It is always good to see someone that truly has their priorities right, enabling you to survive even the harshest of difficulties; coffee (the nector of life) and bacon. Outstanding video brother; have a great Christmas.
No matter what the situation, if you have coffee and bacon, it’s never that bad 😂 thanks for your comment Michael and a Merry Christmas to you and yours!
I also use the tarp and. bivy combo. I believe bungee cords are more practical than the traditional ridgeline, but I do carry #36 bankline just in case I have to tie something up. Great video bro!
Can't go wrong with the British Army issue bivvy bag & shelter sheet, I too have those both in DPM. I think I paid £50 total for them (£30 and £20) and the bivvy bag was new and packaged. I haven't done the straight A-frame config yet, I tend to do plough point/lean to hybrids and lower the open side which is higher in the day (for sitting in and cooking) at night, the beauty of the basha is that it has loads of anchor points and they're really strong so you can make a different shelter each time you go.
Pancake massacre dude ! But the bacon saved yours, if ya get what i mean Bud. Dakota pit works best on a smaller scale for stealth, and you need to be a little or picky with its construction for it to work well, but hay did the job ! Keep the Vids coming, really enjoy the work.
Potato over pancakes anyday rub oil on potato wrap in aluminium toss in fire wait 30- 40 minutes then cook your bacon or earlier for other meats; if fire too hot for pancakes outside edges get done before middle gets done get pan higher off fire or fewer ashes so not as hot
Hey Charlotte! Thanks for your comment! We’ll have to catch up soon! I’ve been totally slack with social media, I need to really get back on there! Merry Christmas from my family to you and yours, we hope you have an awesome one!!
Only just discovered your channel mate. Loved the video. Well filmed and put together. Really good you kept the mistakes in and were honest about it - keeping it real. I want to try a Dakota fire pit now! Thanks from London 👍
Hey Ben! Thanks for your comment my friend, I definitely believe leaving in the mistakes is important not only to help myself learn but others also. I appreciate the comment! I’m a subscriber of yours, have been for a while and enjoy the content!
Nice camp mate . Shame about the pancakes 😂 . At least you had some food in reserve. Looked like the Dakota fire pit worked well.. Making me want to get out . Take care and have a great Christmas 👍
I was pretty devastated about the pancakes but the bacon saved the day! Thanks for your comment my friend and a Merry Christmas to you and yours sir! Hope you have an awesome one!
Cool video, just come across your channel, and have subbed, can't beat a basha/bivibag setup, for a quick setup/take down, unfortunate about the pancakes, but that's how it goes sometimes, enjoyable video, good health and safe travels my friend, cheers craig 🙏 🌿
Fantastic video, but I’m really interested in your accent. Are you a Brit who’s spent a lot of time in the States, or an American who’s spent a lot of time in Britain? Or am I completely off base?
I love your channel Jack. The "Bouncing bomb" or arctic sleeping bags are Ace but unfortunately for myself im a little to broad for mine so its currently up for sale. merry christmas buddy to you and yours..
Hey Paul! I didn’t see those until now, That’s strange! Thanks for pointing that out! And as always thank you for the comment sir! I hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas!
Actually it looks warm or even hot there in that place. Also, i wood have just boiled the water, not filter it; if full of debris, could have used a bandana to filter the debris. Is that the sound of a turnpike nearby? They say the roots can burn under the forest (Dakota Fire-pit.) just another cooking show with goodies brought from home. Also, cooking with bears? Pancake was probably “Keto” blend; they NEVER cook right, no matter what i do. I can’t say I learned anything. Pretty much shows what NOT to do. I subscribed anyway.
hey mate would love some tips regarding camping regulations here in uk, i know that in england tecnically its not legal to wildcamp, then again its not like they have police offciers spawning in the woods right? RIGHT????
I’m actually planning a video on this topic like a tips and tricks to wild camping. The greatest tip I can give you off the top of my head is treat every wild camp like the stealth camp. Wear earthy colours, use a low profile shelter, use red light etc. one of the most important aspects is how you feel in that current camping location, If it doesn’t feel right, bail out. Has to have that positive energy. Remaining on location, ideally look for somewhere with natural cover. I’ve recently been scouting a location for a new camp area and it’s been a real pain to get to (I have to go bushwhacking, cross a bog etc) which is good, because if it’s a pain to get to, nobody else is going to want to go there. I should have that tips and tricks for wild camping video out next week so stay tuned for that my friend, as for the law spawning - that’s the most terrifying thing I could imagine 😂 but ultimately, if anyone does comes across you, all they’ll do is ask you to move on, as for nightfall, nobody wants to go in the woods at night, so I wouldn’t worry too much 👍 thanks for your comment Charlie
For the final time! Promises! 😂. Unfortunately, I did not solve the mystery of the camp in the middle of the woods. I came across it a few weeks back and it had all been torn down, everything was gone. Hope you’re doing well bud!
Hey Roy! If I remember correctly I purchased the Basha from Military Mart. Unfortunately we don’t really have any surplus stores near us, if we did, I’d imagine I’d be there more than I would be home! 😂. Thanks for your comment Roy and Merry Christmas to you and yours sir!

Bungee cords. Invention of the century! Who needs knot’s 😂👍
You do when bungees are not around.
DPM is disruptive pattern material , good vid keep up the good work
Nice pancake man

Can’t go far wrong with a tarp & bivy! Thanks for your comment Corley, much appreciated my friend 👍

Pancakes in the outdoors can be a challenge with out a proper thick pan. I got a single blin pan that I sometimes take, makes one tiny pancake!
Trick to the pancakes is to not let the pan get too hot, because it will cause the pancake to burn and stick even with oil when pour the batter in.
Really enjoyed that great channel great content I like the vids that show you stuff you can learn from 👍

Great content! What's not to like using bungee cord is losing an eye. Did you ever try para cord.? The jungle way?
What size bungees do you keep in your kit. Great video and new sub here
Good try tho! Thanks for bringing us along! Still no new e-tool I see. Cheers from the Netherlands!
And I’m being picky but can’t believe you set light to hexamine on top of leaves! Mate at least clear down to dirt!

What's the ground sheet you are using n
It looks really tough
The ground sheet comes out of a Individual Protection Kit. Have a search for that, cheap as chips and extremely strong!
