Emmas first time to Anfield to see LFC play Salzburg in the Champions Leauge. Liverpool football club were playing their first game in Europe since winning in Madrid. Emma joins the glory supporters brigade and is fully indoctrinated.
We stayed in the YHA Liverpool Central Hostel, a new YHA in a perfect location right in the heart of the city. A great base if you are coming to Liverpool and want to put your money towards an awesome charity!

My son and I are huge Liverpool fans from Canada! We went to Liverpool last March to see a live game and also got to see the Bayern game from the Kop end on the big screen. It was a dream come true! Liverpool is the greatest city in the world. I cant say enough good things about the people and the great Club!
Your first Anfield experience was mine, too! I traveled from California to finally be able to attend a Liverpool match in person! I was at those same two matches...against Salzburg and Leicester. It was AMAZING!!! Everything you said about it being emotional and captivating is exactly how I felt, too. Can't wait to go back! YNWA!!!

I am so jealous, i have been with my wife for 6 years total and have made her watch every game with me. I want to bring her some day, but i live in TX and it would cost us a fortune. Maybe someday it will happen, but until then we can live vicariously through you two!! Cheers and up the Reds!

I live in continental Europe and have been a long life Liverpool's fan. I've been to Anfield only about 15 times but listening to the fans singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" in the stadium never failed to make my hair stand on ends. Thank you for sharing your experience.

Emma I can't imagine how you must of felt walking into the stadium as an adult. Feeling the thousands of fans cheering. When you are there you do "feel" them not just hear them. The 1st game I went to was at Fenway Park to see my Red Sox when I was 8. The thing I most remember was walking up the ramp and finally seeing the grass on the field. It was so beautifully GREEN. I have seen a lot of awesome scenery in nature but nothing still compares to that field on that day.
Also the Red Sox lost. Which christened me into the fellowship of the miserable of being a Red Sox fan. I congratulate you both again on Liverpool winning the Premier League. Going 30 years since your last Championship is bad. But get back to me when you go 86 years between them. And also losing in some horrible ways. Just Google Bucky Bleeping Dent and Bill Buckner. Now we have totally blessed the last 20 years in sports here in Boston. Tom Brady's 6 Super Bowls, 4 World Series for the Sox and Championships for the Celtics and Bruins. Underneath though for anyone over 30 is how unbelievable this run is after all the pain we have gone through as Boston fans. So I truly know how much wining The Premier League means ❤

Have only been lucky enough to have tickets to go twice in my lifetime, and i'm 50 now. I was fortunate enough to have tickets for the Anfield Stadium tour, the day before we beat Crystal Palace on the last day of the season, and pose with the Premier league and Champion's league trophy...even the tour in an empty Anfield gave me goosebumps. Liverpool people are friendly and full of life (I'm from Kent) and if you could bottle the spirit of Liverpool and the sacred atmosphere of Anfield, you could make a fortune selling it to other clubs. It is so special.
Went over last season for the Napoli game and what historical game for the club it became!!
We stood to the left of the goal on the Annie Rd Stand watching Mo’s goal and Alisson’s monster save in extra time!European nights at Anfield are massive!

I took my wife to her first ever Liverpool game against Salzburg. She absolutely loved it. She was so happy to see that many goals.
1st time at. Anfield stood in the Kop.. Last game of season against Brighton paid well over the odds for a ticket but I have to tell you it was worth every penny.. Atmosphere was to die for whole day was amazing Anfield was buzzing
It's like nothing else.. such a special place
Couldn't get tickets for champions league final against Spurs but did next best thing spent couple days around Anfield. Watched the final in The Sandon, Liverpool Fc birthplace, just 1 minute walk from Anfield. If you ever get chance go there. Every Liverpool fan needs to experience The Sandon on a match day. Oh and if you want to stay over night. Rooms are very in-expensive 😁😁
I took my friend's son to that game, he is 14, it was his first ever game at Anfield too. He loved it. My first ever game was in 1972. We beat Coventry city 2-0 and went on to win the league title in May 1973. Let's hope it's an omen. Great video.
The first time I went to Anfield and the never walk alone came on and the whole ground started to sing it absolutely blow me away it was experience like no other .

