Ali Abdaal has been teaching RUclips for 7 years but yeah he did his in COVID. Times changed and a physical space would be great. This was a serious podcast. Nice job guys!
Part of the reason I started my newsletter (thanks for the Idea MFM) was because I hated myself for missing the opportunity earlier... I had to prove that I could do it even though I was late to the party.
Rage. You didn't even have to hint at the emotion. Just dropped you pants and let it all out. Love the idea of betting on people with a vendetta. This was a fun episode!
Loved this pod! Seriously thank you for putting it out there about the RAGE Success - The Last Dance, MJ talks a lot about how he would hype himself up. I am glad someone more non celebs talking about it and normalizing it! Sam, I am a Austin based entrepreneur, would love to grab a chai with you sometime. Hope you respond :)
Wow, nothing sleepy about that International School Business. They just grew a business organically. So the revenue just started small. Then instantly in the video, we're talking about buying up international schools? It was just a pure result of the compound effect!
I think hatred and revenge wishes are bad guides. But they can be great signals to some deep truths within oneself. You can then either learn with your hands or in your head, so you either think and feel your way through those past memories and hardships into a place of calm or you fight with your hands for years until you finally get to that point. Both is best
Sam, bro, feel you on the brother thing. Learn how to get out of the full nelson (bjj/wrestling) and repost that memory coming out of it using your new found knowledge
I interned for CNN in the 90s. Honestly, an amazing company and experience. Met Ted Turner twice. Had an extended conversation/debate with him once. Observed him otherwise. From the c suite, to the producers, to the security guards that greeted us when we entered the building, Ted was the only person at the company I didn’t respect. He railed about his ex-wife in group meetings, he made inappropriate remarks in front of interns referencing Monica Lewinsky material, he made jokes about luring toddlers into wells with candy (aka Baby Jessica). One of the least impressive businessmen I’ve met. But if you like people who are bitter and jealous…well, if the shoe fits.
Shaan, Regarding your IDEA: - think back door listing on a stock exchange - move the analogy to the university space - purchase an existing university (yes, there are universities for sale) - repackage the university offering, so as to match your vision, and rename it (or not… think Berkshire Hathaway) It’s do-able. I couldn't agree more. it's unfortunate that the majority of great things are fueled by spite, revenge, and trauma. But it's the greatest fight against complacency. So call it extremist if you want, but would you prefer the adverse?
It is literally impossible to start from nothing and build a billion dollar portfolio in real estate without investors. Impossible. Not saying you can't be a billionaire from real estate, there are literally hundreds if not thousands
Bah. There's an English guy (millionaire) on youtube who did exactly that, just to prove it. All he had was a smart phone and beat up old car to drive around London. He negotiated multiple subletting agreements with no money down. Biggest take away from the video was honesty and transparency are the keys to successful negotiation. After a few days work, he was making coin. It wasn't easy, and he wasn't making much, but he proved his point. Anyone can start making money in real estate at any time with no money, if you're willing to put in work. I hate people who use the word impossible inappropriately.
Bill Ackman's criticism of Harvard demonstrates he does not understand the differences between critical thinking, pragmatism, and utilitarianism. He thinks the sole value of a university is its ability to train workers for his businesses. The value of Harvard's brand stems more from the impact of its faculty and alumni on American culture than strictly the amount of money its MBA students earn on graduation.
You guys are so positive, and great…but also seemingly very transparent and truthful….a rare mix
That's why I just click play when a new vid is released, it's a Pavlov response at this point
Strong episode chaps. Sam - that cream Aran knit sweater. It's a keeper. Shaan really needs to up his knitwear game.
The Aran jumper lol ❤

"Choose Your Enemies Wisely" Patrick Bet-David wrote a book that explores this rage as fuel.
was not expecting a brief tutorial on what gallows are LOL

Yeah I learned to control them.
Hate is the foundation of civilization. Think about it. Literally everything boils down to you hating something enough that you do it your way.
The elites know this, and they have taught you the reverse.
Thank you for bringing this up.
I definitely have something to prove and that drives me.
Very interesting episode ❤
only here for sam’s laugh
You should team up Chirs Do ( the future), why I he has talk adout this type school of creative

Thats an apt description of me. Fierce nerd 😂

Hate and negativity is an excellent motivator, despite what anyone says.
I’m surprised Michael Bloomberg wasn’t mentioned in the episode
On so many levels. It's insane how his name isn't mentioned much these days.
1:01:54 lol, roasting sam is hilarious
Hurray, I win the first game!
Now off to make some money, see ya nerds.
Was just going to say "winner winner chicken dinner" and realised that this could be one of the reason the game pubg spread so far!

He was referring to the negative social impact of Harvard faculty on society, so...
“Choose your enemies wisely” book by Patrick bet David … is all about this finding that fire within you.. to drive you.
