I looked at the design of Alex kid then eggman then I thought of a theory. Eggman is the grownup version of Alex kid. The design is similar and it explains why he's a villain. Sega originally had Alex kid, then Mario came so Sega decided to change to sonic starting his hatred to sonic replacing him. Since sonic is a reaction to Mario, it explains why eggman tries to stop Mario in the Olympic games sometimes

Thats just one of his Badniks, the Eggman Robo. A simple Robot build in his image, serving as footsoldiers. Later upgraded to the more versetile Egg Pawn.
I heard Eggman's eyes are red with the whites of his eyes replaced with the color black, his pupils are the same but his are are a vicious red color, as red as his suit (basically his Satam eyes)
