I don't think competition is a problem. Because when you have any brand new idea with NO competition at all, you immediately suffer from "Sherlock Holmes Syndrome" (Sherlock had a hard time trying to explain to people and police services about what the hell "detective consulting" means). Even today I find no workplace tool having any idea about what "AI Generalist" means: "you are saying that you can do almost anything? This makes no sense!" As you get some competition, you now have a niche that people can understand. And now you can have differentials, because your clients can look outside and compare. When your competition loses a client, you get a potential new client that already knows about what you are capable of, you don't need to convince anyone. A LOT of competition is bad, a crowded space full of noise, but no competition at all is also bad, is like talking alone on a vacuum.
