- After lasts weeks Bivy with excessive condensation, I returned and this time used a full Tarp to prove the Hunka can handle a Bivy with minimal or no condensation,
I tried a new area of the Forest by a lough, the sunset failed due to rain coming in but I enjoyed the sunrise.
Stunning sunrise, like the start of Teletubbies....
Hi and thanks for watching
Glad you liked it
Cheers Adrian
What a great camp. Wonderfully varied conditions and light - with the golden morning light well worth the rain and wind overnight.
Hi thanks for coming along
It’s so peaceful in Harwood and that spot is really nice
Cheers
@@northumberlandmountainhopper I don't think I've ever been to that part of the world, but looked a nice peaceful walk and camp.
Love this channel
Hi and thanks for watching
Got to love a tarp and bivy
Glad you enjoy the channel
Cheers Adrian
Nice one , cracking spot that , what a sunrise over the water , stunning , thanks for sharing again , take care , atb Deka 👍🏻🏕😎
Hi and thanks, and the hunka bivy performed well !
Hey Adrian my fellow bivy enthusiast. Love your bivy camps buddy. I also have an army one (not camo) and its lasted me 15 years + so far. The only damage is that the pull cord around the hood has gone, other than that it looks brand new and is still 100% waterproof. Its kind of good to wild camp around paths that are closed off as other people would be put off travelling up there but yes very ridiculous stuff to walk over. Thats really was a great camp spot next to that lake. Minimalist and perfect as always. Great work Adrian 👍👌👊
Hi Gez and thanks, yes a bivy works, up that area there is no easy pitch for a tent it’s all either rough boggy or under the trees which in a lot of cases is still with risk.
Can’t wait to try the new bivy as it’s so big ! Hunka one will be the warm weather one as less chance of the condensation I had on the last one !!!!
Cheers Adrian
Hi Adrian, pleased you had no condensation issues to spoil this trip. I won't say you "solved" the problem because I think the vagaries of condensation are something, unfortunately, that we all have to simply live with; if certain circumstances come together it's just going to happen regardless. Sod's Law and all that!
Absolutely beautiful colours at the end of your video. I love that rich, warm golden hue the sun creates at this time of year when it shines upon the autumnal vegetation and fauna.
Cracking stuff.
Take care.
Hi and thanks, yes you are right, given those conditions again the damp would have been under the tarp as the rain was, my it was windy and blowing rain through the night,
Hopefully the army bivy may be a better bet for the colder damp weather it’s just heavier.
Shame the rain came it at sunset time, but it was a cracker in the morning, but I will return for a sunset,Cheers
where would you rather be!!! perfect. Paul.
Hi Paul,
Thanks for popping by, exactly even in the wet !
Cheers Adrian
I’m a new subscriber, I loved some of the incredible views on this video, overall very enjoyable
Hi and thanks for popping by, the forest is a nice place
Cheers
"where would you rather be?" The great outdoors 💪 nice tarp/bivy set up, lovely sunrise shot again.
Hi and thanks for watching, pleased with this camp, but last time in summer bag !
Cheers
Great video. Nice set up. You have such a calming demeanour. Really enjoyable to watch. Thanks for sharing 👍
Hi and thanks for watching, I just try and enjoy being out and chill as best as I can !
Of course nice surroundings help,
Cheers
Discovered your channel recently and really enjoy it, so inspirational, been lazy and making excuses for a while now, I must get back out there. Don't change your style or content, be you yourself. Take care.
Hi and thanks for watching, glad you enjoy, I would be out more. ! But can’t due to family commitments, once you start you won’t want to stop
Cheers
Looks like you got a fabulous spot to camp by the lough, perfect 👍
Hi Graham, yes prob one of my favourite now
I camp further up next time more stealthy cheers
Adrian
Setup bivi and tarp is super 😜✌️🍀🔥 … I always make a little wood bed with 5 cm thick woodsticks under my thermo mat so the rain water can run under my sleep set without touching my bivi 😜✌️🍀 … so ca 10 cm high this wood stick bed under
Hi and thanks for coming along, yes that sounds a great idea, wish I had done that on my failed bivy camp as damp was coming all around !
Will try it
Cheers
@@northumberlandmountainhopper 😜✌️🔥🍀perfekt
Cracking video, what stunning scenery up there, great pitch by the Loch, sweet setup, good health and safe travels, cheers craig
Hi and thanks for watching
It really is nice in Harwood so peaceful but you have to be stealthy!!
Cheers
Cracking video Adrian I love that location had a few camp's up there before all the storms glad you didn't have more problems with the condensation that photo I sent is top secret mate 🤫🤫 atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Hi Jimmy, thought you would like that location, fair trek but worth it, def a bivy spot as it’s so boggy and the flat bits appear to be under the trees which still look dodgy.
I just got packed, and dog walkers appeared at 8.30 prob from the farm, so I will go a bit further off the track next time.
