I agree. After so many videos the intro just becomes repetitive. Plus some intros are louder than the rest of the video and it can be jarring to the ears. These aren't deal breakers but its nice to just get into it.
Something about dreamcast graphics still impress me to this day. Hydro Thunder blew my mind back in the day with its water effects, and it still does in a way. Crazy Taxi too, just looks so good.
Yeah, when the Dreamcast came out, it was a huge jump in home console graphics. Some arcade port games were arcade perfect or even BETTER than their arcade originals. It really was impressive for its time... and is still fun to play, of course. :-)
I grew up with a Dreamcast. Power Stone 2 was tons of fun. I had Dynamite Cop and yes it was fantastic fun, I loved snapping people's joints over and over in ridiculously amazing fashion. I remember being blown away by the first level of Sonic Adventure, how cool it was, and the music and the speed. And the chaos were fun. Jet Grind Radio was tons of fun too. Grew up with Soul Reaver as well, I even had an English teacher that loved video games (which was astonishing to me) and he said his wife called that game Sleep Reaver because he would stay up late playing it haha. MDK2 was amazing... the four armed dog with four guns?! What!? Amazing. And those VMUs were really cool, gimmicky, but cool. Also Zombie Revenge was one I'd play with my brother a bunch. I'd have to say my all-time favorite (certainly most played) was Spawn. Great video! Hope things are better, and that your loved ones are doing alright. Looking forward to more of your videos! Always a pleasure.
Fantastic list! The Dreamcast is one of my favorite systems to play to this day. Some of the most played in my collection includes Dynamite Cop, Zombie Revenge, Crazy Taxi 2, Soldier of Fortune, Metropolis Street Racer, Soul Caliber, Tony Hawk 2, Hydro Thunder, Re-Volt, and Sega Marine Fishing to name a few!
I forced myself to play a bunch of games prior to making the video and Re-Volt was one of them. I wanted to like it, but kept finishing last place. That handling...
Dreamcast is one of my favorite consoles. My favorite Dreamcast games are Dynamite Cop. I got that for 20 dollars years ago. Cannon Spike, Powerstone 1 and 2, Marvel Vs Capcom 1 and 2, Crazy Taxi, Project Justice, Shenmue 1 and 2 and Soul Caliber
I will never forget how amazingly cool it was the first time I played Crazy Taxi and there was real music on the radio. I don't know if that was the first game to do that, but it was the first time I'd experienced it. I think these days I'd get pretty tired of hearing like the same 5 songs over and over again though. At some point, it's actually better to just have the Mario or Zelda music in your head for hours. Glad to see Toy Commander in the top spot, where it rightly belongs. To this day that's in my top 10 favorite multiplayer games. You have the correct opinion today. 😆
I played counterstrike 1.6 in times past (like 20 years ago), and toy commander reminds me of a well made level where you play in a kitchen, but you are scaled down so everything seems huge.
Glad to see hydro thunder and Star Wars pod racer make your list. My dad got the Dreamcast when it launched and I played those a lot when I was like 5. Now at 28 years old I just ordered a Dreamcast!
I adore Toy Comander, it doesn't get enough love. I love the mission where you can pick up green soliders and put them down and they fight for you, it's like a mini RTS game. I also like that the more you do the eaiser the final boss fight is.
I recently picked up Typing of the Dead....such a strange game using a keyboard to kill zombies....and only on the Dreamcast (and will probably never see a release elsewhere)...this plus Crazy Taxi (1 & 2), Jet Set Radio, Legacy of Rain, Grandia 2, Resident Evil - Code Veronica, Marvel v Capcom 2, Skies of Arcadia and Sega Rally
Sega Dreamcast forever thank you for this list! The game awards 2022: Could’ve been a great show but they didn’t even have: Road Rash 4 🤦♂️ Smugglers Run 3 Darkwatch 2 Black 2 Motorstorm 4 Resistance 4 MAG 2 F Zero Super Mario Odyssey 2 Killzone 4 Burnout Revenge 2 Metroid Prime 3 Half-life 3 Left 4 Dead 3 🎄🎮🏆
Great list as usual. soul reaver is so good and I agree with so many as always. Personally I think power stone is a top game but my list wouldn't be much different.
I love these lists. I had never even heard of Bangai-O. Can't wait to try that one out. Also, you said the word "pop" so I'm guessing we got a midwesterner here. Good stuff!