I was in Dortmund for Champions league match between Dortmund and Real Madrid. It was an amazing feeling. it was the first time i ever went to a stadium and watch the match. I was one of the famous Yellow Wall and It was fucking amazing feeling. When the fans started singing YNWA, i also joined them and tbh in each word I sing I was remembering Liverpool. I wish to visit liverpool especially "Anfield" once in my life.... It will be a huge dream come true!!!
I will always remember October 5, 2019: Liverpool 2, Leicester City 1. It was my first Anfield experience, row 5, just left of the goal in the Kop. It was life-changing.

7 goals, what a lucky first time! My first Anfield experience was in 1966, also a European cup game. I don't remember the match much, but I do recall being amazed at the luminescent green grass under the lights, it took my breath away. My Dad's first was 1932 (he will be 93 next spring). Glad you had a memorable time.

Loved this video, i was lucky to go to Anfield once. It was an amazing experience, something i still remember today even though it was 20 years ago. It may have been a 0-0 draw against West Ham, who parked the bus! My first live sport experience was going to trent bridge cricket ground in the 70s. I got to watch the great West indies team as well as Australia. Cant do it anymore due to ill health, but i love you can see things second hand through videos like this. It means a lot, thabk you.
be warned though, it's not always a 7 goal thriller... sometimes we just smash barca 4 nil =D

My 1st game was early in the 74-75 seaaon. I stood on the Kop. I was 10yrs old and we lost 1-0 to Burnley.
Keegan was serving a suspension and l fell in love with his replacement...phil boersma.
It is an amazing atmosphere. I've been quite a few times and done the tour. Even held the European cup they got to keep. I've been a fan since the age of 8. YNWA X

But I have bee to Twickenham and watched the British lions v barbarians 2002 someone didn't make the coach so I filled in not even a rugby fan.

As an away fan I visited Anfield many times and one of the things that I used to look forward to was the hot Eccles cakes. If they still sell them I recommend that you try them.You won’t be disappointed.

I know what you mean. Anfield is an incredible live experience. And both the city and the people of Liverpool are so friendly and down to earth. I live in NY and I took my son to Anfield two years ago for his birthday and we had an amazing time there. Glad you enjoyed it and I look forward to enjoying more of your videos.

i love it .really went to barcelona match at home when we come back from 3 goal deficits.i travel from ethiopia to liverpool i wouldn't forget in my life .I didn't sleep that night even i couldn't sleep in the day time i was so emotional.i love anfield and i will never forget that experince and if we get to semi finals this year i will come again .

My (Frank’s ) first time at a sporting event was waaaay back in 1969 to see my Detroit Tigers play the Minnesota Twins. My dad and mom and sisters went too. Even though we got our butts kicked. I’ll always treasure the memory of that day.

my first anfield visit was a 3:2 thriller with totenham ( way back when ginola still played for them ) only downside was my brother ( who had season ticket ) kindly ?! gave up his kop seats for me, he and his friend sat at the away end, only for ALL the goals to be at his end....still, it was a cracking game and have since been several times to watch european games and i took a friends son for his first visit to anfield when the record breaking pen shootout happened....seems its the place to be to watch the most exciting football matches (never seen them lose there yet either) ;)

you are SOOOO LUCKY !!! Being that Im here in the USA I will never have the opportunity to attend a Liverpool FC Match. I would give my right arm to see a live match ! If I was in that stadium when the start to sing You'll Never Walk Alone....I would be crying .Being that Im now retired...really dont have the funds to afford flight, car, hotels and game tickets....thankfully I can watch the games here in the USA. Maybe someday Ill win the lottery so I can go to a match...GO REDS !!!!!

I have been following your vlog for a long time, but this one was a surprise. Lifelong LFC fan here. My son did almost the same as you guys. He flew from NY to Barcelona and then made his way to Madrid for the Champions League Finals. He wasn’t as lucky as you guys to sleep in a car....it was a park for him...but obviously worth every bit of it

What Emma said is actually true and mirrors what I thought so many years ago: When you are used to watching a football game only on TV, you are completely surprised how "near" and "close" everything feels when you are in a stadium.
