This is an odd comment. They stayed in the tropics for years, and they've continually broke things and fixed things. There's nothing wrong with staying in the tropics. It's the most logical place to sail. To be honest, though I love Uma, and I admire them for going North, I have no interest in frozen wastelands. I mean, I might do it to circumnavigate, but snow is garbage. I think Dan and Kika are awesome just because they are awesome, wherever they go.

Snow is an excellent insulator. Don't brush it off if you want to keep the night warm. Dan! You two should get an "Instant-Pot" rice pressure-cooker. We live off-grid with a battery bank like you folks, and we cook almost everything in it these days. Chicken, scrambled eggs, bacon, hard boiled eggs, beans, soups, fish, rice of course, potatoes, oatmeal... you can literally cook everything in these things, and the brilliant thing about these pressure cookers: You bring them up to temperature (and pressure if pressure cooking), and then the heat element turns off, and the stuff inside keeps cooking, because the pot is insulated. It uses a fraction of the energy to cook similar items on an induction stove, because constant heat is not necessary, since the insulation holds the heat in. They save so much battery energy. And they are super convenient, you can put all the ingredients in to cook oatmeal for you the night before, set the timer, and wake up to hot oatmeal ready to eat in the morning. We ended up getting 2 of them. You can just replace your rice cooker with one of these, you won't be disappointed. Thanks for the awesome video, as always. Thanks for all you both do.

I love the discussion of power usage.
3/4 kWh for a meal, same as making a tank of water.
My first sailing experience was on a 1,040 foot long, 82,000 ton aircraft carrier of the American Navy. Watching your videos has made me want to try something smaller and lighter. Thank you for sharing your adventures. Smooth sailing 😎👍👍
At about 15:00 or so, that's how I think of you guys. Meanwhile, I love it that you are taking this remote sail. I know it's remote simply because not many people undergo this sail and then keep going the passages that you do. I't so beautiful. Thank you both.
This is living!
5:54 - What an amazing view.
Yes , berry, berry cute. Guys go to the med, I am getting cold just looking at you both. Real pioneers and adventures!!!
Looks like an amazing experience. Not too many people will do what you are doing. I am so impressed by both of you.keep on giving these episodes, they are so inspiring and I’m sure I’m not the only person out there that feels like that 👍👍❤️
Haven't checked in in a while, and saw this today. This location is absolutely gorgeous !! Love the mountains, cold as heck on the blustery days, but crazy nice on the clear warm days!
Great video.
Cheerz!!
You ever wonder, like, if I was in my 20s again what would I do? Yea, this looks like it would be a great choice. I grew up in Michigan sailing the Great Lakes and always wanted to get a boat but you know, life sorta got in the way. Being on your sailboat with a gf who is also an adventurous sailor sounds about pretty close to heaven for me. The only problem is their is no practical way to have a dog in the situation, and I can't live without a best friend. Otherwise, total heaven.
Just found the channel and I love it. It was a no-brainer to sub. Can't wait to watch more!
I do like, very much, some of the drone shots in this episode. We love our induction burner. We had our 30” range taken out. Put in an under counter 24” electric oven and one portable induction burner. We are very happy in out tiny living.
Just simply magic. So "refreshing" following you two in such awesome places that I will probably never see! Such beauty and the drone footage beautiful. Love ya guys😍🙏⛵⛵⛵🌅🌅🌅
Kika is certainly living the snow world😂
absolutely loved the epic drone footage in this one. Great job guys!! Thank you for sharing!
Great to see you put the date on the video, it helps contextualise rhe content I watched that big system come down through the north sea early april and thought about you guys. Just stunning video, I am looking forward to the Midnight sun videos such a lot
I definitely think you are a berry berry cute couple! Epic scenery!!! All the black, white and gray with Uma's black and gray, looks amazing!
spectacular ! this is the greatest sailing adventure on RUclips. NBJS is a close second.
Wonderful. If youtube did an Oscars you two should get one.
Started watching you guys the other night. Love your channel. Our kitty sits in front of the TV and watches you. 😂
You two are true adventures! Such an incredible place and I agree most beautiful anchorage. Never seen that before.
BTW you should visit Lyngsalpene. It is true magic. And yes, use the woodstove for cocking. I did when I lived in my kylix 27 for 3 years. You save a lot of electricity.
Epic. Amazing. Norway in winter looks magical. Keep safe, you brave souls.
AWESOME video! The scenic views are magnificent!
Great drone footage of the Lofoten...I’ve been in the summer , but the winter is beautiful!
Now that’s some awesome footage, guys!
Also, watching that snow when we have like 37 c Celsius in Moscow, Russia for a week now is something 😎
Beautiful views! You're right, those mountains are EPIC!
I just love watching Kika from Haiti experience Norway in Winter while sailing there! Me, I grew up at 4800 ft of elevation, so I love to see it through her eyes! It's like the tropics through my eyes probably! LOL!
Fantastic video. The drone really unlocks the beauty.
Two real adventurer !! Great Video as always
Wonderful as always.... enjoy it for those of us who hate winter!!!!!!!!!
Wow, the view you filmed at 5.50 to 6 minutes in using the drone is so gorgeous!
Kika‘s hair in snow is like a puffy swan chick. So beautiful! And the footage... aahhhh ☺️. Best sailing channel ever!
Sailboat: a house going around the world. Keep going!!!
Good work you 2.There is thousands and thousands of cruisers on the seas. But not to many really get out of the comfort zone.winter was probably very booring but when you guys will be 870km north of hammerfest the really cool stuff will make it allworth it.