Holy smokes, I totally forgot about Max Steel! I haven't played that since I was a kid. Of course I was the kid that saved and saved to get a Dreamcast instead of waiting for the PS2. What a lovely time I had with that console. Great video.
I like your lists because there are games there that others don’t and won’t have. Would love to see a video dedicated to your impressions and review of Shenmue!!
Really liking your lists (I just recently found your channel). To the point, reasoning behind your choices, and your pick list is unique and not generic title you see on every other list. I can totally see myself really enjoying most of the games on this list. Thanks! 👍
Great list you got great hidden gem adventure games like soul reaver and draconus. The dreamcast is quite the beloved console in my household. Very nostalgic games. So my list:Sonic adventure, virtual on oratorio tangram, vigilante 8 second offense, mdk2, slave zero, omikron, jet grind radio, shenmue, phantasy star online and maken x.
@@GamingTheSystems1 yes I started off as the guy. I'm enjoying it so far. I've got to say that I'm impressed with the graphics and the scope of the levels. Crazy that it was achievable on a Dreamcast.
Nice list! A top 10 list is so difficult with the Dreamcast since there are so many good games. I feel like it should be top 20. Anyways, my top 10 would be GTA2, South Park Rally, Draconus cult of the Worm, Record of Lodoss War, Vigilante 8, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Slave Zero, NFL Blitz 2001, Crazy Taxi, and Test Drive 6.
Dang learn something every day. First I find out episode one is on PC years later, then I'm informed today it's on dreamcast. Hmmm. The 64 version ain't bad at all though.
Great list!! I love Bangai-O and Dynamite Cop!! I actually prefer the N64 version of Bangai O even though the graphics are worse and its in Japanese, it just feels so much better controlling the direction you shoot in with an actual thumb stick and not the 4 face buttons. It’s the only N64 game I know of where you hold the left prong to thumb the D-Pad and the middle prong to thumb the joystick and Z button and never touch the right prong of the controller because you don’t need the A, B or C buttons
This system always slipped through my fingers growing up. Being born in 94 I had the right time period to get this console but always ended up with others due to situations. Gotta try to add it to my collection one day.
I love Bangai-O! That would be in my top 10. I'm also a huge fan of the Powerstone games, Soul Calibur and Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage. The Dreamcast is one of my top 3 favorite consoles of all time, along with the SNES and original Xbox.
Well this is certainly the most unique top ten Dreamcast list I’ve ever seen lol. This might be as controversial as my top ten SNES/Super Famicom list 😂
Draconus was one of the first games I got with my Dreamcast a decade ago think it's an exclusive and made by Treyarch. I remember the warrior always sounding sarcastic making it unintentionally hilarious. I might play it again with the mage.
I love Dreamcast. I stood in line at Electronics Boutique on 9-9-99 (a Thursday) at 6AM to pick one up first. I bought an HDMI (Akura) box for it, the games look fantastic on my plasma TV. But I play Shenmue I and II on PS4 or Xbox - faster loads.
If you're looking to emulate the Saturn, the Retroarch Beetle Saturn core works flawlessly. There is also Mednafen, which works equally well. In fact, iirc, the Beetle Saturn core uses Mednafen code.
Thanks for the video. You probably already know this, but you don’t even need to emulate. You can play self-booting burned discs on any un-modded Dreamcast. Been able to do that for a couple decades now.
Have a full PAL set and all the US games that weren't released over here. Ten best games: Phantasy Star Online, Crazy Taxi, Shenmue 1, Virtua Tennis 2, Outtrigger, Powerstone 2, Sonic Adventure, House of the Dead 2, Tokyo Highway Challenge, Railroad Tycoon 2.
i havent played seaman, but seeing the avgn episode really impressed me. im not sure how much of it was actually staged but the conversations almost seemed real. im just wondering why they would bother with an english translation in the first place, seeing how complex it is. i guess it makes sense because did you know theres actually a japanese only sequel on ps2?

