I used to play this game as a kid back in 1998 I was 10 years old! I loved this game so much, I think has been my first videogame ever for ps1! Great time big nostalgia!
As a kid I loved this game. Never got to beat it but I remember struggling a lot and after a while having what I considered back then “good progress”. I miss those simpler times…
Lol I don't think I ever made it past level 2. This game was so hard as a kid but even all these years later I remember it. 100% cried dying over and over
This looks much better than I remember Ps1 graphics. I know it's old af but I'd like to replay it just to look at it! It's so simple that it has an aesthetic I don't think even a remake / remaster could recapture with more realistic or complex graphics. Beautiful game.
Was playing it just now. Man, this game was ahead of its time on the gameplay front. Still early to say, but I think it isn't as hard as people seemed to think, they just weren't yet accostumed to 3D platforming games. The platforming is amazingly well done. Usually platforming is really difficult in old 3D games, but I was completely amazed at how Blasto managed to make it so tight and responsive in 1998. The only thing it lacks to be comparable to modern titles is the camera+movement controls under the right analog. As is, the right analog just controls the aiming, but still, the way the tank controls were implemented is amazing and give you a pretty fine control over the character. It is a little bit clunky, but not enough to be a problem, it just feels like there are some locks here and there in control that makes it less agile, but do not impact controllability not even in the least. This game puts the likes of other tank control games on the PS1 to shame, it even had the fast lookback mechanic that Resident Evil would implement in later installments. Fantastic game that was unjustly reviewed back in the day.
I loved it (still loving it). I never thought that this game was difficult as they say. And as for today, its graphics still look good in comparison to modern games.
@@rodrigolefosse I had played the game when I was little, but just now, replaying it, I can see its value. It's not difficult, at least until the part I got, you just need to understand the mechanics and the platforming becomes one of the best I've seen in older games.
