Thank you. Recalled many memories for me. One bit of history that might have earned a mention was the role of the Canoe Lake in WW2. It was there that officers from the mine and torpedo school at HMS Vernon tested the mechanism of a captured German magnetic mine. A weapon that had been playing havoc in British coastal waters. Their courageous work contributed greatly to the survival of the country in the early part of the war.
I grew up in Southsea - Stone Street. Went to school at St Jude’s ( then in Marmion Rd) . Thanks for the memories

Cracking Video southsea is my fave place in Portsmouth. Im just off Elm Grove. Never knew that the area got bombed so much.
I wish my parents could have seen this. Only bit I mind are the seaforts.
