHP9500s are my daily use headphones, love them to death, sad they're no longer in production, so I'm very glad to see a worthy successor for those on a budget!
replace them, I regretted buying the shp9500's, gave them away, too much treble, no low end compared to other headphones, soundstage was horrible,.you can do so much better, thank god they're no longer in production.
Duality of man
The Sheeps had no bass to me because it didn't got a seal at all around my ears, so i replaced the pads to the misodiko mesh and they're almost too bassy for me now.
@SilverJoystix I have a Modhouse Audio modded closed back pair w Alpha pads that look goofy but sound great .
I already bought 2 other headphones this week... Damn you! ROFL!!
Which ones?
I feel like this could be the title of every Zeos review 🤣
I can try that out.
better than 58x Jubliee? or HE400i? Are they efficient? I need a pair of closed backs for DJ headphone. Currently using Sennheiser HD25. Need new pads, or should I just buy this?
All of those are better. EQ the HD25 and they're really nice.
This headphone would pair very well with the sound blaster x5 (this is something you should take a look at) dac/headphone gaming amp with mic in put and a heap of app options for gaming ,recording/streaming and music/movie watching . Also includes 4.4 balanced connector a real good all-round amp/dac
Is there a story behind the Sailor Moon mouse
pad?
Series/episodes?
Been using these for a week now. Coming from the DT990 Pro for 2 years, and HD58X jubilee for 3 years for music/gaming and although very different from the 58X these are a solid set of cans for both!
Would you say you prefer these over those? Mainly gaming
Anddddd.. they are gone on Amazon. Well played.
FFFFF
I just ordered the FiiO FT1 which is suppose to be the next budget KING.
Is the Fiio JT1 a noticeable step up in listening experience compared to the Koss Kph30i with large Grado pads? TIA!
Listening to this video again on my JT1 after doing some sound testing and out of the box they sound shockingly good for $70
I got them, mostly to see if they would become my new recommendation to people and... why the fuck did they not make the cups swivel. WHYYYYYY. I just want a pair of headphones that have zero caveats to tell people to buy. These are so close, let down by that alone. After I bent them like you showed, they're INSANELY comfortable. Super light without creaking or feeling cheap, or that obnoxious TWANG if you touch the headband like the meze 99's
But mine were initially sibilant as FUUUUUCK.
The pads are super easily swappable on these too, the pads mount to a little frame that just untwist-clicks free and can be easily replaced with any quite large pad (brainwavz XL's are a hair too tight)
Man though, that price forgives it all.
BEND IT UNTIL IT WORKS
Bass light??? These things are very bassy. Must be a difference in how we perceive sound but damn
What pads may I ask?
Those who bought the first series hit the jackpot.
how do you feel about them?
@@HiddenRefuge thank you so much for sharing your experience!!
@@unearthlygoose If you're planning to get them, I'd say go for it. For this kind of price, they're definitely worth it.
Im a simple man, I hear Zeos tell me to buy a pair of headphones, I buy the headphones.
Oh God Sailor Moon deskpad and Rem (?) in a bathing suite background. God that's a lifestyle choice that ends on a watchlist.
I'm quite surprised on how big the sound stage is. I think if the sound stage was any bigger it would take away from the fun sound experience.
Found em for 59 friggin € here in Europe. Just ordered.
What site?
Bought em. Looking forward. Not sold out yet on German Amazon!
Lucky Germans for once
@@ZReviews oh they were gone-zo just a few hours later, lol. Also I got mine! And DAMN they are FUN!!! What a world where we can get headphones like these for cheap.
I've been daily driving the SHP9500 for 4 years now since I watched your video recommending it. Nothing beats it. Sound, soundstage, and COMFORT.
I will buy this Fiio. I trust you.
soundstage? SHP9500 has none.
@@gigihanmandarin You don't even understand what soundstage really is. 🤣
I bought my SHP9500s 5 months ago, I'd be angry but they are more than good enough, they were not money wasted. But now I'm lusting after these.
I previously bought the Takstar Pro 82 as, on a budget, everyone recommending them in the price range. They're still perfect condition.
Seen these Fiio headphones, bundled with a 4.4mm balanced cable, for 399rmb in China ($55usd)
Would you say that the Fiio JT1 is better than the Pro 82, enough to buy them and gift my Takstar headphones to someone who will appreciate them and send them on their journey?
Interesting. I have 2 extra SHP9500s in my closet in case I need a quick gift for a fellow nerd. If I run out good to know there is a good replacement for the SHiPs
fiio has been shaking up the game since they started out, really. so i'm not the slightest bit surprised.
