Honestly, if anyone could have sympathized with Shadowsight, it would have been Mothwing. Given what she went through, she knows exactly how it feels to doubt your abilities as a medicine cat because of an unfortunate accident. I remember in New Prophecy she accidentally gives elders tainted water and called Leafpool over to Riverclan when cats started getting sick and she didn't know what to do and was in a panic. To hear about her suddenly treating Shadowsight like he can't be trusted with anything, not even the smallest of tasks, just sounds really disappointing.

Yeah, they literally pulled a U - Turn on Dovewing, the loyalty to her clan, her friends and her family was stronger than her love for Tigerheart ever was, and they made that clear in Omen of the Stars. Yes, she loved him, but she didn't let it get in the way of serving her clan to the best of her ability. But in Tigerhearts shadow, she's shown to be careless and Tigerheart's little pet rather than a mate, and she just abandoned everything she ever knew and loved for someone, who in my opinion, doesn't even truly care about her feelings or her persnoal life and just wants a mate to fuel his ego. And on the topic of Tigerheart, he totally changed when he became leader. He went from a mostly calm and carefree character to a loud, pushy and aggressive character who only makes decisions as leader based off of his personal wants and beliefs, rather than what is best for the whole of Shadowclan. When Skyclan arrived at the lake, he didn't even stop for a moment to think about how this clan desperately needed help, and how it was the will of freaking Starclan for them to be beside the lake. Instead he just drove them away because he personally didn't want them there, despite some cats from his clan disagreeing with him. That was long rip whoever got this far

I could straight up rant for several hours how this scene made me hate Mothwing. She went to okay to on my death list. Everything she did to Shadowsight, from being passive aggressive when taking about the oak leaves or marigold, not looking at things from another perspective, and just talking talking down to Shadowsight. When she is preaching about him being wrong about Ashfur to his FATHER and MENTOR, who did nothing when he needed them, she sounds like Proffecer Umbridge from Harry Potter. Also his father and mentor are so blind that they don’t even give a second glance to ouctcasting, demoting, and forcing Shadowsight to heal the cat who ruined his life. No one will talk to him or let him treat them ever agree to let him heal them again. And you may say “that’s not the true Mothwing” well that sucks because what we got IS canon. There is not enough room to explain my hatred.

I really wanted Shadowsight to say "f you" to everyone and become Lightleap's apprentice for a while, just like Rootspring's medicine cat mini-arc,but it never went anywhere.
I feel like this is exactly what puddleshine does. He shouldn't be a medicine cat if he can't even act like the one in charge. Mothwing basically took over from him also but the authors just ignore that for some reason.
To be fair, it makes a bit of sense. Puddleshine was a random kit who was made into a medicine cat outside of his own will. Not only is it possible for him to literally not know some of the things Mothwing claims ("these need to stay dry" vs "puddleshine says they should have some of the sap left in them"), he may very well just want someone there who can help him. While their treatment of Shadowsight was entirely uncalled for, the fact that Puddleshine's rudimentary knowledge might've led him to be a poor medicine mentor for someone hardly younger than him is plausible.
Mistystar: tells Mothwing she can't be a medicine cat as soon as she becomes leader and only lets her be a medicine cat again because her son is dying and Willowshine is too inexperienced Also Mistystar: what? You won't come back to RiverClan? But we're such good friends!
Mistystar: exiles mothwing for being half clan (and not herself how oooodd) at the influence of the imposter (bramblestar) Me: Remembers the time Mistyfoot watched her leader be complacent in the influence of a different leader saying half clan cats are no good, and thus watching her brother die defending her and other halfclan cats. Me: hm. The Erins really forgot abt that piece of character development and butchered another character. They sure do want to strip riverclan of every character they deem important.

It's definitely influenced by seeing it from Shadowsight's perspective, and I agree! Yes, it's completely awful for him to have his title stripped like that, but yes he also probably doesn't know what he's talking about. Mothwing comes in and figures out that Puddleshine is half-trained, and his ability to teach another cat who was hardly younger than himself was flawed, so she's here to try to help him out. Puddleshine seems relieved to have her there. For Shadowsight, though, it seems like Mothwing is questioning everything he ever learned from his "capable" mentor and seeking to humiliate him rather than improve the treatments in ShadowClan.

