    I use a snugpak navigator pal, it's pretty cheap and can get it in olive and it's square at the bottom so you can move your feet around abit👍

    Woobie if it's warm, wool blanket if cooler, zero degree 0F sleeping bag if cold, with Woobie liner if needed. If I am really worried I take military 4pc, mss. That will take me much colder than I want to go.

    Great video Mate. Bamboo isn't a readily found asset in the USA, but your video showed the feasibility of using something similar. Love that Euro surplus cookset/alky stove. Going to be getting both. Appears to be at least or more stable than the Esbit. I'm researching sleep systems... Right now I'm using a Czech surplus summer bag. It's "square" which I like because I'm a side sleeper, but it buttons, not zip. it's actually more practical as a blanket. This was my first hearing about the named storms you get. Not a hurricane, but rough anyway. I imagine you get power outages and such just like we do. Another enjoyable video. Look forward to them !

    • @TreeDeepOutdoors

      I do love the surplus gear, it’s the trade off, there’s going to be a little more weight but for the price, quality and longevity of the gear, you can’t go wrong! The storm was a bit rough but as you said, it wasn’t a hurricane. As soon as it gets windy or there’s a flake of snow, the UK is prone to shutting everything down, no public transport etc it’s crazy 😂 thanks for watching and for the input Barone, it’s always appreciated my friend, hope you’re doing well!

    Another excellent video my friend, nice little one night shelter set up. As for sleeping bags, mate where do you start ! I have 7 or 8 sleeping bags, all good for different times of year and for different kinds of trips. They can be a big investment so take your time and do plenty of research. No one bag can do the lot, having said that if you look at getting British army modular system, you can break it down as the year gets warmer or put it all together when its colder. As for weight and size, again this comes at a premium. I have recently got hold of the Sung pack Black Hawk 9, half the weight and size of an artic bag, and it seems to do a good job, not as roomy mind.. Around £ 110 depending where you shop. Keep them coming Big thumbs up dude.

    • @TreeDeepOutdoors
      @TreeDeepOutdoors  2 года назад

      Hey Moosey! Absolutely agree with you, so many to choose from! The modular system completely slipped my mind! I appreciate the reminder! I’ve also been looking at some Snugpak bags, I’ll have to have a look at the Black Hawk 9 - if it’s half the weight and size, I’m definitely interested! Been having this trouble where I haven’t quite got the knack of packing the gear, I’m sure there’s an art to it but when I go out, the bag is just full to the brim even though it seems I haven’t got that much 😂. Thanks for your input Moosey, always appreciated my friend, hope you’re well 👍

    Carinthia G200 for 3 seasons and in case it might get a little too cold I carry a Dutch army poncho liner as a blanket in the sleeping bag.

    Oex helois down sleeping bag .
    It's not for winter but at 750 grms it's light packs down very small and is fine from may till September imo.

    Liked the shelter mate. Good example of utilising the things in your environment. As for sleeping bags I've got the carinthia defense 4 for winter ( pricey , but i find it excellent) the snugpak softie elite 3 for when it's a bit nippy and the british army lightweight jungle bag for the rest of the time . If i was off to the hills in the cold probably save up for a down bag . Anyway take care bud , another good un 👍

      Also have the euro hike down hybrid . Which is good down to just above freezing , a bit nippy at -3 ( for me ) 👌

      Can’t beat a bit of Carinthia! I’ll definitely be looking to invest in some of their products eventually! A couple of people have suggested the snugpak softie elite 3 so I’ll have to check that out for sure! Thanks for your input my friend! Always appreciated and I hope you and yours are all well👍

    I used to use a 0 degree Fahrenheit US army surplus sleeping bag. Always found it to be too hot and eventually switched to a 30 degree bag from my local outdoor supply store and found it more manageable and still keeps me warm but I live in a climate where cold weather is rare compared to where you're located. Its honestly very difficult to find the "right" sleeping bag and its mostly personal preferance. Keep up the good work you'll end up with the right kit, every trip you'll remember something you forgot the last time. Love the videos keep more coming!

    Just came across your vid's while searching for use's of the British army basha, top class, really enjoying them. I am searching for an original basha as I bought from a site that looked like they were selling them but they were copies, could you point me in the right direction, or maybe if anyone that reads this post could maybe help me out. Again, loving what you doing, good stuff.

    Great vid. Just curious...at time mark 13:36 minutes - what's the critter in the top upper left corner right at the edge of that tuft of grass? It swings it's head around on what looks like a long neck. Some type of large lizard indigenous to your neck of the woods?