For 75 bucks, my shp9500s STILL give me a chubby for music or games with a v moda 2 years later lol. Best advice of yours that I've ever taken. Getting these too.
Forgot the Mousepad Link.. amzn.to/3jbUrRT
AH SHEET This gone too now. I keep doing this.
Ordered these blind on release... never been happier with my intrusive decisions.
Very ZEOS!! Old school. Love it.
just ordered these, thanks for your beautiful input zeos (and waifu bg's n mousemat) long time HD6XX user what do you think of these compared to the HD600/650/6XX family? i got annoyed at how difficult it was to find quality cables for the senheisers and they had some age. really excited for these headphones and i would love to hear your opinion on this comparison! :D
I'd like to know this too. Current ly using hd6xx and looking for change. On a budget.
that vertical monitor looks cool, dont know what id need it for but i kinda want it
Great for lists
Great for T*ts
Now i have to decide between these or shp9600
Small chock coming to one of your videos for the first time. 😂
Great video though.
Could you do a detailed video comparing OneOdio Pro 50 vs FiiO JT1 ? I feel both are cut-throat competition, but which is better ?
Still got my Phillips due to Z, got them right next to me. Love you mate, thanks!
These Fiio hold their own and give everything else a decent run for their money.
is there a specific cable that you suggest to upgrade this one?
You're right about the mjissing of cheaper, more affordable Head phone at this price range. Go higher money, yes there;re plenty but needs some AMP, this price range people usually go for in ear or earbuds,. Thank for the great suggestion.
How are these for gaming? i currently use the Jubilee 58X HD for gaming and as my daily driver.
Amazon has this back in stock with estimated delivery of April 20 - May 1.
They are bouncing in and out
Diminishing returns is something I quickly realized when getting into expensive headphones. Long story short hd 650/6xx is all I will ever need. Planars are great but until a comfortable, light weight, and dark sound signature ala 6xx comes along I'm not interested.
Few minutes in I'm already sold and that's just by your expression lmao.
i wished they could be bought...
@@legrandarkan my cousin bought it as soon as he see this video, tomorrow I'm gonna test the sound before buying it 😂
yeah theyre still unavailable. thanks Zeos follow up: 05/11/2024 Just got them today.
Just seems like the ratio of height to width was consciously engineered to look ugly.)
Requirements for the winning DAP are as follows:
1. Metal chassis
2. Separate line out and headphone out
2a. Line Out must be capable of outputting digital signals so I can use an external DAC
3. Must accept micro SD up to at least 256GB
4. Must be relatively future-proof with regard to these specific functions. No new capabilities are necessary but build quality and thoughtful ergonomics are a must.
5. Must have a volume wheel, not buttons
Anyone?
This or akg k361. For rock metal 90% plz respond xd
I was eyeballing the Emotiva GR1, but it seems they are gone forever (and $200). How do these stack up to the Emotiva's?
Way more pleasurable. GR1 was a solid unit. Bit more treble focused.
Commentors. I already own K7XX's as my current go to. I also got Razer Barracuda X's as a gift. Should I pick these up? I don't have a DAC/AMP
Sony MDR7506 is often less than $90 and I find that the comfort and sound quality is worth the $20 upgrade from the Phillips....
"You have a smooth bag. And then it's annoyingly rough and cheap on the inside." I didn't know my Urologist did reviews.
hey Zeos, can you share thoughts on how is it compared to Ananda 2021 version?
Wait compare this to the Ananda? That is.. odd
So do they still sound good with the stock cables? Not good value if you only rate them with a $300 cable which most cannot afford
Are they objectively better than the AKG K361? I need a new pair of of closed-backs and I can't make up my mind! 😭Please, help ASAP! 😁
I still like the tuning of my AKG K371 better (slightly), but these are MUCH more comfortable to wear.
@@J31495 Thanks!
Do you think these can be used to produce music?
These, MoonDrop Jokers or Sivga SV021 though?
this ones or second hand 50$ fidelios x2, i can't decide, i mainly want it for movies, some music, and rarely gaming
so when I started watching this video (an hour after it hit RUclips) these were available on amazon. 15 minutes later when I got off the phone and went to buy them....amazon is out of stock. sad
I will make sure to let everyone know on twitter when they are back in stock. twitter.com/Zeospantera
How would you say these do against the HD560S? These things are intriguing
I just bought it right way. In Zeos we trust. The SHP 9500 is legendary.
I have the SHP and i SHIP them, I found out about it from you.
I dont even enjoy wearing headphones on my head, so I dont like paying for them.
I just need it to be high audio quality for my rare uses, Ill keep an eye on these, if you're right.