I love how I stopped reading warriors a few years ago and only have up to book 4 of arc 2 and some of the manga and bramblestars storm but I keep up with what happens through these and understand nothing.

I was actually pretty annoyed with how the clan randomly decided Shadowsight couldn’t be trusted because one of his patients died. All the other medicine cats lose patients all the time. They say he doesn’t know enough, and then they don’t even try to teach him. Also, Shadowclan knew that he accidentally killed Bramblestar for an entire book before they actually decided it was a problem
The recent books have made me really ticked off at mothwing, like who is she to waltz in to shadow clan and tell everyone what to do😾 I do enjoy your videos they always manage to make me laugh😸

I really wanted Shadowsight to say "f you" to everyone and become Lightleap's apprentice for a while, just like Rootspring's medicine cat mini-arc,but it never went anywhere.

I can't tell you how much I hated Mothwing when I read that. I never really liked her, but that makes it worse.

I feel like this is exactly what puddleshine does. He shouldn't be a medicine cat if he can't even act like the one in charge. Mothwing basically took over from him also but the authors just ignore that for some reason.
To be fair, it makes a bit of sense. Puddleshine was a random kit who was made into a medicine cat outside of his own will. Not only is it possible for him to literally not know some of the things Mothwing claims ("these need to stay dry" vs "puddleshine says they should have some of the sap left in them"), he may very well just want someone there who can help him. While their treatment of Shadowsight was entirely uncalled for, the fact that Puddleshine's rudimentary knowledge might've led him to be a poor medicine mentor for someone hardly younger than him is plausible.
Mistystar: tells Mothwing she can't be a medicine cat as soon as she becomes leader and only lets her be a medicine cat again because her son is dying and Willowshine is too inexperienced
Also Mistystar: what? You won't come back to RiverClan? But we're such good friends!

Me: Remembers the time Mistyfoot watched her leader be complacent in the influence of a different leader saying half clan cats are no good, and thus watching her brother die defending her and other halfclan cats.
Me: hm. The Erins really forgot abt that piece of character development and butchered another character. They sure do want to strip riverclan of every character they deem important.
This part of the book was so conflicting for me!! Mothwing is /right/ and Puddleshine was essentially half-trained from the start, let alone Shadowsight's competency. Gotta feel bad for the little guy, though, he was only ever doing is whiney-best
It's definitely influenced by seeing it from Shadowsight's perspective, and I agree! Yes, it's completely awful for him to have his title stripped like that, but yes he also probably doesn't know what he's talking about. Mothwing comes in and figures out that Puddleshine is half-trained, and his ability to teach another cat who was hardly younger than himself was flawed, so she's here to try to help him out. Puddleshine seems relieved to have her there. For Shadowsight, though, it seems like Mothwing is questioning everything he ever learned from his "capable" mentor and seeking to humiliate him rather than improve the treatments in ShadowClan.

When I was reading this, I was worried that people would think that I was immature and that ACTUALLY MOTHWING AND THE REST OF SC'S BEHAVIOUR MAKES PERFECT SENSE BECAUSE THESE REASONS:

I loved mothwing untill book 4 they're just butchering her now, if anything i think she'd be more sympathetic to him because she knows how it is to have people treat you like an outsider, and question your worth as a medicine cat even for different reasons.

Mistystar was such a hypocrite in this arc; she’s half-ThunderClan, she’s every bit as “wrong” as Jayfeather or Lionblaze. And Mothwing was too much of an actual bitch to Shadowsight to warrant the tough love crap they try and sell to keep her likeable. Bleximi, sorry, I know she’s your favorite, but I wouldn’t be broken up if she didn’t make it out of the next book alive.

I love how I stopped reading warriors a few years ago and only have up to book 4 of arc 2 and some of the manga and bramblestars storm but I keep up with what happens through these and understand nothing.

I was actually pretty annoyed with how the clan randomly decided Shadowsight couldn’t be trusted because one of his patients died. All the other medicine cats lose patients all the time. They say he doesn’t know enough, and then they don’t even try to teach him. Also, Shadowclan knew that he accidentally killed Bramblestar for an entire book before they actually decided it was a problem

I wouldn’t be surprised if shadowsight left the clans because most cats now hate him and mothwing is a jerk now but then he comes back to warn the clans about huge danger that he discovered while living as a rouge and the clans don’t believe him until it’s almost too late then he’s welcomed back as a full medicine cat but who knows
