Actually Republic of Ireland doesn't participate in CWG. Also Golf players like Rory McIlroy to represent their Northern Irish flag. But in most of the sports, Ireland fields a composite team.
Republic of Ireland doesn't compete in the CWG because its not in the commonwealth.When Ireland became a republic ,republics were not allowed to join.They can now but it there is very little interest in rejoining unless in the context of all island republic.