Cheers Adrian
Watched all of it now. I've never bivvied. I like my little tents (Helm 2 Compact) but I really do see the appeal. Beautiful sunrise over the Lough
Hi and thanks
I have bivied and used tents and enjoy both, but my favourite really is the bivy, it’s the view and if you wake up to see sky, it’s colder and windier, just what you enjoy
Cheers Adrian
Enjoyed watching love it up Harwood 👍
Hi yes Harwood is a great place, I go off it in the midge season ! But enjoy it the rest of the time, can miss the crowds.
Cheers
Sorry lost the will to live after 5 mins. Loved other vids you have done. But going on talking about coat on coat off did me in.
Lol that’s why we have the off button, I sometimes do the same !!
What a beautiful sunrise
Hi thanks for watching
It was a great camp
Cheers
Excellent Bivvi Adrian the Hunka worked out great this time that is good to see😊🙏🏼
(Kinda trust it again now m8t ) it will be interesting to see how the Army Bivvi works out 🙏🏼
Got some super photos of the mushrooms 🍄 at the end I was up on Herefordshire beacon this wkend and there was lots there too!
All the best Simon 😊🙏🏼👍
Hi Simon, yes faith restored in Hunka !
Can’t wait to try the army bag, it’s also much bigger for the winter weight sleeping bag, the Hunka may end up my summer bivy,
Looks like a wet weekend, trouble is if it’s raining on the walk in, a tent is better as you need to be out of wet clothes to get in a bivy, perhaps get changed under a tarp,
Cheers Adrian
@@northumberlandmountainhopper that’s the play m8t change under the Tarp
Tent ⛺️does sound preferable though for a long autumn 🍂 night 😊🙏🏼
ATB m8t have a good trip 😊👍
Wow lovely sunset 🥰🥰🥰
Hi and thanks
Great adventure mate. Catch you again soon 👍
Hi again and thanks, been on any recent camps ? Got your last walk to watch that’s on my list a bivy/camp in there.
Cheers
I really appreciate your videos thanks 😊
Hi and thanks for popping by
Good video pal 😁 its getting cooler up there now.. last night it got down to 4 degrees.. pissed down all night 🙄
Hi Lincoln, my video was last night, and yes it rained hard in the night.
Cheers
Adrian
Lovely Autumnal colours
Hi and thanks for coming along
Yes it’s all changing now
Next time you fill your Sawer pouch, use an empty litre plastic bottle then squeeze the water into the pouch, and your left with a full to the brim sawer pouch..Atb
Hi and thanks for watching, and the advice, I will try this, next time I use the filter,
Cheers
Gorgeous spot mate, glad you had a dry night. Was going to recommend pampers if you didn’t. 😂
Hi , lol and yes it was a nice spot not quite like your water shots but getting there, I am watching the weather so I can get the sun set on the water
Cheers
Goretex though heavier and expensive will be more reliable and breathable than silnylon . Every camp has a different humidity . Being too warm inside the bivvy doesn't help. . Nor does any wet gear
Hi and yes hopefully the army one will be a better bivy for the colder damp nights, amazing the space in it, be using it next camp, cheers
Hello magnifique les couleurs
I love all the camping videos but some of us don't care to watch and or listen to people eating. 🙃
Hi and thanks for watching, interesting a lot like it, it’s hard to know what’s best, I will take it onboard.
Cheers
Good idea with the phone headphones, wrapping the mic
What’s it like in the wind?
Hi thanks for popping by , it was really windy and without the mod you would not have heard me !!! Who needs £100 plus microphones lol
Cheers
Hi Adrian it's a nice area that. We passed you this morning when you were on your way out. Very windy up there today
@@Stevenick949 nice to see you then ! Where did you end up on the hike ?
It really was windy in the night had to re peg a couple of times.
Cheers
Morning Adrian we went up to chartners. Then dropped down to fallowlees. Stopped got the stove out for a brew checked a few sites for camping. Then looped back round to the car. Yes I could imagine it was wild through the night. We didn't really go in the trees the way they were swaying around
Speaking of British army bivvy I’ve got one, they’re heavy, pack big and I and the drawstring isn’t very good!
I was actually thinking of going the alpkit way
Hi Adrian is it the Hunka or Hunka XL your using.
Hi, it’s the Hunka x/l great bag just the one night with issues !!
Can you get an inflatable mat in there aswell
@@ashwoodoutdoors I get my exped LW in no bother it’s 197cm x 65cm x 7cm and a Rab ascent 1100 winter bag it’s tight with the winter bag but it’s still comfortable
It’s very roomy when used with my Rab neutrino 400 3 season bag
Another great camp 👍 Had a Hunka for a while but haven’t used it, I just keep it in my pack for emergencies. It’s just the standard, not XL so probs a bit small to get a mat and bag in.
@@cheviotoutdoors hunka BIVY’S are so light that’s why they are good, yes standard not as good for the mat.
good vid m8 subbed n belled
Hi and thanks for coming along, I do a fair few bivy camps ! I seem to enjoy them more than a tent, but not always !
Cheers