I love Bangaio I would call Soul Reaver more of a vampire Tomb Raider clone than a metroid-vania. (Its great though.) Lastly, I've played Max Steele. Its campy fun, but not great. Fun list.

I Loved the Power Stone Games so much. They were id call them Smash Bros like fighters and the Second one had a pretty Deep Crafting system in it. I wish Sega would Remake them so I could play them again.
I know this sounds weird but turn your dream cast upside down when trying to boot MVC2. Sometimes those lasers don't read the discs well so I flip my dream cast on upside down and it helps read them.
Great list and knew next to knowing of the dream cast before hand being from Nineendo,Playstationa, Xbox and PC and all... Which I have played 2 of these games before well kinda Podracer on PC and defnatly the remake to Hydrothunder on Xbox Arcade such a great hidden gem on Xbox 360... Kinda hopes it returns in the current gen. Also found some games I should check out thanks!
Did you feel conflicted choosing Soul Reaver knowing about the PS1 version? I do thinking about certain games on NES when there's an arcade counterpart similar like Turtles 2. It makes lists difficult? Sometimes it's where does the game's true home lie? Especially if gameplay almost the same on each system.
I only had a handful of games growing up and now I need to check a lot of these out. So here’s my top five lol Sonic adventure House of the dead 2 Soul reaver Shenmue but didn’t get far Sega bass fishing
I skipped completely over the Dreamcast, I had a couple buddies that had one so I got to play quite a bit of it, but aside from a few games I haven't felt like I missed out on too much.

Hey have you ever played the game Omikron The Nomad Soul personally it's one of my favorite dreamcast games but it's rather obscure. Much like Shenmue it was ridiculously ahead of its time. It has a open world (even bigger than Shenmues), puzzles, first person shooter segments, and even moments that turn into a fighting game. Not saying it should be on your list but I do highly recommend it when you have time to play a 15 to 20hr game. Oh and David Bowie does a synth laden soundtrack for the game and actually helped write its story.
Just a suggestion, have you considered to just record yourself playing the old classic video games with no comments and just the sounds. Many people like those types of ASMR. This would of course not be the the main content, but I believe it would help with the quantity of your videos and perhaps add subs, plus you need footage anyway for the reviews. Additionally you would build an online gameplay archive.
Gameplay videos are in very low demand. I actually had a gameplay channel years ago. Out of 20 or so videos, only a couple broke 1K. If I started stuffing those kinds of videos into this channel I would lose viewers. I know because I tried that as well. The first one I post lost me about 50 subscribers.
My top ten in no order: Blue Stinger Mobile Suit Gundam: Side Story 0079 Virtua Tennis Phantasy Star Online Jet grind radio Toy Commander Power Stone 1&2 Sonic adventure 1&2 Skies of Arcadia Shenmue 1&2
10 Evolution 9 NBA 2K2 8 Crazy Taxi 7 Sonic Adventure 6 Power Stone 5 Sega Classics Vol 1 4 Marvel Vs Capcom 2 3 MLB (I forgot the exact name) 2 Dynamite Cop 1 Project Justice (Rival Schools 2)
Don't use your original games, just get a GDEMU or Terraonion MODE and run them from an SD, that way you can safely store your laser and games, never to be used again :) EDIT: The title of the video says it all, why waste time on an intro or welcoming people? "Number 10..." and awaaaaay he goes! 😁
Thank you for not having a long winded introduction. I see the name of the video, I click it, it gets right into it.
Thanks. What I'm doing is chopping up what I would normally say in the intro and sprinkling it throughout the video.
I agree. After so many videos the intro just becomes repetitive. Plus some intros are louder than the rest of the video and it can be jarring to the ears. These aren't deal breakers but its nice to just get into it.
@@GamingTheSystems1 good idea
Where I'm from, it's usual for people to say "hello" or similar before they say anything else.
Yes those long winded intros can be annoying especially if it’s a DIY project
I'm so used to videos like this beginning with a condescending history lesson on what a Dreamcast is that I thought I had accidentally skipped ahead.
I'm now putting the condescending parts toward the middle of the videos.
Something about dreamcast graphics still impress me to this day. Hydro Thunder blew my mind back in the day with its water effects, and it still does in a way. Crazy Taxi too, just looks so good.

Yeah, it did. Retrotink caused something to happen.
The original Bangai O is on N64 and it's just as good as on DC. More expensive though. The scoring and power up system is different on N64 too.
Has more enemies and less slow down on DC

According to the gameroom, it's red
Starwar racer on dreamcast is better than n64 verison because of some bug fixes
A Dreamcast Top Ten list that doesn't include Skies of Arcadia? Interesting.
As mentioned, a game cannot be missing from a favorites list.
@@GamingTheSystems1 Vey true. I just don't see too many DC lists that doesn't include it.
I intend to play it, but heading toward SNES games for a while.
defiantly do ps2 next.:)
I don't know it enough. Next one will likely be SNES.
Don't use your original games, just get a GDEMU or Terraonion MODE and run them from an SD, that way you can safely store your laser and games, never to be used again :)
EDIT: The title of the video says it all, why waste time on an intro or welcoming people? "Number 10..." and awaaaaay he goes! 😁
Probably wanna get marvel vs Capcom a resurface.
